Chapter 151: It will be okay.
There was a little roof top garden on top of a hotel that was a children’s playground. Mingzhu loved the playground but she did not go there often as it was expensive. Mei Mei had no idea where to take Mingzhu after they left home so she brought her there.
It was night, the playground was empty so they had the entire place to themselves. They had been there for twenty minutes and in that time, Minghzu had exhausted her tears.
Both of them were sitting on a trampoline but they were not bouncing.
"Are you feeling better now?" Mei Mei asked her.
Mingzhu nodded. "Sorry mommy." She apologized in a soft voice.
The apology had come much sooner than Mei Mei expected. "Why are you sorry?"
"Minghzu has been a bad baby. Mommy is mommy and mommy can be daddy." She answered through sniffles. freewēbnoveℓ.com
Mei Mei sighed, she moved forward slowly, covering the distance between herself and Mingzhu completely. That was not satisfactory she carried Mingzhu on her lap and hugged her.
They had a conversation about Mo Liang back when Mingzhu was four years old. She wanted to know why her father had gone to space and never returned. Why he never called on her birthdays and why he never wanted to talk to her and when he did, he was impatient.
She wanted to know he never defended her when her grandmother called her names. He often joined her in fact, not caring that she could hear them because his calls were always video holograms.
Back then, Mei Mei had told Mingzhu not to be so concerned, that not all fathers were worthy of the honor. Mei Mei had promised to be Mingzhu’s everything, her mother and father.
It seemed that after being spoiled by Jingzhe for a while, Mingzhu had tasted the love of a good father and she was becoming spoiled or greedy.
"Mingzhu, mommy knows that you love daddy Jingzhe and he loves you too but you cannot be willful all the time. If he has gone to work, you cannot just throw a tantrum and demand that he comes back home and see you immediately.
All the nice things that daddy Jingzhe buys you, he can afford them because he goes to work. It is just like mommy and the camp where you go with her every weekend. Mommy earns money to send you to a good school and buy you all the nice things you have. Just because ee are not with you all the time does not mean that we love you a little less than before."
She sighed. She did not know if talking about it in a monetary way would help Mingzhu understand that adults could not be at her beck and call as she wished. "Baby, can you tell me why you want to see daddy Jingzhe? Do you have something to tell him or a problem that needs fixing? Maybe mommy can fix it."
Mingzhu’s soft cries returned and in a small voice she said, "But what if good daddy goes away and he doesn’t come back? Mingzhu likes having a good daddy. I told my friends about him."
Her words broke Mei Mei’s heart into tiny little prickling pieces that stabbed her from the inside. She hugged Mingzhu tighter and patted her back. "He will come back. Mommy will do everything to make sure that he comes back. But even if he doesn’t, you have mommy forever and you have your uncles and your grandparents and your cousins." She kissed the top of Mingzhu’s head. "You are loved my girl, you are loved by many people. You are my precious little angel and I love you so much. Stop crying...okay...stop crying."
She continued to hold her daughter, patting her back and kissing her. Mingzhu’s fears would probably not go away immediately. It was like her and fire...to date, she was still weary of big flames. She had only started facing her fear because she had to cook for Mo Liang, Mrs. Sun and later on Mingzhu.
In the end, it was okay. The small fires had not killed her, so she knew Mingzhu would be okay but how long it would take, she did not know.
"It will be okay baby, I promise."
With tears running down her own eyes, she calmed Mingzhu down and lulled her to sleep.
Thirty minutes later, Mingzhe found her at the rooftop of the garden and he sat down on the ground next to the trampoline.
"What do you need?" he asked.
Mei Mei freed her left hand out from under Mingzhu’s back and she opened her palm out, facing upwards. Mingzhe reached up and he took her hand. There were no words needed between them. It was the twin code; when one was having a hard time and they could not find words to describe what they were suffering, then could just hold hands and it would all be okay.

Inside a hotel room, Chi Lian put her phone down and turned to her husband who was just walking out of the bathroom. She launched herself into his arms and sobbed.
At her house, Su Manchu looked at all of her children and she decided to hug them.
"It will be okay." she said to them.
At Rose’s house, Lian and Ming looked at their parents. Lian then said to her father, "Daddy, I am willing to share you with Mingzhu."
"Me too." Jang Ming seconded.
In his office, Ringo decided to go and pay another visit to the unconscious Mo Liang and punch him. Even though he was in a coma, he could still feel pain.
"Find Mo Jingzhe right now and tell him to go to my niece Jun Meilin immediately." he ordered his assailant.
The assistant went out to do his job, keeping to himself the thought that the Jun’s really inappropriately poked into each other’s business. How could they turn their lives into episodes of series to be watched?
On one hand, it was a good way to keep up with everyone no matter where they were in the world but on the other hand, did they not understand the concept of privacy?
The great grandparents and grandparents decided there and then that they would not be waiting to Mei Mei to find them one by one and apologize. It was time for them to go to her. Mingzhu and Mei Mei needed them.
Her uncles were also coming to the same decision. Why wait when they could do what Rose did?
Mei Mei, Mingzhe and Mingzhu were out on that rooftop playground for thirty five more minutes. Silence had stretched between them and the wind had beaten them until goosebumps broke out on their skins.
Mingzhe’s coat was covering Mingzhu’s body. She was snoring, sleeping comfortably in her mother’s arms.
"We should get her home." Mingzhe told her.
Mei Mei nodded.
Mingzhe stood up and took Mingzhu from Mei Mei’s arms. A fleet of cars used by imperial soldiers was already waiting on stand by. They flew back to Mei Mei’s house and put Mingzhu to bed.
