Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 160: He Knows?
Chapter 160: He Knows?
Pine Hill.
Aurora felt a surge of curiosity as the luxury car sped along the road toward Pine Hill.
"Alex, you’re driving unusually fast. Aren’t we going to arrive too early?" Aurora said, glancing over at Alex, who focused on driving beside her.
They were supposed to arrive there by lunch, but it wasn’t even ten o’clock yet, and they were already halfway to Pine Hill, where Alex’s parents lived.
"I want to take you somewhere else before going to my parents’ house," Alex answered calmly without looking at her. His gaze remained fixed on the road ahead.
Aurora was surprised to hear that, as she didn’t remember Alex mentioning it before.
"Oh, okay. Where are we going?" she asked with a sparkle of curiosity in her eyes.
Alex glanced at her. His lips curled into a smile when he noticed the curiosity shining in her beautiful eyes.
"You will see..." he replied before shifting his attention back to the road ahead.
Although curious, Aurora no longer asked Alex; she also turned her gaze back to the road, trying to guess where they were going.
Soon after, her cell phone vibrated, shattering the car’s silence.
Upon seeing the name "Danny" written there, Aurora furrowed her brow slightly.
This was Danny’s first call to her since her rebirth. Typically, Renata reached out to her when they needed to schedule an appointment or gossip.
Instantly, her heart trembled as she recalled their meeting from last night.
’Did he finally know about my rebirth?’ she wondered, gripping her phone excitedly.
"Good morning, Danny..." Aurora greeted him politely, attempting to maintain her composure.
"Morning..."
Silence hung in the air for a brief moment as Danny remained quiet, leaving Aurora to wonder if the connection had failed.
After confirming that the connection was still active, Aurora asked, "Why are you calling me this early, Danny?"
A long sigh echoed from the other end before Danny’s voice came through, "Rory, is that you? Really, is that you?"
Aurora felt her body tense up right away.
’Oh my lord, he knows!? Wait, why does he seem a bit uncertain?’
"Do you believe it?" Aurora asked, her heart racing now. "I’ll only be heard if you believe in it."
Danny’s breathing sounded heavy once more.
"From the moment I first met you, I felt suspicious. Yet, I always chose to suppress those feelings, which seemed unreasonable and a waste of time." Danny said. frёewebηovel.cѳm
Aurora’s hands clenched tightly when she heard Danny’s sad and confused voice. She let him finish his sentence.
"But last night, while chatting with Renata, those unusual thoughts I had always kept to myself came flooding back. I’m still puzzled about what she wanted to share with me. Plus, she seems a little off...It must have something to do with what she wanted to share."
Danny’s deep breath brought a slight smile to Aurora’s face. She imagined how annoyed and frustrated Renata must have been explaining to him last night.
"You know, I spent all night thinking over what Renata asked me to do: to think about Aurora Moon and everything about her. So, I returned to my parents’ house this morning to meet Max..."
After another brief pause, he added, "What he said to me made me start to believe that you returned to this mortal world as Aurora Spencer. You are reborn, or whatever it’s called. But your soul is truly in Aurora Spencer’s body, right?"
Aurora felt her mind warm and light when she heard Danny was finally figuring it out. Danny was undoubtedly smart, but this kind of thinking required more than being smart.
However, she needed to ensure he believed it without any doubt first; otherwise, he would never be able to listen to what she had to say.
"What did Max say to make you believe?" she asked, but she sensed a pair of eyes now clearly focused on her.
Aurora turned to see Alex and was surprised to find that they were already parked. He was intently looking at her with a frown.
’Wait, wait...? Are we in... Graystone private cemetery?’ Aurora was shocked. ’Did he bring me to visit my own grave?’ She was at a loss for words.
Aurora gestured for Alex to wait while she continued her conversation with Danny.
With a knowing smile, Alex nodded softly and gave her head a gentle pat before stepping out of the car.
"You know, what really makes me believe this is what Max said—that your personality and traits have changed rather unexpectedly."
"My what?"
"Your personality and traits. Max mentioned that it appeared someone had taken better control of Aurora Spencer, as her, well, your attitude and behavior dramatically differ from Aurora Spencer’s..."
"That’s why I suspect it was you. Please, Rory, assure me I don’t sound insane now." Danny’s pleading tone blurred her eyes, and she tried hard to hold back her happy tears.
She felt just like when Renata finally could hear her.
’God, please allow Danny to hear me, please...’ Aurora whispered a heartfelt prayer before finally opening up to him.
"Danny, yes, it’s me, Rory! I know what happened to me was truly bizarre for any logical person. But it did happen." She chuckled slightly before continuing.
"When my tragic incident happened, I remembered myself burning in my car. I thought I would end up dead and wake up in the afterlife, but to my shock, I woke up in this mortal world inside this beautiful Aurora Spencer body instead..."
Aurora paused for a while; she tried to hear his response, but no sound could be heard from the other end.
"Did you hear me? Why are you so quiet?" she asked with concern, noticing that Danny hadn’t answered yet.
"I hear you, Rory, I hear you," Danny’s voice trembled slightly, and she sensed the shock he must be feeling. "I want to meet you, Rory. Please..."
"I apologize, but I can’t today. I’m heading to my in-laws’ and want to visit my dad. Can we meet on Monday instead?"
"Sure, let’s plan to meet on Monday. I’ll be at Serendipity waiting for you!"
