Chapter 75: Finally Arrived At Opal City

At Opal City.

After nearly three hours of flying, their plane landed in Opal City.

Aurora prefers not to stay at her parent’s house because it feels unfamiliar and does not feel like home. Furthermore, she heard that only her father’s butler, Neil, stays there.

However, she permitted Tina to visit the house to see Neil since they were long-time friends.

"Aunty, just call me if you need anything," Aurora said while heading to the car that would take Tina home.

"Okay, ma’am. But promise me you’ll stop by tomorrow morning before you visit your parents’ graves?" Tina asked just before she got into the car.

"Sure, Aunty, I’ll stop by to pick you up." Aurora smiled warmly, happy Tina would have a chance to meet her old crush. "Aunty, enjoy your time with Uncle Neil."

Tina felt her cheeks warm up right away. Although she didn’t say anything, she nodded slightly before hopping into the car, hoping to escape any more playful teasing from Aurora.

...

"Shall we head directly to the hotel, ma’am?"

Aurora shifted her gaze from Tina’s moving vehicle to Josh, who sat beside the driver.

Noticing that their car had also left the private airport, she immediately asked him to head to the Lorenzo Romano Law Firm office.

She had already received a text message from Lorenzo asking her to meet him promptly after she arrived in this city.

When she asked Lorenzo why he wanted to see her so badly, he didn’t provide a clear answer. Instead, he begged her to visit him as soon as possible.

Lorenzo’s intriguing attitude sparked her curiosity even more, making her wonder if something interesting had happened in this city.

As their car sped toward the Lorenzo Romano Law Firm, she tried to piece together what was happening. However, the only thought that crossed her mind was related to her father’s will.

James Spencer was the eldest son of the Spencer family in this city; he had two brothers and a sister. Strangely, despite having an uncle and an aunt, Aurora Spencer’s memories revealed that she was not close to her father’s family.

Everything about the Spencer family felt strange to Aurora, and she was eager to meet the lawyer to discuss the matter—he might have information about them.

She knew that Uncle Lorenzo was her father’s best friend, and that person might not betray her. Right?

Soon after, their car halted before a ten-story building. While not exceptionally high, the building’s exterior exudes luxury, fitting for its status as Opal City’s premier law firm.

"Ma’am, I will go in with you..." Josh’s words sounded more like a declaration than a request for consent.

Aurora simply nodded as she exited the car. She understood that this man would not hear her refusal.

Regardless, she needed Josh with her since it was her first time visiting this place, and she was uncertain about what awaited inside.

In the lobby, they were warmly greeted by a woman with shoulder-length black hair, dressed in a lovely red silk shirt and a chic A-line skirt that beautifully hugged her sexy hips.

"Miss Spencer, we’re delighted to have you here. I’m Maya, Mr. Romano’s secretary. He’s been looking forward to your arrival in his office," she warmly said, guiding them to the private elevator in the corner.

"Hi, Maya..." Aurora said with a faint smile. "I hope I didn’t make Uncle Lorenzo wait too long." She continued with some small talk.

"Oh no, not at all, Miss Spencer. You’re on time. We have estimated that you would arrive around this hour," Maya said with a warm smile, graciously inviting them to enter the elevator first.

Aurora remained quiet, yet she felt the tension from the man beside her. With a warm smile, she glanced at Josh, hoping to encourage him to feel more at ease.

Nevertheless, Josh’s expression remained unchanged until the elevator arrived on the tenth floor.

They exited the elevator and approached the room with a large oak door at the end, trailing Maya, who silently led the way.

Maya halted just in front of the door and turned to Aurora.

"Young Miss, you’re welcome to enter, but this man..." Her gaze was fixed on the tall, handsome figure beside Aurora.

Aurora promptly clarified, noticing Maya, who appeared to block Josh’s entry, "He’s my bodyguard, and he needs to come in with me..." Her words instantly transformed Maya’s calm expression into one of shock.

Maya was surprised when she discovered that the athletic and attractive man trailing Aurora was actually her bodyguard; she initially believed he was her boyfriend.

Redirecting her attention to Aurora, Maya smiled and said, "Miss, you can enter with him..." as she held the door open for them.

Aurora smiled at Maya as she stepped into the room. To her surprise, she found Lorenzo Romano, the elderly man, sitting on the lone sofa with someone she recognized facing him.

They both look in her direction with warm smiles. It makes her heart tighten with nerves and worry, and at the same time, she fears this conversation might turn ugly.

’What on earth happened here? Why is Uncle Ryan present as well?’ Aurora wonders while continuing to walk after Lorenzo calls her to join them.

Aurora’s mind raced as she tried to grasp the sight of Ryan Spencer, her third uncle, in the room when she had only expected to meet her father’s lawyer alone.

Trying to calm down, she sat on the couch with them while Josh stood near the door, leaving Lorenzo and Ryan confused.

"Aurora, you still remember your uncle, right?" Ryan Spencer broke the silence after noticing that Aurora was ignoring him.

"Uncle Ryan," Aurora said, her voice flat and a slight smile on her face. This almost pushed Ryan to frustration, but Lorenzo quickly intervened, preventing him from replying.

"Aurora, at last, you have time to see me," Lorenzo said, instantly greeting Aurora with a warm smile.

Yet, Lorenzo’s gaze was drawn to the man accompanying Aurora, who merely lingered by the door. "Aurora, who is that man?" he inquired gently.
