The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband-Chapter 310: She is his alone
Chapter 310: She is his alone
The morning court came to an end, and Eleanor left immediately, not wanting to spend a second close to that bastard. "I will take my leave now, Your Majesty." She excused herself. Kaiden nodded and she fled.
The king sighed at her withdrawal. He knew it was all a game but never expected her to step down. That wasn’t the woman he was married to. The battle for the crown has always been a dangerous one. It was a battle for power which should not get into some hands. Kaiden thought as his eyes were going to the culprit; he was certain He was behind Eleanor’s unexpected move.
Cedric was completely not bothered like it truly didn’t matter to him. He was speaking with a minister. His expression was unreadable, with a calm demeanour. The calmer Cedric is, the more dangerous he gets.
Eleanor was followed by her train of ladies in waiting. Lucian, seeing his mother’s exit, followed suit. He knew something was off, and he was going to get answers. The priestess followed behind him naturally.
The doors closed, and his voice rang. "Mother," he called out, making Eleanor stop in her tracks. She glanced behind her, her eyes meeting his curious gold eyes. If Lucian knew the kind of person his mother was he would be disappointed.
Lucian and Bernice were alike; they had a strong sense of duty. Their personalities mirrored Kaiden’s. Lucian caught up with his mother looking very concerned. "What happened?" He asked.
"It’s a misunderstanding. Just as I said Abrielle didn’t do it." She explained. She was exhausted and wanted to get to her chambers to vent.
"I know, mother. I know Astrid did." Lucian’s voice dropped very low only Eleanor could hear. Her eyes went wide, her tongue-tied. "But why..."
"I know you wanted to make a move to get the Nightshade against Cedric. I didn’t pay attention because of what Cedric did to Astrid. I know it is wrong but he ruined her honour, almost taking her life. There were other ways to play the game but he chose otherwise. What I don’t understand is why you backed out?" Eleanor was not expecting this, she didn’t know Lucian had this side of him.
What did she expect? He was a Von Drakkar? "I didn’t play my cards right and he won for now. It’s just the beginning."
Back inside the court hall Cedric just finished talking with the minister and was about to leave. He was tired of the palace, he only came to make sure Eleanor caved in.
Everything went as planned; he always had things within his expectations, except for the ginger that drove him crazy. A rare smile subconsciously graced his lips. His face was covered with a mask, as always, a look that couldn’t be differentiated from the prince.
Close to the door, his eyes caught his in-laws, who had extended their stay in the capital because of Abrielle’s missing case. He stood knowing Rebecca had a lot of say.
"This doesn’t change a thing." The Duchess of Nightshade stated. She still blamed him for Abrielle’s situation. No matter how she looked at it, Cedric’s actions forced Abrielle to an edge.
Up till now, only Cedric knew of the possibility that Abrielle might have planned everything herself. He would rather not make that knowledge public giving Rebecca more reason to justify her hatred.
"I know, I only found it unsettling she was being framed." He replied, his demeanour still calm. This pissed Rebecca off; he was still calm when her daughter was only God knows what hellish reality suffering. He failed Abrielle as a husband.
"The least you can do is find her because if we do first. I don’t care whatever royal law there is, my daughter would never go back to you." She spat, her eyes filled with disdain. Cedric’s gaze dulled, his calmness finally cracking.
"You are in no place to take my wife away." He drawled, holding back his rage. He knew this might be something Abrielle wanted but his selfishness won’t let him. She was his. After all, he hadn’t enacted his vengeance for how she played him
When he does, she would be trapped. He would keep her in chains and give her the sweetest torture ever, day in and day out. She would cry and beg for him to stop when her body couldn’t handle it anymore, but he would go on. He would go on until her scent was merged with his
He will make her love the pain that comes with him. In the same way, he loves the pain of loving her. He was going to stamp it on her brain: she was his and could be only his. No one can stop him from having her, not even herself.
"You call her your wife yet you could not protect her." Rebecca sneered, and a sinister smile graced Cedric’s lips. He glanced at Pierre who was busy discussing with another duke.
"Isn’t it about time you head back to Vesper? You can’t be away for too long, you never know what might happen." He chimed then walked past Rebecca. Rebecca turned around eyes wide. "Are you threatening us?" She asked through her gritted teeth.
Cedric shrugged. "Think of it in whatever way. I had told the truth." He didn’t even glance back as he replied and marched through the door. Her fist balled, She was going to separate her sweet angel from him and send her far away where he couldn’t find her.
Cedric made his way out of the palace, and Elias briskly walked behind to catch up to him. "There has been an update on the princess," Elias informed him.
"What is it?" Cedric’s tone was neutral like he was asking about the weather. "Aurora has been able to get some information based on your instructions. She is waiting in the carriage." Elias relayed. Cedric subtly nodded.
He got to the carriage, the door was held up for him as he entered. The wheels started to roll as soon as the doors closed.
"What were you able to find?" He asked, looking across to Aurora, who sat opposite him. She was his most resourceful informant.
"I did find something but its importance depends on how you perceive it."
