Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1063: Change in the map
"Well, let's focus on the real issue now," Sealyn said. "We need to prepare for another invasion. While the first wasn't a failure, many people saw the results as unsatisfactory."
"We learned a few things in exchange, but things were far from perfect," Esmeralda said. "Regardless, the target is in another location. The defenses that we will find will be different."
"The cannon could still be assembled there, but with a planet of that size, we would be able to see the cannon crossing their atmosphere," Regis said. "Considering that the target is real world, we can send a large party for battle. That, however, increases the risks. Sending a party to investigate the terrain a bit and the possible locations of enemies still would benefit us a lot."
"True, but we will have to show the results taking a different course of action this time, in order to make people understand that we are trying to find the best options," Sealyn said. "This time, a large group, or several small groups should go and invade the planet."
Sealyn's proposal was a pragmatic approach, emphasizing the need to learn from the shortcomings of the previous invasion. However, Rain couldn't help but recognize the potential challenges coming with the plan. While a large-scale invasion held its merits, it also brought forth a new set of issues that needed careful consideration.
The idea of sending a large force to infiltrate the planet was not without its drawbacks. One major concern was the limited number of individuals proficient in using the exploration suits and manipulating domains effectively. These skills were crucial for navigating the unknown terrain and countering potential threats.
The realization dawned that if things took an unexpected turn, the ability to escape safely might become a serious issue.
"Sealyn, your plan makes sense, but we need to acknowledge that not everyone in our ranks is adept at using exploration suits or handling domains," Esmeralda said. "Escaping might become a real challenge if things go awry. Perhaps a mix of large and small groups, with each focusing on its strengths, would be a more balanced approach.
We can maximize our chances of success while minimizing the risks associated with the lack of specialized skills among our forces."
"How about a group that would work as a diversion while the other would try to cause damage and gather intel behind the scenes?" Sealyn asked. "I am willing to lead the diversion team."
"While it is feasible, nothing says that the bait would be the group in most danger," Regis said. "If they are highly qualified, they might be found and killed or worse, captured and forced to reveal everything they know."
Sealyn couldn't deny that… the fact that they didn't have to worry right now about the Star vessel being a target of a massive weapon of destruction, there were other issues they had to deal with… and they weren't easy.
After talking for a while, a lot of people who were watching the meeting voiced their opinions. Most of them wanted to test that approach, but nothing said that their opinions were absolute.
"Rain can use the same thing as Iori is doing, right?" Esmeralda asked. "If we are planning to split the forces, we still will have to make them reunite on the same spot in order for them to escape without luring the enemies toward our base.
We can get closer without being found, but we can't be reckless… my opinion on this is that we should send a single team of medium size and give the leader of the camp the option to split the group if they deem it necessary."
"Isa is also learning that technique, and before we reach the target, she should have mastered it," Regis added. "With that in mind, I also believe that this would be the best option."
Isa stayed silent and didn't react to that. She didn't mind fighting when she had to, but she wasn't that proactive when it comes to that kind of job. It would be helpful to have her on the field, but Rain didn't want to take anyone unless they truly wanted to go.
"Having two people with that kind of ability will be useful, but we need to know if Isa will be truly ready for it," Esmeralda said. "My impression of her is that she wants to do more backstage work."
"While that is true, I don't mind giving a hand when the necessity arises on the field," Isa declared. "You can count on me."
"Since that is decided, we need to decide the participants on the mission and the goals," Sealyn said. "First of all, we don't know the conditions in that world aside that it will be cold. We will need to produce more exploration suits."
In the end, that was more work for Rain… teaching others how to make every single part and make them connected was too much for someone who didn't have the knowledge from the past, but Rain would need some assistance. Terra and Seara would be the best options for that and everyone agreed to it.
"We still have two months to prepare for it, this should be enough for now," Regis said. "Until we get more information about the target, we can't decide anything else. For now, let's focus on increasing our power and resources."
Everyone nodded and then they decided to start working already, Rain wanted to do the same, but Sakaki had other plans.

"Rain, I was accessing my library knowledge because I got curious about those four planets and I recalled something worrying," Sakaki said.
"You mean, you accessed your wikipedia?" Rain asked.
"I wonder how I forgot something this obvious… but the truth is, aside from the solar system, the closest stars were supposed to be much further away from us and we already found six," Sakaki said. "I can't explain how or began to understand it, but the map of the stars changed a lot in the last one hundred thousand years."
