Chapter 326: The traitor

All hell was made loose, and soon, the maze was covered with flames as Abrielle attacked like she was on a rampage. The hunters tried to flee, this was to create a diversion for death’s bite to be more focused on rescuing their customers than saving the slaves

Jocelyn was alarmed immediately, "The slaves are revolting." A noble screamed his clothes tattered as he ran out of the maze. Jocelyn got on her feet immediately, "so they are playing this game." She sneered.

Penny took charge immediately, "Jake, take your men into the maze and barricade the place no slave leaves alive. Get me the bloody witches to hunt them down " she barked out commands.

Jocelyn was still calm, "there is something off, a strong magic brewing there but we can handle this. Instruct the handmaids to use the tracking magic. They would not be able to leave as long as that bracelet is on them." She gave her instructions. Penny bowed slightly to her superior and immediately summoned the handmaids who were all witches. freewebnoveℓ.com

Witches and mages were different aside from the fact their abilities came from different deities. What really characterises someone as a witch is the ability to manipulate dark magic and carry out rituals.

Back in the maze Heather and Abrielle broke apart trying to help the others as they found a way out of the maze.

Abrielle horse rode dashing through the complex paths; she sent fireballs and other types of flames at unsuspecting victims before they reacted. They were all killers. Abrielle could manipulate other magic except from the blue flames, but it was her strongest spell yet.

From a distance, she could spot a slave who was in a tussle with a hunter, and she immediately charged forth; it was Becky.

Becky was already injured, her back against the ground as she struggled with a hunter who had already captured her. From the look of things, the disgusting bastard had the intention of violating her, disregarding the chaos around.

"Don’t be shy, I will be quick." He said as he continued to force himself on her. Becky was sick of everything, she tried hard to fight back. A taunting smile crossed her lips as her eyes caught sight of the princess that rode towards them.

"Of course, you are fast. I doubt you can last long anyway." Her words sparked the man’s rage as he fought back hitting her. One of her eyes was already bruised with blood trickling down her forehead.

She always had her inhibitions about this escape plan but went along hoping maybe there was a chance she could hold her baby again. A chance to see her family, hope was fleeting and she has no regrets if this was her end. She fought hard.

Her eyes were not on the raging monster in front of her, but on the furious princess that approached; her ginger hair flew, blending with the wind, a perfect sight against the amber sky. The strands looked golden at the golden hour with the sunlight reflecting off it. She was mesmerized, maybe it was death that made her admire the beautiful.

Abrielle screamed out, calling for Becky, but her ears had gone deaf ."Get out of the way." She screamed, and the hunter heard her; he glanced behind and was equally mesmerized.

"Abigail, get her out of the way," Abrielle instructed the little girl. It turns out Abigail can’t move organic matter but only inanimate objects. The little girl drew in a deep breath and then stretched her hands to break off the head of a nearby statue she threw against the masked hunter.

The man groaned in pain, his back striking against the stone path. Blood spewed from his mouth. "What do you think you are doing?" The man groaned in pain.

"What do you think? We are hunting you." Abrielle scoffed; she raised her hand, muttering inaudible incantations. A blue flame formed above her, forming a Phoenix that launched towards the man. He was burned to ashes immediately.

Seeing Becky being assaulted invoked a wrath Abrielle didn’t know she had in her to summon her strongest flames, the blue-flaming Phoenix.

She stopped her horse beside Becky. "Are you alright?" She asked; Becky was stunned; she had never experienced such strong magic in her life. All she could do was nod her head.

"Come on, we are close to the maze exit. This is just the beginning." She urged Becky. Close to the exit, Camilla was stationed there. After she described the layout of the maze, they all made an agreement to gather at the exit before dusk.

More girls were showing up some more injured than others. She spotted another group approaching they were just 2. "What happened to Olivia?" She asked the group.

"Olivia could not make it ", one answered, Camilla’s heart squeezed. It was expected that some lives would be lost. So far 6 girls have been confirmed dead or captured.

Her ears perked up; she gazed above to catch the sight of Abrielle sharing a single horse with two others. "Abrielle!!" She called out waving for the princess.

"We won’t be able to go far with the trackers. I am certain they have already surrounded us." Abrielle mentioned as she got off the horse. She could already see some girls missing, including Heather. She was certain Heather would make it here

"Cecilia claims to be an illegitimate noble daughter but still possesses her family’s trade mark. " Camilla explained. Abrielle’s eyes fell on the girl Camilla was talking about. She was among the magic users that came out but she had very weak attacking spells. It seems she was still useful.

Cecilia was busy breaking the witchcraft on the bracelets. A few minutes later, the sky was completely dark; it was time to leave.

The forest was eerie but they charged forth on foot. It didn’t take long before they were surrounded. It wasn’t unexpected. This was great Abrielle was just going to burn them all.

The girls were scared as they circled around with Abrielle in front while the armed ones and magic users protected the sides.

A laugh rang in the dark a lone figure emerging. "I always knew you would be trouble, but never knew you would go this far Princess Abrielle." Penny snickered

Her eyes shone a dangerous light. Abrielle’s hands clenched, she was going to fight to the end. "What is even more interesting is that the talentless daughter now possesses magic but that would not be a problem. Isn’t that right Heather?" Penny asked

"It would not," a familiar voice answered. Heather emerged from the darkness, a dangerous aura enveloping her.
