「Welcome back, Lady Mira.」
「I’m back, Mariana.」
As soon as Mira arrived at the tower, Mariana came out to greet her. She had already started the preparations for dinner, as an appetite inducing aroma wafted from inside.
Luna also came out running and jumped into Mira’s arms, while Mariana began getting ready to take a bath. By now, she already knew that Mira liked to take a bath before eating, which was also why the basic preparations for dinner were already done, so the food would be ready shortly after they got out of the bath.
After her return to the tower, Mira had never taken a bath alone again. Because of that, she also took off her clothes almost out of habit, though she was still unable to look at Mariana directly when she was naked, as a different type of emotion than usual would get in the way of Mira’s vulgar nature.
It was a strange situation, as Mira still remembered all of the other women she had seen in public baths, staring at their bare bodies as much as she wanted.
Mira and Mariana settled into the warm water as Luna practiced her swimming in front of them. The bathroom was unusually spacious—far larger than most personal ones—providing plenty of room for all of them.
「And so, I’ll have to leave tomorrow. It’ll be a while before I’m back again, but I’ll call you when I have time.」
Mira mentioned that, while watching Luna who was getting better at swimming each day.
「I understand. I’ll have to pack a lunchbox tomorrow then.」
Mariana leaned against Mira, looking slightly dreary, but then tried to cheer herself up. She was well aware of how important Mira’s work was. And Mira knew that the lunchbox would be delightful.
「I’m definitely looking forward to that.」
Mariana had already figured out Mira’s favorite foods, and she was more motivated than usual, so Mira knew she could expect a luxurious feast. As Mira began to dream about that, a squeak demanded her attention shortly after.
It was Luna, who was currently helming a toy ship, skillfully steering it to approach the two, her eyes filled with expectation as she looked at Mariana. It seemed like she also wanted to have a special lunch the next day.
「Alright, I’ll also prepare a special mix for you, Luna.」
Luna’s technique of pleading with beady eyes had worked, as even Mariana could not resist that much cuteness.
「You’ll be eating good too, Luna. Good for you.」
Mira also fell for it, and could not stop herself from picking up Luna and rubbing her cheek on the soft animal. Mariana just smiled softly as she watched that interaction.
Once they were done with the bath, they changed into comfortable bathrobes and Mira went to sit on the living room’s couch, playing with Luna for around ten minutes. Meanwhile, Mariana was setting up the table with delicious food.
「Ohh! There’s a bigger variety than usual tonight!」
The main dish was a burger dripping with cheese, followed by various side dishes that had a colorful balance of meat and vegetables. Some of them were so elaborate that it was clear Mariana had started cooking much earlier than usual to get it all done on time.

「Yes, I tried to amp up the variety for tonight.」
Mariana said that, sounding proud of herself. She really seemed to have put all her effort into cooking that feast.
That was going to be Mira’s last dinner before heading out on her journey, and Mariana had guessed as much when Solomon called that morning. That was why she pulled no stops when preparing that dinner.
Her attention to detail did not stop at the food either, but spread to the room as a whole. She had redecorated everything, making sure everything looked aesthetically cohesive, while following certain beliefs like metallic sounds warding off evil, as all the tableware was made of metal.
As Mira looked around the room, she noticed some other changes from how it looked in the morning. Mariana had really thought about everything.
Mira had learned a few things about that from Solomon, but even if she did not know the meaning behind every single decision, in an odd way, the feelings put behind it were all clear to her. Like the frog shaped ornament next to the entrance, which seemed to be wishing for Mira to come back soon and safely.
After dinner, they just spent some time relaxing, talking about how their days went over tea, while watching Luna play in the sandpit.
They spoke about all sorts of unimportant things. Mira mentioned how she went to the castle and received a new outfit, and Mariana smiled saying it fit her really well.
Then, Mariana mentioned how she went shopping with Luna, and how Luna took more than ten minutes picking fruits as snacks, and Mira laughed at Luna’s gluttony.
Talking like that had become their routine at night. They would always talk about random and little things, without any set rules or point to it all. But it was still fun to spend time like that, and it was something they both appreciated too.
「Ah, and a little after that, I met a man who was looking for you.」
As Mariana related how she bought a bunch of grapes, she recalled something else. Mira then wondered who that could have been, and Mariana said she wondered the same and asked him.
「He told me he was a sales manager for the Grimoire Company. He said he really wanted to ask you for permission to turn you into a card, or something like that…」
Mariana had figured out what that man wanted, but she did not understand what he meant by turning Mira into a card. While she was confused by it, Mira quickly figured it out.
「Wait, could that mean…!」
She opened her Item Box and took out a card she had in there. It was the card of Legend of Astelia she had obtained in the past, which had led her to know about the Phantom Thief Fuzzy Dice.
「Yes, I knew it!」
She checked the card, and saw that it actually had Grimoire Company written in a corner. Seeing that, she grinned realizing that after her card as Danbulf, it was finally time to have one as her current self. And more importantly, if her card was powerful as well, it would also lead to more appreciation for summoners.
Sadly, she was leaving the next morning, so she did not have enough time to find that sales manager.
「So you see here, that man…」
All Mira could do was show the card to Mariana and explain to her what it was, telling her about the game Legend of Astelia, how it was played with cards, and what the sales manager meant by turning Mira into a card.
「I see, I understand now. And so you’d get a card too…」
Legend of Astelia was like a simulated battle between famous adventurers, heroes, and other similar characters, turned into cards on top of a table that served as their battlefield. And because the cards were based on real people, the Grimoire Company needed their permission to depict them like that.
