Chapter 120: There’s No Prenuptial Agreement Holding Us Back!

More and more questions whirled around Aurora’s mind, looking at Alex, who had just left without saying anything.

’Did I hurt his feelings again by bringing up the marriage contract? Why does he look so upset?’

Aurora gazes at the suitcase filled with luxurious items. Her heart feels heavy as she wonders why Alex is angry with her.

’Is he upset because I refused his parents’ wedding gift? Is my attitude annoying and unacceptable to him?’

Aurora shook her head, attempting to get Alex out of her mind.

She looked at her cell phone and thought of sending him a text to apologize.

Just as she was about to start typing, she heard footsteps approaching her bedroom.

When she glanced at the door, Alex walked in with stern steps and a stern look.

’He is still upset!’ She noticed that his expression had not changed since he left the room.

"I’m sorry if I upset you, Alex."

Aurora rose from her seat, yet he signaled for her to stay seated before shutting the door behind him.

She frowned, feeling even more confused by his unusual behavior.

Her eyes fell on the brown envelope he held. Despite her urge to ask, she held back, letting him speak first.

She watched him close the suitcase and place it back on the floor. Then he sat beside her; their closeness made her heart race faster.

His once gloomy expression slowly turned calm. "Aurora, I’m not upset with you," he said.

She doubts it. Why did he suddenly leave without saying anything if he wasn’t angry?

"I’m really disappointed in myself." His honesty left her feeling confused again. His gaze lingered on her as he added, "Aurora, I regret the mistake I made when we first met."

’What on earth are you trying to say?’ Aurora scolded him internally.

After trying to contain her anger, she expressed frustration: "Alex, can you not confuse me? Speak directly to your point, please!"

Alex did not respond to her right away. Instead, he passed her a brown envelope.

"Please check the contents of this envelope," he instructed.

’Envelope?’ Aurora’s heart was racing, experiencing déjà vu. She remembered having gone through this before.

She didn’t waste any more time; she immediately opened the envelope and was confused to see that the contents were their prenuptial agreement, complete with their signatures on the last page.

"Alex, why did you give me this prenup agreement again?" she asked, clearly confused about his intentions this time.

He smiled calmly as he saw her confusion. "This prenup makes you always doubt this marriage, right?"

Aurora furrowed, searching for the right words to say. She glanced at the prenup agreement in her hand, hoping to see if he had added a new clause.

Before she had time to review the new clause in the prenup, the document had already passed into his hands. She noticed Alex holding the prenup agreement.

"Alex, you’re confusing me..." Aurora’s words trailed off as she witnessed his actions. Her eyes widened in disbelief. Without thinking, she shouted, "What the hell are you doing, Alexander Graystone? Why did you rip up the agreement?"

His face showed no emotion, but his eyes and brow exuded calmness as he stated, "Aurora Spencer, there is no prenup in our marriage. As husband and wife, we are legally bound without these confusing agreements! So, from now on, you can’t mention this prenup in our discussions anymore."

Everything in her mind went blank like an invisible black hole had sucked it in after hearing his words.

Aurora tried to speak, but all her words vanished from her mind—she felt overwhelmed about how to begin. Though she didn’t talk, her eyes scolded him, "What do you want, Alex?"

"Do you understand what I’m saying, Aurora?" Alex asked when he noticed her staring at him in silence. Confusion was clearly showing in her eyes.

"I don’t get it! Can you explain in simpler terms, Alex? Why did you tear up the agreement? What do you want?"

Alex blessed his eyes with her perplexed confusion before stretching his hands to hold hers and gently squeezing them.

He noticed her shock, but before she could say anything, he interrupted, "Aurora Spencer, I apologize for the confusion. However, I must inform you that our signed agreement is now void!"

"Why?" Aurora still didn’t understand why he had done that. She needed him to explain further.

Alex lowered his gaze, glancing at their hands momentarily before lifting his eyes back to meet hers. With sincerity in his voice, he said, "Because I want to give this marriage a chance."

"Damn it! I didn’t understand." She scolds him, unable to hold back. "Are you saying you genuinely wanted this marriage to be real?"

"Yes. I want us to be a REAL couple. I didn’t want to pretend." freёnovelkiss.com

Alex’s words sent a chill through Aurora, almost like he had cast a spell on her. It was surprising how this man could change his mind so suddenly.

At this moment, not even her beautiful features could conceal the shock on her face. She didn’t expect him to say those words.

Aurora fixed her gaze on him, searching for any sign that he was not Alexander Graystone, as she knew. Instead, someone else possessed his soul.

’What was his real reason for this marriage? Did he finally realize I’m Rory?’ She feels a chill hearing her thoughts.

With all those questions swirling in her mind, she found it hard to utter her thoughts. Instead, she sat in silence, gazing at him.

After a few seconds of uncomfortable silence, she found her voice and asked, "What just happened? Why did you suddenly change your mind?"

She felt Alex gently squeeze her hand. Blood rushed beneath her skin, flowing directly to her heart.

"I’m weary of divorce, Aurora. Six times. I fear God has had enough of my willful arrogance and is about to punish me, which is why I pray this will be my last marriage..." he said gently.

Aurora found herself at a loss for words. ’Did he expect me to believe that?’

"Alex, you must be joking, right?"

"Absolutely not. Do I seem like I’m joking?"

She doubted him. However, seeing his calm and honest expression, she began to feel her heart beat like war drums.
