Re-Overlord: I Can Acquire Anything!-Chapter 93: Last Mission
Chapter 93: Last Mission
The next day, Igaris set off for the capital in Roxanne’s lightning mech, Dorothy.
It was a gleaming white machine with a polished interior, spacious enough to comfortably hold a family of three.
Dorothy soared through the skies, piercing clouds and shattering the sound barrier with thunderous sonic booms.
Inside, Isadora laughed and cheered, her eyes wide with wonder as she clung to her brother’s side, enjoying the breathtaking view.
Massive trees passed beneath them, then mountains, then winding rivers.
After two full days of nonstop travel, they finally reached the outskirts of the Capital City: Oracle.
But they didn’t enter the city directly.
Instead, they landed near a rugged mountainous terrain overlooking the city from a distance, watching in silence as the vast metropolis stretched before them.
The sun was setting, casting golden light over the skyline, and the chirping of birds echoed through the valleys—returning home for the night.
Igaris narrowed his gaze. His eyes adjusted, zooming in with the enhanced vision of the Architect’s Eyes.
Oracle City stood tall and imposing, wrapped in not one but two massive circular iron walls.
The Outer District—a place for the poor and forgotten.
The Inner District—home to the rich, elite, and Federation officials.
"The Architect dreamed of a paradise where everyone had an equal chance to live," Igaris muttered as he stared at the towering statue of the Architect standing in the Inner District. "But it seems he forgot that discrimination and social class can never be erased so easily..."
Roxanne’s eyes shifted toward Igaris. Only now did she notice his special eyes—eyes that, for some strange reason, felt familiar.
Her gaze drifted back to the statue.
Then her breath caught in her throat.
The statue’s eyes—they were the same.
"The Divine Architect..." she whispered.
The resemblance struck her like a chord deep within her soul.
"Igaris," she said softly, eyes wide in awe, "Don’t tell me... you were the Architect in your previous life."
"No," Igaris said coolly, turning away from the statue. "I’m not the Architect. I’ve only acquired his eyes."
"Just acquired?" she stared at him with speechlessness.
How could someone acquire something so powerful so easily? They are literally the eyes of a God.
"Wait..." Roxanne’s eyes widened as the realization sank deeper. "If you truly have the eyes of the Architect, why don’t you announce it to the public?"
She stepped closer, her tone serious now, almost urgent.
"In that case, they’d revere you as their new god. People would start worshipping you. Even the high officials would have no choice but to bow before you then."
But Igaris shook his head, his expression calm and resolute.
"No," he said firmly. "That would only make me a target. It would draw too much attention... and it would only hinder my purpose here."
He looked toward the city again.
"I’m not here to be a god. I’m here to fulfill my duty as your son." His voice quieter now, but no less certain.
After speaking those words, Igaris turned and headed toward the metropolis of advanced machinery and hidden dangers—alone.
But not quite.
For he was never truly alone.
With him were countless subordinates who had pledged their loyalty in silence, and more importantly, the arsenal of powers he had acquired through his journey:
---
[ Name: Igaris Vance ]
[ Age: 19 ]
[ Power Rank: Master – 5 ]
[ Abilities: Undead Recovery, Basic Blademastery, Six Directional Sense, Gale Wings, Iron Fangs, Rock Boulder Throw, Spin-Shell Burst, Lightning Shell, Infernal Tornado, The Architect’s Eyes, Godslayer Sword Style, Kinetic Redirection, Earth Manipulation, Umbral Veil, Phantom Shift ]
[ Innate Ability: Infinite Acquisition ]
---
Using his newly acquired ability, [ Umbral Veil ], Igaris melded into the shadows traveling beneath the silhouettes of trees, rocks, even animals.
He slipped through the natural world as a phantom.
He moved unseen, unheard. Not a single alarm was triggered. No advanced radar or energy sequence tracker detected him.
A sigh of relief left his lips as he finally stood before the Outer Wall—a colossal, 50-meter-high barrier of cold, reinforced metal.
He reached out and touched it.
It was freezing to the touch, unmoving and absolute like an indestructible structure, built to withstand even the fury of dragons or the wrath of leviathans, should they ever come.
Then, without hesitation:
[ Phantom Shift: Activated ]
His body began to phase through the wall. Every cell of his body dissolved and reassembled at a quantum level as he slipped past the physical barrier as if he were a ghost in the machine.
He entered the Outer District without issue, but he had to reach the Inner District by the night.
Tomorrow and the day after—that was all the time he had left to complete this mission.
Fortunately, he had made other preparations for his eventual departure from the planet. He had secured 20,000 Spirit Stones from the Black Dagger Gang, transferred all valuable materials into his Inner World, and brought all his subordinates into it as well.
But one thing gnawed at the back of his mind.
Evernight.
He hadn’t heard from her since their last contact. And if she didn’t enter his Inner World in time... he might lose her forever.
The thought stung.
Shaking his head, Igaris pushed the distraction away and continued forward. Activating Darkness Domain in a small radius, he melted into the shadows, nearly indistinguishable from the night around him.
The sky above was thick with clouds, cloaking the moon and stars. The darkness was almost absolute. Here, the neon signs and streetlights of the towering buildings couldn’t reach, leaving deep pockets of unlit alleys and roads as his perfect cover.
By midnight, he finally stood before the estate of House Calamity. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
A grand mansion towered in the distance, glowing with artificial lights from its gardens and inner halls. Spotlights swept across the grounds, illuminating trimmed hedges and gleaming statues.
Just as Roxanne had warned, rows of heavily armed guards stood at attention. Each one wore reinforced exosuits or piloted mechs, their presence radiating strength and deadliness.
This was no ordinary estate. It was a fortress both beautiful and brutal.
And Igaris was now at its gates.
