The Growth of a Titan-Chapter 451- Did I Go Too Far?
Chapter 451: Chapter 451- Did I Go Too Far?
Althorne was someone who believed that by controlling his emotions he could control those around him and the world.
Cian knew this because he had known Althorne for a very long time, and during that period he had never seen him lose composure. In every situation, Althorne would be wearing a calm smile.
However, what he saw just now was something that went against all of that.
To be able to break Althorne’s façade, Cian realized Sol was playing the same game as Althorne, but better. He was also similar to Althorne in regard to his ever-smiling expression. However, while Althorne would wear a natural smile as he hid his true intentions behind it, Sol would smile genuinely while hiding his intentions within it.
Their actions sounded the same, but they were completely different. Cian had just witnessed it for himself as the two clashed against each...
Suddenly, Cian’s thoughts trailed off as he came to realize something about this situation.
’Isn’t this just the two of them competing to see who can be more shameless?’
Cian forced a smile. Why did he make it sound like these two were some great schemers just now? They were, but in the end, they’re just being shameless. And as it turns out, Sol was more shameless than Althorne could manage.
Over there, Sol was still messing with Althorne who had already recovered his composed smile. After placing his hands in his wide sleeves, Althorne with an unchanging expression asked.
"Big Brother Sol, are you always like this with everyone you meet?"
Pulling Althorne’s cheek Sol responded.
"No, just small, adorable things." fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Althorne’s fists clenched in his sleeves.
"Is that so, but Big Brother Sol, I don’t think I’m that small or adorable."
"Haha, is that so?"
Sol chuckled and continued what he was doing.
"..."
"Big Brother Sol..."
"Hm?"
"Are you finished?"
"No."
Althorne suddenly became silent while Sol continued to pull his cheeks. He stayed like this for a few breaths’ worth of time, however, his heart suddenly jolted as he felt his face going numb. He also realized Sol had no intention of stopping.
"Big Brother Sol..."
"Hm?"
"How many times do I have to address you as ’Big Brother’ to get you to stop?"
"Hmmm..."
Sol’s flushed face wore a thoughtful look, but his hands never stopped moving. After a moment he said.
"I’ll stop if you call me Big Brother a few more times."
At first, Sol was just trying to break Althorne’s act, but as time went on, he started to get into pinching Althorne’s cheeks.
Maybe it was because of the alcohol or maybe it had something to do with Althorne being from the Church that brought up memories, but teasing Althorne by pinching his cheeks reminded him of Amon.
’I remember when I used to often tease Amon and Farlon like this, but when I try doing it to Alma, she would always get shy and run away. I think she was too embarrassed to be seen getting spoiled by Amon.’
Unbeknownst to Sol, a real smile crept onto the corner of his lips. A flurry of emotions erupted in his heart. He always tried not to think about the children who were taken from his village because he would start to worry about their safety. He would also start to get impatient and have thoughts of heading to the Western Wasteland to search for them.
However, each time this thought popped into his head, he would be reminded of how weak he was. Going as he was now wouldn’t change anything, but at the same time, he felt like his decision to stay here and get stronger was him abandoning them.
Sol felt his nose sting and he distracted himself from crying by pinching Althorne’s cheeks even more.
Althorne’s fists clenched even tighter in his sleeves. He was so angered he felt like his heart was going to burst in his chest. He was being treated like a child so blatantly. Not once had anyone ever dared to treat him like this, and not once had he ever been on the losing end to this extent. This wasn’t just Sol messing with him, he was being utterly and thoroughly humiliated.
Althorne clenched his fists until his knuckles turned white. However, they suddenly loosen. Then, plastering the happiest smile he could muster onto his face, he looked up at Sol and asked in a somewhat childish and adorable voice.
"Big Brother Sol, can you stop teasing me, please?"
"Cough! Cough! Cough!"
Cian suddenly started coughing by the side upon seeing Althorne’s actions. Meanwhile, Sol’s hand unconsciously froze, and he looked at Althorne slightly taken aback by him acting so adorably.
’Did I go too far?’
Sol took a step back from Althorne before he turned his head to the side and coughed in his hand. Afterward, he then said.
"You didn’t have to do that... Sorry."
Sol felt that he had to apologize, even for him that was too embarrassing to watch.
Althorne was already hit with Cian’s coughing but when he saw Sol’s reaction his cheeks turned bright red, and his body started trembling. However, whether it was from intense embarrassment or anger it was hard to tell. Perhaps it was both.
"What’s that smell? Is it wine?"
At that moment, a chirpy voice sounded at the end of the hallway.
Sol, Cian, and Althorne turn to the end of the hallway to see two female disciples approaching. Both were extremely beautiful and looked to be in their late teens.
With one glance at the two girls, one could immediately tell they weren’t disciples with ordinary backgrounds.
The girl to the left had flowing black hair that swayed as she walked with an upright posture. She wore a blue female cultivation robe to go along with her cold expression and the slightly frigid aura around her.
She seemed to be a cold beauty in every sense of the word. However, Sol could tell that this frigid aura around her wasn’t from the cold, but from poisons.
However, the girl on the right, the one who had just spoken, was the complete opposite. She wore a bright yellow female cultivation robe while a cheerful expression naturally rested on her face. Her black hair was tied behind her with a yellow hairpin nestled inside.
If the girl on the left was the moon at midnight in winter, this girl was the high-noon sun in summer.
