Chapter 651: For one more breath

’Promise me you will never think of killing yourself or sacrificing yourself in this war. That you will think of me too before taking any big decision,’ Elliana remembered Mr. Marino’s words as she felt the energy magna becoming bigger and bigger.

She blinked her eyes, the black Magna in front of her resonating her death.

They had enough time to step away from in front of it, but anyone with Witch powers knowledge knew that someone powerful needed to take the impact or it would destroy the entire field and kill all the innocent people even if the powerful ones escaped with only major wounds.

Elliana turned to look at her husband, who was briefly shocked and rooted to his place.

’I am sorry, Mr. Marino. I am sorry for breaking my promise this time. Please remember that you are the only person I love for eternity. I have nothing to offer you other than an apology. This wasn’t how I planned things either, but maybe this is it for us.

I know I might sound a bit selfish here, but will you name your daughter Elliana if you ever get remarried again? Even if you don’t want to, because you will hate me after what I am doing today, please don’t hate me too much. My soul might not be able to bear it,’ Elliana recorded the message in her heart.

She closed her eyes, placing her hand in the middle of her chest.

If this attack will really be as drastic as the elemental witches told her, maybe her body would be shredded to pieces because of how low her Magna and countering power was. She could only hope that this message would reach her husband after her death.

She pushed Ari away with her Magna so that she wouldn’t have to take any aftermath of the attack either.

"Leave!" Elliana shouted for everyone who might be standing behind her.

She didn’t want her sacrifice to be useless.

If another person would get hurt even after her taking the blow, would this sacrifice be any meaningful?

"Dad, I wish for Nathaniel to take over the dark witch kingdom after my death. This is my last wish. Please don’t neglect him anymore. He also deserves everyone’s love. He suffered a lot because of you, because of me, please let him have a little happiness," Elliana told her father, who wanted to step ahead to protect his daughter but Yaretzi held his hand.

"What are you doing?! Let me go!" King Eros shouted at the witch, tears brimming his eyes as he looked at his daughter who was going to sacrifice herself.

"Your Magna or Queen Azura’s magna isn’t enough anymore to protect and save it or her," Yaretzi said, and King Eros looked at his hands.

He used 95% of his magna in protecting everyone along with Elliana and then healing his daughter. The major restoration will need at least a day. But did he really have a day?

He looked at the five elemental witches, but no one stepped ahead to save his daughter, and tears rolled down his cheeks.

What was the use of this pathetic life if he couldn’t save his daughter?

"What is she saying, Azura? We can’t save our daughter?" King Eros looked at his wife, who was already wailing in agony.

Elliana clenched her eyes shut, ready to bear it.

’I always loved you all,’ She whispered one last time before exhaling a shaky breath.

However, Nathaniel had other plans.

Without wasting another second, he immediately appeared right in front of her, making her open her eyes abruptly when she felt the familiar energy.

"Nathaniel! What are you doing?!" Elliana looked at her half-brother in disbelief.

He only smiled at her before shaking his head.

"Did you really think I would let you die? Have you forgotten the words that I used to tell you before we found out we were half-siblings? I will protect you with my life," Nathaniel hugged Elliana one last time before using his magna to push her far away, making her body slide backward as she hit a tree and fell on the ground.

"Nathaniel!" Elliana extended her hand in agony, finding it hard to stand.

No. No. No. She couldn’t let it happen. Elliana tried to stand but the more she tried, the more troubled she felt. Nathaniel locked her teleportation too.

Heat rushed to her head as realization dawned upon her. Elliana looked around helplessly.

"Take me there!" She said to the vampires standing beside her, but the vampires just looked down at their feet, making her widen her eyes.

They weren’t listening to her.

"Do you not know who I am? I said take me there!" Elliana struggled to stand, her heart thumping loudly as she looked between the machine where that energy ball was only becoming bigger and bigger and Nathaniel, who stood there without moving.

"Nathaniel! Please step away from there. You have your entire life in front of you! Don’t you guys know? I will die in a month anyway. The chances of my survival are next to nil. Please step away from there, Nathaniel. I beg you," Elliana cried, as she tried to crawl towards where Nathaniel was standing helplessly.

No one wanted to help her. No one wanted to take her to stand in front of the attack and get killed uselessly.

Nathaniel just smiled.

"My life never held any meaning for anyone, Elliana. I was always the hated mixed-breed witch. My own people looked at me with malign. But you, you gave me meaning.

Protecting you and caring for you for the rest of my life was my only agenda after I saw you. There was no other purpose left for me. What would I do if something happened to you? I will die either way," Nathaniel said, his gaze shifting to his father.

King Eros fell to the ground.

There was no bigger loser in this field right now other than him. What kind of father was he who couldn’t protect his children who were dying for everyone, the same people who weren’t even daring to help them?

"Can you tell me you loved me a little before I die?" Nathaniel asked as Elliana shook her head, wiping her tears furiously.

"Dad, tell him to stop. Please, tell him to remove his magna from around me. He shouldn’t be the one standing there," Elliana whispered as she cried while King Eros nodded at his son.

"I have always loved you, my son. Even though I acted harshly and had to send you away from the kingdom, my love never ceased to end for you. You were always my most cherished and proud asset," King Eros said, his tears dropping on the ground as he didn’t dare to face his son.

His fists clenched around the stained grass as he cried in agony.

He didn’t think he would be able to bear any of his children dying like this.

"Elliana, do you remember the first time we played near those caves when I taught you how to ride a horse? You fell and cried so much. Do you remember what I said to you at that time?" Nathaniel asked Elliana, who shook her head.

She remembered what he said.

"I am sorry, princess. I know you will have to suffer many hardships to become strong, but I promise, any problem will have to hit me first before reaching you. You will always find me protecting you. Because you are my moon and my sun,"

These were the exact words Nathaniel had said to her.

Elliana shook her head, but Nathaniel only smiled.

"Even if my death today gives you atleast one more day to live, I will happily die," Nathaniel smiled proudly, breaking Elliana’s heart even more.

Azrael, on the other hand, who saw this display of affection, felt something shift in her heart for the first time.

Her heart ached terribly as she saw Elliana begging to be on that spot that would decide her death while Nathaniel stood there resolutely.

She could see Elliana’s healing reversing and her bleeding profusely as she tried to act against Nathaniel’s powers, but even after that, she was trying to reach forward and save her brother who was ready to die for her to have that one more breath.

Was this what was supposed to be called sibling love? The love that the sisters never shared for each other? Her eyes brimmed with tears.

Elliana sniffed hard, coughing blood as she struggled against the magic that Nathaniel put on her to stop her from getting there.

"Nathaniel, please step away from there. I beg you. I won’t be able to live with myself if something happens to you today. You won’t be dying alone, you will take away my soul too. Please," Elliana hit the ground helplessly.

"Nathaniel, please, I love you too. Don’t die for me. You are -" Elliana paused, her eyes widening when she saw the Energy Magna ball finally being released from the machine.

"Nathaniel!" Everyone shouted simultaneously as the guy closed his eyes, embracing death for his sister whom he loved the most in this world.

However, right before the Magna ball aura could touch him, he felt someone pushing him away at the last second, throwing him away.

Everyone gasped at what happened.

Blast! The large sound echoed in the environment, shushing every other sound in nature.
