Lady Meilin is seduced by her green tea brother-in-law everyday-Chapter 99: Tang Yue’s goal was one.
Chapter 99: Tang Yue’s goal was one.
She was not coming. When it clocked midnight, Mo Liang realized that the plan had not worked and Jun Meilin was not planning to rush to the hospital, panicked, worried about him.
"That bitch!" he cursed through gritted teeth.
Anger bubbled from the depths of his core to the surface. He thought to himself that he had saved her life, what right did she have to remain home, sleeping while he was stuck in a hospital bed! She should have been in the hospital, serving him and tending to all his needs.
The door was opened, Tang Yue walked in. She was using a face mask to cover up, to hide her identity from curious nurses, doctors and other patients. She removed it as she approached the bed.
Mo Liang was in a bad mood, seeing her did not improve it.
"A Yang..." She called out in a worried voice, "How are you feeling? I wanted to come and see you earlier in the day but the hospital was surrounded by reporters and some of your fans."
She touched his forehead, checked his vital signs, acting as a professional doctor for half a minute before sighing in relief. "You suffered a mild brain injury but you will recover."
Mo Liang had already had heard this from three other doctors. He was more focused on the fact that she had willfully ignored his commands again. "I told you not to come here Yue. You know that things are critical for me right now and I must not stir any new waves."
Tang Yue’s shoulders fell and a sad look came over her face. "But I was worried. A Yang you were struck by lightning, it is something that can be fatal. What would Hao and I do without you?" She covered her eyes and started to sob. "I am sorry, I know that I should not have come, I really didn’t intend to make things difficult for you. I just love you so much..."
He sighed, he was exhausted. "Stop crying. As long as nobody saw you coming over. My lawyer will not be too pleased if we give the opposition more ammunition to use against me. You should go back now, we must avoid giving that loud mouthed Mrs. Xu another reason to smear us publicly."
Tang Yue moved from the chair and she climbed onto the bed. The more Mo Liang told her to leave, the more she desired to stay. She had seen that live broadcast, the interview and all those comments from people that thought he should re-unite with Jun Meilin. If they reunited, what would happen to her and Mo Hao?
"What are you doing?" he asked, irritation plain in his tone.
She put a hand on his chest, making light pats to make him ease up. "I am going to stay and keep you company. Don’t worry, I brought you bodyguards, two of them. They are standing outside the door so nobody will come in and disturb us. From now on, they will follow you around since Jun Meilin told the emperor to take back the royal agents protecting you."
Mo Liang’s nostrils flared, displeased when he heard what she said.
"Do you think she is having an affair with him?" she asked.
Mo Liang snorted, "No way, impossible."
Tang Yue smiled slyly. "A Yang, think about it. Why else would the royal family drop you completely and even take away the royal agents. You are a national asset, even if the royal agents were taken away, they should have been replaced with soldiers.
All the other experts that went on the mission with us have protection. They even sent police officers to keep an eye on me and Hao. Why is it that you are the only one that is no longer protected? That bitch must be doing some pillow talk."
Mo Liang clenched his hands, anger brewing anew in him.
"If you had not come along, those two would be married by now. Mingzhu would be the emperor’s daughter." She continued to add fuel to the fire.
Tang Yue’s goal was simple, to hold on firmly to Mo Liang in any way possible. She had loved him all her life, adored him, cherished him. The day he proposed to Jun Meilin, she had cried, got drunk and ended up sleeping with Caleb Xu. She only married him because the unplanned sex resulted in an unplanned pregnancy which her parents became aware of and demanded he marry her.
If they had not found out, she was going to terminate the pregnancy and pretend she never slept Caleb Xu for the rest of the life.
Later, she had secretly aborted and pretended to have a miscarriage. Her womb was only meant to carry Mo Liang’s children, no other man.
She had been thinking about things seriously lately. If they stayed in this empire, they would have to live with a stain of shame. As soon as Mo Liang successfully got a divorce, she would convince him to move to another empire and they would start over. He was a space pilot and she was a doctor, people like them were in high demand everywhere.
....
At around three in the morning, Mei Mei opened her eyes. Sleep had been elusive, a long forgotten nightmare had risen to the surface, the fire! It had been so long since she last dreamed of it. She did not know why it was bothering her now.
"Probably because the videos of the fire have been playing on different medias and channels for a week now." C4 suggested.
She rubbed her eyes, thinking that he was right. Realizing that it would be impossible to go back to sleep, she decided to take a warm bath because the nightmare had drenched her in sweat.
After the quick bath, she decided to go ahead and prepare Mingzhu’s lunch box. It was an optional choice for parents at the school and Mingzhu had decided that she liked her options open.
"Watch out..." C4 warned as she opened the bedroom door.
She took a step back, eyes darting around for someone that she had been about to bump into. Someone that was having a night as sleepless as hers. But, there was nobody in sight.
"On the floor." C4 told her.
Her eyes were lowered and she saw an origami crane that someone had left for her outside her door. Curious, she squatted down and picked it up. It had been folded carefully and pressed with precision.
"What is this?" She looked at the wings and realized that there was some writing on them, words that unfurled like poetry. "Life may fold you in unexpected ways, but remember-you are a masterpiece still in the works. If all else fails, I will fold myself into a paper airplane and fly you away. And yes, we will take Mingzhu and my mom...because she will kill us if we disappear with her only grandchild."
Mei Mei started to laugh but in the midst of laughing, she found herself crying. It was just a piece of paper and yet not just a piece of paper-it was a symbol of hope, love and unwavering belief in her. It was a reminder that she was cherished, always.
She walked back in the bedroom, clenched her hand around the origami and sobbed uncontrollably.
