Chapter 152: Mei Mei vs Mingzhe...

There was a lot of tip toeing going around in the house after Mingzhu was put to bed. Mei Mei was too depressed to eat so she went straight to bed. Mingzhe was unwilling to watch her spiral into a sad depression so he followed her.

Fully clothed and in his work boots, he laid on top of her bed, facing the ceiling with his hands crossed behind his head.

Mei Mei raised her head from the pillow and she saw the boots. Immediately, she grabbed a pillow and hit Mingzhe’s stomach. "Get your filthy boots off my bed."

"I bought you this bed." he muttered.

Mei Mei hissed and hit him with the pillow again but it did not work. Instead, he provoked her by making his feet dance and tapping the boots together. The more she hissed and complained, the happier he was.

"If you want to to get my feet off your bed, make me." He dared her.

She groaned and sat up. He would not go away until he made her work through her emotions. It seemed he had chosen physical sparring.

She got out of bed, marched furiously to the closet and returned with two sparring sticks that had been collecting dust, untouched for many years. She looked at her pajamas and realized they were not sparring outfits so she changed into sweat pants and a vest.

"Let’s go." she yelled unhappily.

With a victorious smirk, Mingzhe followed her to the downstairs gym which had also been collecting dust until it was cleaned up by the maids after she moved in. The only person in the house that used it was madam Feng. Mei Mei preferred to run, so she did not see the need to step foot in there. When she wanted to stretch, she did it in her bedroom or the living room.

"Let’s make this quick." Mei Mei thrust one of the sticks at Mingzhe.

He leaped up and caught it mid-air with ease. When his feet touched the ground, he looked mighty proud of himself. "I hope that you are ready for an ass kicking."

The two siblings dashed toward each other and the sticks in their hands collided sharply, breaking into a song of wood cracking.

Mei Mei and Jingzhe circled each other, one bare feet and one in boots, both gazing into each other’s eyes intensely with a challenge. They reared back and collided again. Mingzhe had the upper hand in strength but Mei Mei was quicker. Speed had always been her strongest suit.

"You are slower than you used to be cry baby." He teased, that annoying I am the better sibling smirk was tugging on his lips as always.

She twirled her stick with ease and brought the base down, hitting his feet. "Don’t call me cry baby." She growled loudly.

Mingzhe winced playfully, smirking still to show her that her attack had been aggressive but it caused him no pain. She roared and attacked him with all of her might, their training sticks whistled through the air and they struck and parried tirelessly.

Mingzhe twirled his stick and he hit her on the buttocks. "When did you last touch a training stick cry baby?" he tainted.

"Fu...." She hurled out but Mingzhe stopped her.

"Shhhh! Always quick with the bad words cry baby." He stepped back, but they continued to circle each other like predators fighting for territory. "Let me guess, you were going to say something that rhymes with F and You."

Mei Mei drew back a little and the she shifted her weight and spun, feinting left before striking right. Mingzhe narrowly ducked, his heart picked up speed and he laughed. Trickery was always his sister’s biggest strength when they were sparring. It was a good thing he had kept this in the back of his mind.

Mei Mei did not give him a moment to catch his breath, she relentlessly attacked, forcing him backwards with swiftness and precision. "You have forgotten that I always had the fastest hands between us brother. I took you down eight times out of ten. How many times must I tell you Mingzhe, bigger does not mean stronger."

Mingzhe dodged all of her strikes calculatingly and when she was about to achieve victory, she overreached. He countered, his stick shot forward and hooked hers, twisting it from her grasp.

As the stick flew through the air, Mei Mei shot her leg out to kick him. He caught her foot and lifted her through the air.

"You have always been a sore loser cry baby I knew that you would do something like this." He laughed at her as he forced her to kneel and twisted one of her hands behind her back.

Breathing heavily, Mei Mei shrugged until he let her go. Then she fell back on the floor and drew in more breaths, slowly, waiting for the adrenaline rush to reduce.

"We can both agree that I won this round." A victorious Mingzhe said this as he sat down next to her.

"Fine," She bit out, grumbling "You win but this is not the end. I am simply out of practice because I have not sparred in a very long time. Don’t grow a big head thinking that you are better."

Mingzhe chuckled. "Sore loser cry baby. Why can’t you just give me my flowers and leave it at that?"

"I would not be Jun Meilin if I admitted to failure." She answered candidly.

Mingzhe laid down next to her and he laughed all of a sudden.

"What?"

"I still have my boots on." He boasted.

He knew how much she disliked people trudging muddy or dirty shoes into her space. At home, it was into her bedroom and here, it was into her house. She liked calling him a clean freak when they were growing up but she had the same habit as him, just different troubles.

They had both inherited it from their father. He had a touch of germaphobia.

"You provoked me deliberately, didn’t you?" She asked.

Mingzhe nodded. "I told you Mei Mei, any man that comes into your life is not simply coming into your life. He is coming into Mingzhu’s life as well. If your little boyfriend is not up to the task, end it now."

She kicked him on the thigh. "Mingzhe, people are not toys. You cannot put them in your pockets and make them follow you everywhere. Jingzhe is human, he has a life just as I have my own life. He sent me a message and said he would be returning late and he told me to tell Mingzhu this. I relayed this message to Mingzhu but my baby is an insecure child thanks to her scumbag biological father and grandmother and the other Mo’s.

I cannot escape blame as well, I was too busy trying to glue together a broken family that I did not notice how much it was harming my daughter."

"And you...don’t forget that you were harming yourself as well." He reminded her.
