One Piece: Supreme Check-In System-Chapter 70: The Storm Approaches: God Knights on the Horizon
Chapter 70 - The Storm Approaches: God Knights on the Horizon
The sun hung high in the skies of the Voidreign Kingdom, its light casting long, sharp shadows across the land still trembling from the clash between Kuina and Dracule Mihawk.
The arena floor was fractured, torn asunder by the ferocity of their duel. Dust and remnants of shattered stone floated in the air like snowflakes.
Jessie stood at the edge of the battlefield, arms crossed, a satisfied grin curving his lips.
The battle was not yet over.
Kuina, bloodied and breathing hard, stood firm — her spirit burning brighter than ever. Her clothes were tattered, a gash across her shoulder staining the fabric with crimson, but her grip on her sword remained unshaken.
Before her, Mihawk watched with rare admiration. A small tear on his cloak and a thin scratch on his cheek were the only signs of the ferocious struggle — but the gleam in his eyes acknowledged the worthiness of his opponent.
"Impressive," Mihawk murmured, tightening his grip on Yoru. "You've surpassed yourself, girl."
Kuina wiped blood from her lip and smiled. "I'm not done yet."
With a fierce cry, her sword aura erupted once more, dazzling blue tendrils of sword qi swirling around her like a raging storm. She pushed beyond her limits, blood vessels straining, muscles trembling — determined to land one final strike before her body gave out.
Jessie's smile deepened. "That's my crew."
Kuina unleashed her Supreme Technique.
"Azure Severance: Heaven Fang Eclipse!"
A blade of light arced skyward, parting clouds and cleaving through the heavens. The surrounding earth quaked, and onlookers gasped at the sheer scale of the attack. Mihawk, smiling faintly, deflected the incoming force with a measured swing, his Yoru cleaving through the technique like silk.
Kuina staggered, blood trickling from her nose and mouth, before her eyes fluttered shut. Her body collapsed, unconscious but smiling.
Mihawk sheathed his sword and turned toward Jessie. "She'll surpass me someday," he said, genuine respect in his voice.
Jessie chuckled, walking forward to catch Kuina's falling form.
"She's already halfway there."
The battle had ended — but elsewhere, a different storm was coming.
The ship sailed away from the Voidreign Kingdom, leaving the battlefield behind.
At the helm stood Meruem, his crimson eyes fixed ahead, his aura calm but unmistakably lethal.
Behind him followed three figures — Uta, her white and red hair swaying in the sea breeze, eyes curious; Vash, lazily leaning on the mast with his signature grin; and Blackeye, the panda, munching calmly on a thick bamboo stalk.
Uta broke the silence.
"What's going on, Meruem? Why drag us all the way out here?"
Vash chimed in as well.
"Yeah, you finally leaving Voidreign Kingdom just 'cause you're bored? Or did someone eat your food without permission again?"
He let out a hearty laugh, completely unconcerned.
Blackeye continued chewing his bamboo, eyes half-lidded but clearly listening.
Meruem, his cold eyes narrowing, said, "The captain sent me a message. Rats are coming they are top tier God Knights the Emperor-level immortals. They're here to stir up trouble."
The air turned serious at once.
Uta straightened.
"God Knights?
Vash let out a groan. "Ughh... can't these guys take a nap or something? They're like cockroaches. One's gone, five more show up."
Blackeye finally stopped chewing, his sharp panda eyes locking on the distant horizon. He raised a paw, bamboo clutched tightly, and let out a low growl.
"Raw raw raw."
Vash blinked. "I still don't know what you're saying, Panda. But you look excited."
He laughed, clapping Blackeye on the back, the panda raising his bamboo like a victory flag.
Uta glanced sideways at Meruem. "Do we know who's coming?"
Meruem's said and his voice dropped low, a cold, quiet intensity in his tone.
"You'll be surprised. According to Jessie's intel, four God Knights are en route. One of them's named Gunko — she manipulates direction itself. She's a freak in a mask made of toilet paper, goggles on her head... and yeah, she's a girl."
Uta arched an eyebrow. "A toilet paper mask?"
Meruem shrugged. "Don't ask. I'm just repeating what Jessie said."
"And the others?"
"Shepherd Sommers — an old guy with a long hear with glasses. Don't underestimate him, his aura can suppress giants."
"Rimoshifu Killingham — face like a dragon, don't know if he's half-dragon, devil fruit, or a lizard."
The wind picked up as the ship cut through the waves, tension thickening with every word.
Meruem's voice grew darker. "And lastly... their commander. Figarland Shamrock."
When she heard the name, Uta looked confused and said. : "Shamrock...?"

Meruem caught the reaction, a knowing glint in his eye.
Vash scratched his head. "Huh? That name kinda sounds fancy."
Meruem continued. "Figarland Shamrock. The twin brother of Shanks."
The air fell deathly still.
Even Vash, usually the one to crack jokes and lighten the mood, went silent.
Blackeye gripped his bamboo like a weapon, his previously playful eyes narrowing into battle-ready slits.
"Raw raw raw."
Vash forced a nervous laugh. "Well... guess this trip won't be boring after all."
Meruem grinned, his aura darkening, murderous intent radiating from him like a suffocating fog. "No... it won't. They might be immortal, but even immortals can suffer eternal torment."
The ship sailed onward, toward inevitable bloodshed.
The sea churned.
The skies darkened.
And the storm drew closer.
