Chapter 652: He died

Elliana sat there, surprised, all her struggle immediately stopped when she looked at what happened.

No. No. No. This wasn’t true.

There was no way this happened.

Nathaniel, who had been pushed away, felt his heart aching terribly as if someone was stabbing him straight in his chest and he turned to look at where Elliana was. He looked at everything in disbelief.

He looked at the way her legs were bleeding along with her hands as she tried to stand. It was almost as if the pain was numbed and she didn’t care about anything else, no pain in the world.

Elliana stood despite his magna boundation, the strings that had been stopping her earlier suffocating Nathaniel as it wrapped against his throat.

He fell on his knees, his hand wrapped around his throat as he struggled while Elliana took every step.

"Son!" King Eros immediately rushed to his son as he helped him to remove the magna boundation on Elliana.

No one dared to make a sound.

Even Azrael, who had a momentary change of heart and wanted to stop the machine but didn’t know how to do it, looked at the girl on the field with a fast-beating heart.

Everything went still.

People were in mourning. They wanted to scream and express their pain, but no one dared to make a sound in front of their princess.

A few seconds ago~~

Sebastian, who saw his wife crawling towards the spot where Nathaniel was standing, felt his heart breaking into thousands of shards.

He knew what this brother-and-sister relationship meant to her. No word that came out of her mouth was a lie.

If something happened to Nathaniel because of her, she would really lose her soul and live the rest of her life like a dead body.

He didn’t want that to happen.

Sebastian looked at his crawling and crying wife who was wailing like someone who already lost her family, and clenched his fists.

’What do you say?’ Sebastian asked his beast because it involved his life too and the beast nodded in agreement.

’I won’t be able to see my wife dying slowly and every day either. We ought to stop it. Besides, it’s just a witch’s power, right? Aren’t they useless to us? We will take the attack and come out of it unscathed, and even if we get wounded, it won’t be life-threatening, right?’ The beast answered and Sebastian gulped.

He looked at his wife one last time before muttering I Love you in her direction. As soon as he saw the energy magna being released from the machine, he didn’t waste a single second and pushed the man away using his vampire speed and closed his eyes.

He knew it was his end.

When Elliana was talking to Nathaniel about what kind of attack this was, he had his mind barrier on, and thus, his beast hadn’t heard what they talked about.

This was the kind of attack that contained the negative soul powers of 1000 rogue vampires and many witches that died over the course of time, and thus, they were bound to affect him terribly.

’I am fulfilling my promise, princess. For you, I will die. You can do nothing wrong in my eyes,’ Sebastian closed his eyes as the Magna ball hit him, not even giving him the chance to shout in agony.

As Elliana continued to walk towards where her husband had stood just a couple of seconds ago, she bent and grabbed the mask he was wearing, roaming her index finger on top of it slowly.

She was the one who had given him this mask to wear today. She was the one who readied him to fight this battle, to risk his life. It was she who put everyone’s life in danger.

He probably didn’t even want to fight, but for her, he came forward and fought the battle.

For her. It was all for her and because of her.

Elliana raised her tearful eyes, her gaze falling on the broken armor shield lying at some distance. The blood and flesh on the armor made her fingers tremble as she crawled towards the armor with her heart beating fast.

This...this was her husband’s Armour.

Why was it lying here like this? If it was here, how would her husband protect himself from the incoming attacks?

No. She needed to help her husband put this armor back.

As Elliana continued to walk ahead, she kept on picking things that her husband had wearing earlier. The more she picked, the more her heart trembled as she walked forward towards the mass of trees that had fallen in a pile.

"Elliana -" Nathaniel wanted to step ahead and comfort his sister, but Azura held his hand.

She didn’t say anything. She just kept looking at her daughter who looked like she was losing her sanity as she picked every single thing. Blood was dripping down her hands as she continued to move forward.

As much as she wanted to comfort her daughter, she knew it wasn’t the right thing.

"Mr. Marino, are you hiding there? It’s a nice strategy to keep yourself from being scolded," Elliana chuckled as she wiped her tears that weren’t stopping from rolling down her cheeks.

He was surely hiding from her because he stood in front of the attack and risked his life even after the promise. She told herself.

"Okay, enough with your drama. You need to get up and wear your gear again. We have a war to end. Don’t forget your promise. You said we will get out of it alive. How can you hide there and leave me to fight on my own? Aren’t you being too much?" Elliana asked as she stepped ahead and started pushing the tree off the pile.

Lucas and Ambrose, who felt their mind link breaking with their boss, stood there, unable to move as they looked at their princess trying to push the trees.

The broken mind link was a clear indication that their boss was not alive anymore. He left them. He chose death.

No. He chose his wife’s life over his. He chose her happiness over his. But did he really make the right decision?

They looked at their princess and Lucas’s heart broke even more.

"I... I don’t think I can watch it," Lucas turned around, placing his fist in front of his mouth to stop the crying sound from coming out.

No one was feeling sane anymore. No comfort could make up for the loss they suffered today.

What kind of subordinates were they? How could they be still alive and their king died first?

"I... I don’t want to live anymore. What kind of subordinate or friend I am? My...my sir is lying there dead, and I... How dare I live? How dare I take another breath when my sir stopped breathing? I must die too," Lucas snatched the katana from Ambrose’s hand and raised it in the air to kill himself. freewёbnoνel.com

However, before the sword could go through his chest, Garry held the sword and slapped him hard.

"Stop it! You are not the only one in pain!" Harry shouted as he pushed Lucas away to the ground, making the man break down immediately.

Lucas slapped himself. This was the punishment for breathing without his boss and staying alive.

Elliana, on the other hand, kept pushing the trees away.

It was hard. Her hands were bleeding as she pushed the third tree with determination to bring her husband out from that pile.

"Just wait a little longer, Mr. Marino. I will bring you out. Are you really stuck? I know no one is helping me here, but I don’t need their help either. My powers and strength are enough to protect you. Don’t be afraid. Hang in there," Elliana took a deep shaky breath as the branch went straight through her hand, making blood drip from her hand.

However, that didn’t stop her from pushing trees.

She kept pushing hard until she removed the last bit of the tree from above her husband.

Azura’s lips trembled at her daughter’s determination as she turned around to hide her sobs.

As soon as Elliana saw the condition her husband was in, a whimper left her mouth as she fell to the ground.

Azura and others who also saw Sebastian’s condition, blinked their eyes, shedding tears while Azrael’s hand trembled.

Azura hid her face in her husband’s chest, the pain of her daughter, bit too much for her to handle.
