Mated to Four Alphas-Chapter 23: Why did you propose him?
Chapter 23: Why did you propose him?
Silas’s POV
I was staring at that blondie, and his manager was glaring at me like a dog. Not that I cared. I stared right back at him.
"What are you staring at, you bitch?"
Huh? Is that manager completely out of his mind? I haven’t even said a word, so why is he cursing at me now?
I was about to open my mouth when the door suddenly swung open, and Damon walked into the office. The moment he stepped in, the entire room fell silent. Everyone’s attention shifted to him.
He walked over and sat on the sofa, crossing his legs and leaning back. Adjusting his glasses with his middle finger, he gave us a cold, unreadable look. I knew he had to be mad at me—his gaze was ice-cold.
And why wouldn’t he be? I had messed up the face of one of his company’s artists. Of course, he had every right to be angry. But it wasn’t my fault. It was that blondie’s fault for provoking me for no reason.
Lowering my gaze, I prepared myself for the inevitable.
"So, what happened, Addy?" Damon’s cold voice reached my ears.
He asked the blondie first. That clearly showed that Addy was getting special treatment here.
Before Addy could speak, his manager stepped forward and stood in front of the glass table.
"Mr. Damon, let me tell you everything that happened." He turned to look at me and pointed a finger in my direction.
"That omega over there, pretending to be all innocent and naive, is the one who attacked Addy for no reason. He thinks that just because he’s joined Gold Era Entertainment, he can do whatever he wants. He’s completely arrogant!"
Damon folded his arms across his chest, listening patiently.
"It was an attempted murder, Mr. Damon! We should hand that omega over to the police immediately and warn his pack as well. If he’s like this, who knows? Maybe everyone in his pack is the same."
Wait, what? Why is he dragging my pack into this? And attempted murder? If I had really wanted to kill that blondie, he wouldn’t just be standing here with a few injuries!
I was about to defend myself when Nekol grabbed my hand and subtly signaled for me to stay quiet.
Wow. So now even he wants me to just shut up and listen to this nonsense? What the hell?
"Were you there when all of this happened? Did you witness it with your own eyes?"
Damon’s voice cut through the room, sharp and direct. His eyes locked onto the manager, making him visibly nervous. He seemed shocked by the sudden question.
"I... I wasn’t there, but I showed you the video, didn’t I?" the manager stammered. "It clearly shows that the omega beat up Addy and his friends badly. He even used a fork to attack someone today! Who knows? Tomorrow, he might stab someone!"
"We need to make things right, Mr. Damon. If we let this go, more incidents like this will happen. We should teach this damn omega a lesson!"
The manager turned back to me, practically mocking me with his words. But I didn’t care.
Damon, however, remained unfazed. "I only asked you one thing—were you there or not?" His tone was calm, but it was cold as ice.
"N-No, I wasn’t," the manager admitted, his voice shaking.
I suddenly felt Damon’s gaze shift toward me. He was looking directly at me. Not wanting to meet his eyes, I instinctively moved closer to Nekol.
"Silas, come here."
No way. Why is Damon calling me? Couldn’t they just continue their discussion and act like I wasn’t here? But since he had called me, I had no choice but to step forward and stand beside the manager.
Our eyes met.
"So, Silas, tell us what really happened," Damon said.
Before I could respond, Addy suddenly stepped forward, his voice weak but desperate.
"N-No... He... He deserves punishment!"
The blondie was struggling to even speak properly, yet he still wanted to get his side of the story in.
I scoffed and turned to him. "Blondie, no one asked for your damn opinion, so don’t butt in, okay?"
Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed the slightest hint of a smile on Damon’s lips as he looked at me. Meanwhile, the manager was glaring daggers at me.
"Hey! You also have blonde hair! How dare you call Addy ’blondie’?" the manager snapped.
I casually placed my hands behind my back and shifted my gaze toward him. "What’s your problem?"
"Silas."
Hearing Damon’s voice, I took a deep breath to calm myself and turned back to him. I recounted everything that had happened in the cafeteria, giving him all the details.
As he listened, his sharp gaze scanned everyone standing in the room, observing their reactions.
"So that’s the truth," I concluded. "If I hadn’t fought back, I would’ve been the one lying half-dead in a hospital bed right now. Or worse—dead."
Because with the kind of strength they came at me with, they weren’t just trying to beat up an omega. They were ready to kill.
"Addy... Why the hell did you propose to Silas? It’s not like you’ve known him for a long time or anything." His eyes met mine as he spoke. freēnovelkiss.com
Damon’s gaze remained cold as he asked, "So, what’s your purpose in doing something this ridiculous?"
I glanced toward Blondie. He was hesitating to say anything, his eyes darting around like an idiot.
"I... I liked his cute face, that’s why I proposed to him. But he rejected me in a very bad way."
In a very bad way? What does he even mean by that? I rejected him politely!
This blondie is really getting on my nerves now.
Just then, Damon suddenly stood up and walked toward Addy, stopping right in front of him. He stared down at him, his presence overpowering.
It was quite a nice sight—seeing blondie’s lower his head, completely unable to do anything in front of Damon.
"You dare to kick Silas, and now you’re telling me to punish him? Is that right?"
Damon’s words made them visibly nervous.
"No, Mr. Damon! How can you say that? And how can you trust this omega’s words? He’s just a newbie here, while you’ve known us for much longer!"
The manager spoke urgently, standing right beside me.
