He remained in the room, mindful not to disturb her by lying beside her. Instead, he chose to wait for her on the sofa. She truly needed her rest right now.

The Doctor informed him that she was fatigued and running a fever, raising concerns about flu symptoms. However, they needed to monitor her condition further.

Soon after, just as Alex’s eyelids grew heavy, a faint, raspy voice from the bed roused him. He eagerly jumped up from the sofa and walked over to her.

"Are you awake? How are you feeling?" he asked softly as he settled on the side of the bed.

"I have a slight headache, and my body feels slightly heavy. What happened to me?" she asked, trying to sit up.

Alex quickly made sure she was sitting comfortably. "You have a fever..." he responded.

"Huh, I have a fever?" Aurora was surprised by this. She raised her hand to check her forehead. While she noticed she was warmer than usual, she felt completely fine.

"Hmm, you are. The Doctor who examined you confirmed that. Your temperature has decreased, but it may rise again." Alex sighed deeply, his eyes clearly reflecting his worry.

"Aurora, this is why you shouldn’t stay outside for too long in the cold," Alex gently reminded her. Her earlier stroll in the chilly mountain weather had made her feel unwell. "It would be better if you were not exposed to the cold for too long."

Aurora let out a quiet sigh. She wasn’t that weak, even though she had been exposed to the cold air for too long.

"I’ll keep that in mind," she replied, feeling powerless and not planning to dispute him. "By the way, did I pass out earlier?"

"Hmm, it’s just that you were exhausted." Alex smiled, noticing her face was no longer as pale as before; her blush had returned.

Aurora says nothing. She knows she fainted because she is mentally exhausted from what she discovered in the library.

"I spoke with Patrick, and he approved a week off for you. You need this time to rest," Alex casually said, but his words were enough to surprise Aurora.

She asked, "A week? Does it really have to be that long?"
