Chapter 1525: Copy?

Rain kept his hands open as if he was ignoring Lonos words and that made him raise an eyebrow... it felt like Rain truly wasn’t using his head at all... but then he used his instantaneous attack to punch Rain’s face... and then his fists were grabbed by Rain’s hands. The attack pushed Rain backward for several kilometers, but that didn’t stop him from using Data Extraction and Data Mining.

The skill Time Dilation leveled up.

The skill Time Dilation leveled up.

The skill Time Dilation leveled up.

...

Lonos was caught off guard, but soon he freed himself by kicking Rain dozens of times with the instantaneous attack... Rain’s body curved, and then he flew into the distance... after that, he fell on the hard ground and rolled for a while. His mind blancked during the sequence of attacks.

When Rain stopped, he coughed a bunch of times and spat a lot of blood... the attacks pretty much smashed all the organs in his stomach, and that had been pretty agonizing. He could tell that Lonos got a bit angry.

"It seems that you were ready for the next level of attacks, but you are already much worse than before. Anyway, I am impressed... I never had to use anything to defeat my opponents aside from my punches."

Rain got up while touching the ground and then used Data Mining again... but he didn’t get any response... it felt like the skills didn’t even activate. As Rain checked the origin planet of the machine gods, a sense of eerie desolation washed over him. The landscape stretched out before him, bathed in an artificial darkness that seemed to suffocate any hint of natural light. There were no signs of life or organic matter to be found, only the cold, metallic expanse of the terrain beneath his feet.

The ground beneath him resembled the dark steel of the dragons he had faced before, its surface devoid of any warmth or vitality. It was as if the entire planet had been crafted from the same cold, lifeless material, its existence devoid of the vibrant energy that typically from natural landscapes.

The stark contrast between the artificial darkness and the barren landscape only served to amplify the sense of foreboding that hung heavy in the air. There was an undeniable sense of emptiness and isolation that permeated the atmosphere, leaving Rain with a feeling of unease as he ventured further into this alien world. As he took in the sight before him, Rain couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something inherently wrong about this place.

"Rais tried time and time again to find the origins of this planet since we were also curious about our own origin, but we found nothing. In the latest experiment, we concluded that this place was built many years ago, even before we started working. Rais tried to find information millions of years before us as well, but he found nothing. It is very unlikely that you will find anything..."

"I know why he didn’t find anything," Rain said.

"Oh, really... why?"

"Because he isn’t me," Rain said.

In the next moment, Rain suddenly appeared in front of Lonos and then punched his face... Lonos moved his head backward out of reflex to avoid the attack, but then the back of his head was hit since Rain used Origin Punch as well with his other hand. In the end, Lonos felt his head shaking thanks to the attack...

The Rain didn’t stop there; he bombarded Lonos face with a sequence of almost instant punches as well... he couldn’t do that from a distance, and he wasn’t as fast as Lonos, but he was fast enough. When Lonos tried to kick him like before, Rain blocked it with his right knee and was pushed backward. His knee broke, but at least he avoided too much damage.

"How... you shouldn’t be able to... copy me... the technique is different,"

"Indeed it is, I am not going to explain, though," Rain said.

Rain’s technique was a fusion of Time Dilation and Light Speed, granting him remarkable speed and precision in combat. With this combination, he could execute attacks with astonishing swiftness, delivering blows at a rate of once every millisecond. This level of agility and rapidity allowed him to outmaneuver many opponents and strike with unparalleled efficiency.

However, despite Rain’s power, he found himself outmatched by Lonos’s unparalleled speed. Lonos, with his ability to attack twenty times in a single millisecond, possessed a level of agility and reflexes that surpassed even Rain’s enhanced capabilities. This disparity in speed was something else...

The reason for Lonos’ surprise lay in the fact that no one had ever managed to get close enough to him to witness his true speed in action. As one of the strongest machine gods, Lonos typically maintained a safe distance from his adversaries, relying on his Foresight and strategic prowess to outmaneuver and outwit his opponents from afar.

Lonos instant attack combined Time Dilation with another Temporal path technique, so Rain couldn’t copy it. Still, at least he made things a bit more even with his brain once again.

While Lonos was trying to understand what Rain had done, Rain tried to use the energy path on that planet to absorb some kinetic energy, but much to his surprise, he failed in doing that... it looked like that planet wasn’t moving at all... that was hard to understand.

"Even if this place is artificial, it should feel the effects of gravity of the closest stars... unless it was created to ignore that for some reason," Rain thought. "There is little light here, and the temperature is normal... I can’t recover energy as usual..."

Rain was counting on his friends to help him with that, but while it was convenient that they didn’t have to face two machine gods at the same time, that also put his plans in disarray... he could only hope that they would cover for each other well.
