Chapter 152: He Allowed Her To Visit Stone House

A few days later.

Finally, Friday arrived, and the autumn chill became more noticeable as November set in.

Not much happened for Aurora over the past few days. She spent most of her days in the office assisting Patrick.

However, just like before, Patrick didn’t offer her anything too complicated; he seemed unaware of her true potential, even though she had already dropped a few hints along the way.

It just took him a bit too long to realize it!

She could only assist Patrick and the company from the shadows.

Meanwhile, her relationship with Renata became closer. She almost spent all her lunches at her restaurant.

They tried to tell Danny about her true identity, but Danny seemed so slow to realize it. Even though they had already given him so many clues, he hadn’t figured it out until today. He is too slow, just like Patrick.

Her closeness with Renata heightened Josh’s curiosity. However, he never once believed she had become more like Aurora Moon.

She is already planning to expose herself to Josh, and it seems this plan will be faster than giving him hints here and there—she will challenge him to a duel.

If Josh saw his martial arts move, he would know. Just thinking about that already thrills her.

After preparing for the office, Aurora excitedly left the master bedroom and headed to the first floor for breakfast with Alex—he was already waiting for her in the dining room.

...

After breakfast, they strolled out to the backyard to enjoy their favorite activities, which had become part of their lovely routine over the past few days.

Usually, they only walk to the lineup of pine trees at the edge of the garden right before the stone house and then return to the main house.

However, today, they took a moment to seriously discuss their weekend plans, and before they knew it, they were past the garden and right in front of the stone house.

This is the second time Aurora has visited this place.

The last time was the night she had the incident; she has not dared return here again.

She never mentioned it to Alex, aware he would never permit her to go there, even if she asked nicely or begged.

’Should I ask him again?’ Aurora wondered while looking at the flowers that had started to dry in the garden.

Her heart tightened when she saw them. She usually cleaned the garden and prepared the bed for the winter.

"Alex, this house is so beautiful and captivating..." Aurora whispered softly, almost as if she were talking to herself.

But Alex, standing right beside her, could hear her.

"Hmm, beautiful? Yes! Captivating? Absolutely," Alex replied, though his eyes were fixed not on the house but on her.

When Aurora glanced up to meet his eyes, she felt a rush of warmth coursing through her veins, captivated by his loving gaze.

"Isn’t it a pity to let this house go empty, Alex?" Aurora casually asked him.

But moments later, she regretted asking that way when she saw his face suddenly grow gloomy.

"Alex, I apologize... I feel concerned when the house is empty, and no one looks after it or visits. Sis Rory might feel upset if she knew her house..."

Aurora couldn’t finish her words as Alex interrupted her.

"Don’t worry about that. Martin and I always visit and clean it for her."

Alex said calmly, but Aurora could see the coldness in his eyes.

Before she could say anything, Alex continued, "Let’s go. We might be getting late to the office," he said, walking back towards the main house without waiting for Aurora to respond.

’Oh my God, what should I do with him? He still can’t move on from my old self?’ Aurora talked to herself, feeling amused.

Aurora hurried to match his step, adjusting her expression. She didn’t want to annoy him again, so she apologized for her earlier words and asked him to forget them.

However, Alex’s response nearly caused her to collapse. "You can visit the house!" he said.

"Aurora, be careful..." Alex shouted with concern. He quickly grabbed her hand and helped her to her feet as she steadied herself beside him. "Are you alright?" he stared into her eyes.

Aurora had lost her voice, still grappling with shock as she tried to gather her thoughts.

All she could do was blink at him in silence.

’Oh, my lord... Did Alex actually permit me to visit the stone house? He actually let me get inside the stone house?’

She wanted to ask him again to ensure she didn’t hear it wrong; however, she was too afraid this man would change his mind and not admit it or deny that he said those words.

After a moment of pause, just as she was about to start walking again, suddenly Alex gently spoke up, "Aurora, do you want me to carry you upstairs?"

Aurora silently gulped and shook her head.

"No need. I can walk. I just tripped over the stone and almost fell," she said, and walked quickly to enter the main house, leaving Alex still frowning as he looked at the stone path.

He noticed nothing that might cause her to trip or nearly fall as she had before.

"Should I ask Martin to replace this cobblestone path with smooth asphalt or concrete?" he nodded, agreeing with the thought. "Yes, yes, I will mention it to him later!"

...

Aurora was thrilled; Alex finally allowed her to visit her past life’s own home, the stone house.

She started to make many plans about when she would visit the house and what she would do there.

However, while they were in the car heading to the Stardust Tower, Alex, who was busy reading something on his iPad, suddenly turned to see her.

It was as if he could read Aurora’s thoughts when he said, "Aurora, if you want to visit the stone house, you need to let me know. That way, we can go there together..."

Aurora’s heart sank.

How would she retrieve her belongings, especially the items from the safety box, without making him suspicious?

She had no choice but to agree with him. "Okay..."
