The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride-Chapter 598: A witch among them
Chapter 598: A witch among them
"Is it ready?" Sebastian asked the first thing he stepped down the stairs and looked straight at Miss Zoya.
The caretaker nodded, her gaze flickering to the girl who was caught openly staring at the princess. And naturally, as expected of their king, it didn’t slip his observation either.
Miss Zoya nudged the girl quickly, who nodded and stepped ahead before sitting on her knees.
"Please forgive me, my highness. I had no intention of staring at the Princess. I was merely intrigued by her enchanting and celestial beauty because this was my first time seeing someone so beautiful. Please forgive my mistake this one time," The girl rushed ahead and grabbed Sebastian’s foot to plead, making Mizz Zoya widen her eyes.
"Sofia! What the -" Miss Zoya gulped, her gaze shifting towards the corridor when she felt a domineering presence suddenly overshadowing everyone’s.
"What’s going on here?" It was Elliana’s voice.
However, it was definitely not their innocent and cute princess’s voice. It was the voice of the next in line Queen of the dark witches who was definitely not pleased with what she was seeing.
Sebastian also froze in his place.
After having such lovely moments with his wife, angering her or spoiling her mood was the last thing on his mind.
"Princess, why are you awake already? I told you to rest -" Sebastian stopped talking when he looked into her violet eyes, her gaze shifting to his face briefly before it went to the girl who was still shamelessly holding his foot.
"Princess Elliana, it’s all my fault. Please punish me for the sin. Actually, when Our Highness brought you out of the bathroom and placed you on the bed, you looked very enchanting and I couldn’t keep my gaze away from you. I offended the King unintentionally. Please forgive me and -" The girl started, making Elliana tilt her head.
"I still fail to understand what part of that needs you to cling to my husband like this," Elliana said, her voice deep and full of power.
Originally Sebastian wanted to kick the girl away and remove her from the duties in the black skull palace as soon as he saw her gawking at his wife and now holding his foot, but now, seeing his wife becoming so possessive, he was kind of waiting to see what else she was going to do.
"I... I wanted to plead for forgiveness," Sofia said and Elliana hummed.
"In that case, go ahead. Don’t mind me," She walked by Sebastian, without looking at him, making the man pout.
"Are you not going to say anything?" He looked at her, his expression disappointed
Elliana scoffed.
"Are you enjoying it?" Elliana asked.
"Of course, not," Sebastian said, almost exclaiming and Elliana smiled.
"In that case, no one shall be allowed to make you uncomfortable," Elliana looked down at the girl, waiting for her to understand the signal.
When Miss Zoya noticed that the girl had no intention of leaving their king’s foot anytime soon, and it was probably angering the princess now, which was indirectly unhealthy for the entire Kingdom, she rushed forward, but before she could hold her hand, Elliana looked at the lady, stopping her where she was.
She didn’t dare to move under their princess’s hard glare.
"You can give up on your facade," Elliana said to no one in particular, and as soon as she said that Sebastian bent down before grabbing Sofia’s hair and slamming her on the wall.
Everyone in the room jerked in their place, keeping their heads bowed, not daring to make a sound.
They didn’t know what was going on, and thus, they immediately thought that it was all because the maid dared to look at their princess for more than five seconds.
However, what they didn’t know was that the matter was worse than this.
"King Sebastian, please let go of me. I will do my work diligently. Please give me this one chance. I am the only breadwinner at my home. Please, I beg you," Sofia’s eyes brimmed with tears.
Miss Zoya clenched her hands by her side.
She knew this was nothing new for their King, but for once, she felt it was unfair to them.
The little girl was only looking at the princess because she looked beautiful to her, and nothing more. Why were they creating such a big ruckus out of it? This was truly humiliating, especially, when she was the one who recruited this girl yesterday.
She was in the market to shop for the vegetables along with the chef when she noticed her almost getting beaten by the loan sharks.
At that time, she was filled with pity and feared that the loan sharks would really kill the girl, or worse sell her if she wouldn’t be able to pay them back. That was the reason she decided to bring her to the black skull palace in hopes that their king would understand.
But seeing their King acting like this was truly-
"Truly?" Lucas asked as he entered the palace, making Elliana’s eyes beam immediately.
"Respect to the Princess," Lucas bowed to her briefly before looking at Miss Zoya.
"Why don’t you complete your thoughts, Miss Zoya? How bad does it look in your eyes? You have been working in the royal palace for how many years? Everything happens here for a reason. Let’s forget about our King who is madly in love with our princess, but do you really think that our princess would be that heartless?" Lucas asked, making Miss Zoya realize that her mind barrier was down and probably everyone heard her thoughts.
The old caretaker immediately looked down at her feet, ashamed of her own thoughts and words.
"I... I didn’t mean to -" She started but stopped when Lucas raised his hand, a clear indication that she should stop talking.
Elliana, who had been quiet since earlier, finally looked back at Sofia, who was still begging to keep this job.
She was losing her patience already.
"Was it Arizona or Azura?" Elliana finally asked, not wanting to keep her facade up.
Sofia’s pupils dilated, but rather than giving up, she continued.
"Princess Elliana, I don’t have any idea what you are talking about. Who is Arizona and Azura? I don’t know any such witches," Sofia said and Elliana scoffed.
"Is that so? How come it’s possible that you got instilled in the kingdom just yesterday, yet you know that Azura and Arizona are the witches I am talking about? I mean, this news isn’t open to the public and I am sure none of the servants, maids, or soldiers shared this much information either. So unless you are with Lucas and Ambrose -" Elliana looked at the panicked expression on Sofia.
Lucas and Ambrose - "..." We didn’t do anything.
"Well, maybe this has become public knowledge. I am lacking quite some Magna these days. Then I guess, you won’t have a problem if I steal some of your aura, right? Since you are just a normal vampire, it won’t affect you and will come back within a couple of days," Elliana said.
Sofia pressed her lips into a thin line as she shook her head repeatedly.
"No. I have no idea what you are talking about, but I can’t lose any aura or energy. I am the sole breadwinner of my family -"
"Shut up, will you?" Elliana asked.
Honestly, she had felt her presence in the room the moment Mr. Marino brought her out of the room and she was present there.
The witch probably was shocked because she didn’t expect to meet her so quickly and thus, she ended up releasing some of her Magna to hide her identity even more.
Naturally, neither Elliana nor Sebastian would’ve recognized her, but it was all because of the use of extra Magna that their attention was shifted to her.
"I will ask you one more time. Was it Azura or Arizona?" Elliana asked.
Seeing how the girl was still unyielding, she sighed and walked to the girl.
She grabbed her hand and closed her eyes.
Seeing her Magna being stolen like this right in front of her eyes, Sofia’s facade finally started to come off.
"Fine. Don’t do it. I will tell you the truth. Just leave my f*cking hand!" Sofia raised her voice, her timid facade long gone and Elliana smiled.
"Nothing can be done. Now that I have started to absorb the Magna, my powers have started to like it and I don’t think they will stop before sucking everything," Elliana said.
"I said stop it, you bitch!" Sofia immediately used her magna to push Elliana away. Though her hit wasn’t life-threatening to Elliana who was quite more powerful than her, it still pushed Elliana away with a jerk.
Elliana could’ve fallen on her butt if not for Sebastian who held her right in time.
Miss Zoya’s eyes widened as she looked at the true nature of the girl she thought needed dire help.
She couldn’t believe her eyes and her gaze immediately shifted from anger to concern before taking over with guilt.
