The closest stars to our Solar System are part of the Alpha Centauri star system. Alpha Centauri is a triple star system consisting of three stars: Alpha Centauri A, Alpha Centauri B, and Proxima Centauri. Proxima Centauri was the closest of the three and is the closest known star to the Sun.

"Proxima Centauri was a red dwarf star located at a distance of approximately 4.24 light-years from the Sun. It is the closest known star to our Solar System. Proxima Centauri was located in the constellation of Centaurus," Sakaki said. "Alpha Centauri A was a star similar to our Sun. It was slightly larger and more luminous than the Sun. Alpha Centauri A was located about 4.37 light-years away.

Alpha Centauri B was a K-type main-sequence star, somewhat smaller and cooler than the Sun. It is also located about 4.37 light-years away."

"They were?" Rain asked.

"Were… because I can't see them," Sakaki said. "I was unable to see them with your telescope. Even though I should have been able to see them… at the same time, I can't find any registers of the planets that we have thus far."

Stars in our galaxy have their own motions, known as proper motion, as they orbit the galactic center. Over thousands of years, these motions can cause changes in the relative positions of stars and, consequently, in the appearance and location of constellations. The Milky Way, our galaxy, is rotating, and the positions of stars within it are not static.

Over tens of thousands of years, stars will have moved relative to each other.

"So… you are saying that something made them change their positions?" Rain asked. "And that we can't use the positions of the constellations that we knew of the past as reference?"

"That is right," Rain said.

Things were starting to get insane… Rain could accept the use of several planets and the creation of military bases the size of small planets, but he couldn't accept that the people or living beings were able to change the map of the cosmos… that was just too much. Even if civilizations could keep growing endlessly for thousands of years, it was hard to imagine them doing and for what purpose?

"We probably won't be able to find those planets and we didn't find anything odd with the ones that we found so far," Larisa said. "However, considering that we didn't find until now signs of their destruction, it is hard to guess… even now, we still haven't found out what happened to Mars, so worrying about that is a waste of time."

"She has a point… for now, we will have to draw a new map and check the movements of the celestial bodies around us," Rain said. "I can't ask this to others, so you will have to handle this."

"Maxime isn't busy anymore, so he can work with Larisa on that," Sakaki said. "If he isn't much of a nuisance, Nigel can help too."

Elisabetha was keeping an eye on Iori, and Vanessa was trying to teach Rain how to drain mana from spells and from others, so only those three could work on that.

Maxime could have helped Rain, but with Seara and Terra's help, Rain was able to make new suits over the next few days and they also learned a lot from him. Eventually, they should be able to make themselves… it would take a while more for Seara since water magic was her strength. Still, with enough mana, anyone could do it.

Over the course of the next weeks, the group reunited a few times to share information about the destination and the formation of the teams. According to Rain, they should have forty suits ready to use when the time comes, but people still needed time to get used to them and their functions. So, with some luck, they could have thirty or so warriors on their side for the mission.

Aside from the members of the first mission, the elite of the other factions were going too. Sealyn, Seadrei, Seadir were going too. At the same time, Isa and the three bodyguards and Van… Rain's kids were going too, his sisters too.

"If we are forced to split up, it is unlikely that all of us will be on the same team," Rain thought. "They are still a bit stronger than me, but can they use their heads creatively to fight well under these conditions?"

Rain couldn't babysit everyone, so he had to have faith on them… he also helped them get stronger with Magic Sacrifice and Endurance Sacrifice as well.

"You will never change, huh?" Dana asked after sighing.

"What are you talking about?" Rain asked.

"When you are worries about someone, you start to interact with them a lot more than before," Dana explained. "While that is appreciated, it is also hard to feel completely thankful over it since we feel almost like we are dead weight."

Rain's gaze inadvertently moved towards Kei and Gila, and he couldn't help but notice a familiar expression on their faces. It mirrored the sentiment he had observed in Dana—a subtle mix of determination and a silent annoyance. It seemed as if they were silently asking him when he would cease treating them as if they were made of glass.

Deep down, Rain cherished his role as a protector, especially for his younger sisters. However, in their eyes, he could discern a shared desire for independence, a yearning to prove that they were more than just fragile beings in need of constant safeguarding.

These were no ordinary little sisters. Dana, Kei and Gila had not only survived but thrived in a world dominated by dragons for a century. Their resilience and strength spoke volumes about their capabilities, and the glint in their eyes suggested a readiness to face challenges head-on.

Rain, acknowledging their unspoken plea, made a mental note to reevaluate his approach. They were still his little sisters, deserving of care and consideration, but they were also formidable individuals capable of facing the trials that lay ahead.
