Chapter 478 -394: Is the Biological Mother Indifferent as a Chrysanthemum? The Young Lady Sabotages Effortlessly 34

After arranging a room for Su Zhiruan, Xie Yanshang stepped out the door.

In the following two days, Su Zhiruan stayed at the Xie family home.

Madam Xie took great care of her.

It was clear that she truly and sincerely loved Su Zhiruan. Just in the few days Su Zhiruan was at the Xie’s, she took her shopping for clothes and all kinds of daily necessities. Everything was readily available. Even when Su Zhiruan said she had money, Madam Xie refused to let her pay for anything.

During these days, Su Zhiruan also saw just how busy Xie Yanshang was with work.

The hospital and the company were each busier than the other, and with him holding important positions in both, even though Madam Xie was at the Xie home all day, it was hard to see him.

Madam Xie shook her head and said to Su Zhiruan,

“This child, I don’t know who he takes after, working so hard. He’ll never forget his responsibilities and still doesn’t want to give up on his dreams, starting a hospital,” Madam Xie sighed deeply, “Sometimes I wonder if it’s because we’ve placed too heavy a burden on him. If he was a child from an ordinary family, perhaps he wouldn’t be Xie Yanshang, and then he could let go of his burdens and freely do what he likes instead of spending his days in the company, dressed in a suit to face off against those old slickers, and also having to go to the hospital to save lives and help the injured!”

Su Zhiruan didn’t speak, merely patted Madam Xie’s hand as a gesture of comfort.

However, Su Zhiruan and Xie Yanshang’s relationship did improve quite a bit after she moved into the Xie family home, and Xie Yanshang would talk to her for a bit whenever he saw her.

Three days of uneventful yet happy time passed by quickly.

On the third day, Su Zhiruan prepared to go out to look at houses.

She hadn’t walked far when she was suddenly stopped by someone.

“Miss Su, my boss has something to discuss with you. Please come with me!”

The person was dressed in a black suit, with sunglasses perched on his nose, resembling a bodyguard. He extended his left hand to stop Su Zhiruan, who was about to proceed.

Behind him stood two other bodyguards in black suits, eyeing her menacingly.

When Su Zhiruan saw them, her mind raced, pondering if she had offended anyone lately.

She suspected they were people from Su Qin.

“What does your boss want with me?” she asked nonchalantly, looking around, hoping to leave the area.

Since she couldn’t be sure if the person in front of her was a friend or foe, she had to remain vigilant.

“Don’t worry, our boss just wants to talk to you about some things, he’s not a bad person!” the bodyguard tried to offer a friendly expression as he looked at Su Zhiruan.

When sent by Madam Xie’s second uncle, the bodyguards were somewhat taken aback, as it seemed odd for them to ask a young lady to follow them. Naturally, she wouldn’t be willing, given that they didn’t look like good people at first glance. They wondered what their boss was thinking and what they would do if they ended up being arrested.

With that thought, the three bodyguards showed even friendlier expressions.

One of them added, “Miss Su, please don’t worry, we’re all good people. The boss just wants to ask you a couple of questions, that’s all. Afterwards, we’ll bring you back safe and sound!”

“Miss Su, I’d advise you to come with us willingly; otherwise, we’re not sure what we might do, and then we’d have to take you by force!” The last bodyguard spoke up after his two companions had spoken, his face stern as he said this.

Immediately upon his words, he received angry glares from his two older brothers.

Seeing the exchange of expressions among the three men, Su Zhiruan made a decision, “I’ll go with you.”

The bodyguards were first astonished.

Then their faces lit up with joy as they quickly opened the car door, respectfully ushering Su Zhiruan inside.

“Please, Miss Su.”

Su Zhiruan was holding her cellphone the whole time, with the screen lit and stayed on the emergency call screen. Seeing this, the three bodyguards did not show any signs of displeasure, as anyone in their ordinary situation would feel apprehensive about such circumstances.

Su Zhiruan’s phone vibrated, and a new WeChat message popped up at the top of the lit screen.

[Did you go out today? Where’d you go?]

The message was from Xie Yanshang. Over the two days Su Zhiruan stayed at the Xie home, Xie Yanshang’s WeChat conversations with her had increased, mostly about trifling matters, but it was these trivial matters that helped to bring them closer together.
