Kent didn't know he would be pulled into the Dead Region, which is one of the many dangerous places in the Ancient Battlefield of Parting.

Nobody knew what was inside that space, simply because all who entered never returned. So he never expected there to be a teleporter that could send someone there.

However, since there was, he most certainly wasn't going to allow the user to get the satisfaction they wanted. He was more shameless than that.

Hearing the smugness in the voice of the 16th Oracle pissed him off so he knew he had to mess with her head and wipe the smugness from her face under the mask.

So, knowing nobody truly knew his background, when he was getting pulled in, he made sure the person who wanted to send him to his death was made aware he was from the Dead Region.

There was no way the lady from the Oracles could know whether he was lying or not.

Nobody knew anything about the Dead Region, so for someone with abnormally strong willpower and strength like Kent's to say he was from there, there was some substance in it.

One could say he was speaking the truth, considering the type of people he had on his side. They clearly weren't human, so there was that—and the fact that Kent appeared out of nowhere and started causing trouble everywhere.

His messing with the Oracle was just his way of getting them riled up for when he returns. He could have escaped, but he didn't—simply because he wanted to go to the Dead Region.

This was because, while he initially planned just to escape into the tower, a quest appeared that made him change his mind.

He couldn't ignore the quest despite knowing that where he was going wasn't friendly at all.

Naturally, this quest wasn't one he could breeze through, considering it came with a rather serious condition:

He could not summon his undead or the new additions to his team. This time, he had to get everything done by himself.

So he allowed himself to be pulled into the teleporter that sent him and the hunter to two different places inside the Dead Region.

Kent appeared atop a tall mountain, immediately feeling the change around him.

The first thing he noticed was the change in the air. It was much more chaotic and stronger than the one outside. Though it was not as pure as the outside, it wasn't impure either.

"This feeling." Surprisingly, Kent was resonating with the new air he was breathing, which shouldn't have been possible, considering this air should limit anyone who stepped in.

However, he wasn't being limited; instead, the moment he appeared there, it seemed right for him. Then again, he did tell the lady she was going back to him, which, in this situation, he felt right at home.

He couldn't contact his undead, the ladies, or his assistants, but he could contact the tower, which immediately gave him the answer to his sudden rise in strength.

"Tower, what am I dealing with here?" He knew he was in the Dead Region, so he had to get his questions sorted out faster before things escalated.

⟪Though faint, there are traces of chaos energy in the air, and since your bloodline is basically made of chaos energy, the air inside the region is resonating with your bloodline.⟫

"In this case, cultivating here means my bloodline will be strengthened, right?" Kent asked. free𝑤ebnovel.com

⟪Yes. However, before you can use it to strengthen your bloodline or even harness it while here, you must first understand chaos energy and how it behaves. This means you must cultivate it⟫

"How do I do that?"

⟪Just tap into your bloodline, and it will come to you naturally. You have the chaos energy in your bloodline, but because it hasn't made any significant increase in awakening, you don't yet have that understanding.

However, with these strands of chaos energy in the air, you can easily start to comprehend it, and with some effort, you will begin to gain understanding.⟫

Kent didn't immediately respond. Instead, he looked around, gazing at the red sky and the thick air filled with chaotic energy.

"This is your doing, isn't it?" Kent asked the tower after looking around him for a few moments.

There was no danger within a 16-mile radius. He sensed that, instead of appearing deep within the Dead Region, he had appeared at the outskirts.

There was no danger there, and considering the hunter wasn't with him, it wouldn't take a genius to know what had happened.

⟪Though the master is unaware of this, beings inside this region have some understanding of chaos energy. Though weak, they can use it.

This means you are out of your league here, and since you are alone, I figured you must at least gain some understanding before embarking on the quest.

My job is to ensure the master benefits from every small resource, so I made this decision after putting all variables into consideration.⟫

"Great decision, Tower. I truly cannot face this quest with my current strength," Kent sighed and then sat down in a lotus posture.

"In that case, I will start early since I only have three weeks to complete the quest." He tapped into his bloodline and started circulating his blood.

He could sense the air around him getting pulled into his body the moment he began.

⟪You have started comprehending Chaos Qi⟫

This message appeared, making Kent smile as he sat there, comprehending more of the Chaos Qi.

Meanwhile, deep in the Dead Region, in a valley, a river made of blood flowed freely. A figure was kneeling down, blood seeping from the corner of her mouth, with a gaping hole through her chest.

This person was the hunter, who was unfortunate enough to find herself trapped inside the inner section of the Dead Region.

Standing before her was a figure clad in purple armor with a dark mask covering his face. He had the same height as a human.

The air around him revealed he was a Peak Sovereign; however, his strength was enough to overpower the hunter and her fourteen abominations.

This was because he had some understanding of the CHAOS QI and could use it.

A spear was in his grip, pointing toward the hunter, who kept coughing up blood.

"Where is your other companion? I sensed two people enter this region," the figure said, making the hunter shudder as she waited for her death.

"Like I said before, I don't know, and he is not my companion. He is actually my enemy," she answered, but the figure didn't believe her, so he stabbed his spear forward.

"Stop," a new voice spoke, halting the masked man.

He turned to his right and bowed down. "Tribe Master, I sensed two people entered our region, but only found one. I tried to find out about the other from her, but she wouldn't give me an answer."

The man with the spear spoke, showing great respect to the new arrival. The newcomer was a man wearing a dark cloak but with no hood or mask.

This revealed his crime skin and three eyes.

"I will take it from here. You can leave."

The spearman nodded and left without much protest.
