Chapter 143: Tang Yue’s good news.

For Tang Yue, it was a semi-bad day after she was temporarily suspended from her duties at the hospital. This was because the press was still following her around, demanding to know if she was truly the source of Gao Jiajia’s information. They were also asking why she had not made an apology yet.

Reporters were bothering other doctors and patients, sneaking into the hospital with hopes of getting a picture or a quote that could outdo the minister and his sperm scandal.

So, she was sent home. When she reached home, she found that she had received new mail. It was all bills and three new defamation lawsuits that she had been slapped with. She was being sued by Gao Jiajia for providing false information causing malicious harm to Gao Jiajia’s reputation.

She was also being sued by Jun Meilin for defamation. It was highlighted that Tang Yue had shared wrong information that resulted in reputational damage and financial loss.

She was also being sued by the royal family. Specifically, the crown prince for making malicious statements, sharing them publicly and tarnishing his reputation.

In each case, if found guilty she would have to make a public apology, compensate for damages and it was possible that she could face imprisonment up to two years.

Tang Yue rolled the papers into one ball and she thrust at the wall, groaning angrily.

"What did I say that was false?" she shouted to the ceiling.

She was feeling wronged and persecuted because she had only shared the truth. Even though it could not be proven, it was true that Emperor Junjie had asked Jun Meilin to marry him. Who in the circle of the wealthy was not aware of this fact?

Tang Yue was unwilling to go to prison. She decided that she needed to find someone from that circle to testify for her. She had spent many years in their world, Jun Meilin had enemies. Tang Yue was sure that if she shook a few trees, something was bound to fall out.

As she bent down to unzip her boots, she realized that she had missed another mail that had fallen to the ground. It was from the government hospital which conducted tests for the experts that had gone for the mission in the pace. Every week, they were required to send in blood for testing.

Every two weeks, they had to go to the hospital in person to be tested physically. She guessed that the envelope contained the latest results of her blood work. She picked it up and walked deeper into the apartment going to her bedroom to change her clothes.

She tossed the envelope on the bed. Tang Yue did not pay any mind to the results, she was certain that there was nothing to see. If there was a problem, the hospital would have called her or she would be in isolation like Mo Liang already.

Thinking of him made her think twice. Perhaps it was not a bad idea to check the results just in case there was something abnormal the doctors missed. So, she opened it and perused through it.

Suddenly, she noticed something that made her blink twice in surprise. Her HCG levels were higher than average. As a doctor, she knew what this indicated and of all the possibilities, there was only one which made the most sense.

"I am pregnant!" She exclaimed.

She was disbelief for a moment and her hand trailed to her stomach. Tang Yue thought back to when she had last seen her period and she realized that it was a week before they touched down on earth.

Despite all the stress since their return, she had Mo Liang had not been able to keep their hands off each other. Even when she had gone to the hospital to visit him, they had done it in the bathroom.

Tang Yue smiled with happiness. The timing of this pregnancy could not have been better. First of all, the Xu’s lawsuit would be thrown out. How could she carry a child for their dead son if she was already pregnant? Even though her lawyer had assured her that the Xu’s would not win, the lawsuit was costing her money, wasting her time and dragging her good name through the mud.

Mrs. Xu was a vindictive woman and she would surely not give up. Even if she did not want Tang Yue to truly be the mother of her grandchild, she would keep suing just because she could.

Tang Yue curled further upwards as she thought to herself that by the time she had this baby she would have migrated to another country and Mrs. Xu would be buried in anger that she would never resolve.

Secondly, even with the defamation lawsuits, she would not be imprisoned if she was pregnant. The empire was sympathetic to pregnant women, only pregnant women that had committed very serious crimes were imprisoned.

The last reason for Tang Yue’s joy was because she was finally having another child with the love of her life. Mei Mei had one child, a daughter that was not loved. She on the other hand had two children now and both would be loved.

In this battle, she had won.

Tang Yue took a picture of the paper, cropped out the part which showed her HCG levels and sent it to Mei Mei.

For some reason, that did not satisfy her and she decided to add a text. [Sister, Mingzhu is going to be a big sister again. I hope that you share the good news with her.]

She was about to sit when she got a call from the director of the kindergarten where Mo Hao was going. Apparently there had been a fight and he was involved. Without wasting a moment, she picked up her bag and rushed out of her apartment.

*****

Mei Mei was still in the meeting when she received the text. She took one look at it and scoffed. Tang Yue was really talented in trying to provoke her.

She did not care that Tang Yue was pregnant, that was her business. What she did care about was the fact that she was pulling Mingzhu into it.

Give me a moment." She told He Zhenyu who was making a suggestion.

She rotated her chair to face the window and then she sent the picture Tang Yue had sent to the inbox of the mighty little peepstar. Since Tang Yue wanted to share the good news, she might as well share it with more people.

She exhaled and smiled. It was good news indeed.
