Victorio Louche.
Levon didn’t know whether to applaud Victorio for not being discriminatory with his preys, or be weirded out instead?
’With my current situation, shouldn’t this guy go pick on someone else to fight and hunt?... Or should I say this guy has too much faith in his intuition and his prey, rather than the Shard results?’
Nevertheless, he, Levon, still wished to fight Victorio.
He always have the desire to fight the strong
When you look at it deeply, being deemed the weakest, only meant he had a lot more People to FIGHT.
’It’s odd.’
The tattoo mark on his chest constantly felt warm, unlike others who said they only felt a brief tingling sensation and nothing more.
’Is it because it’s a weaker Shard?’
Levon paused with a frown, soon following behind the group.
Shard awakening was done, but this wasn’t the end.
Up next, they were taken to a strange murky and milky Pool.
According to Winhest, all newly awakened shards must use this fluid to assimilate with the human body better.... A process that makes them become one with them.
With clothes on, everyone did as told, spitting in the many murky pools.
No matter how strong one’s shard was, an hour was the max time needed for these shards to adjust after getting awakened.
The space was dark and foggy, with over 200 ’pools’ for as far as Levon’s eyes could see.
~Splash!
Water overflowed from the pool when Levon got in.
Then, he heard the agonizing muffles of many.
Even the strongest amongst them, Victorio, has gasped.
But why?
While everyone’s body was turning red like a lobster, he felt nothing.
If anything, he only felt hunger enveloping his being.
’Am I doing something wrong?’
Levon looked around in confusion.
To be honest, these pools resemble moon craters to him; and the foggy mist gave a touch of privacy.
The longer they sat, the foggier the place became.
The mist was thin, but enough to drown the images of others, only leaving their shadowy silhouettes behind.
Hunger... and a little heat.
Levon’s heart was pulsing again, sending warmth out at an alarming rate. Yet, there was no pain.
Rather, he felt he was absorbing the murky essence without consequences.
In the far distance, Winhest’s eyes almost fell off their sockets, when seeing the incredulous scene.
Mind you, it has been a long time since he, Winhest, has been truly shocked.
Everyone else had their eyes closed, focused on their own matter within smaller pools.
Only Winhest, who was supervising the situation, saw how fast the misty murky waters were turning bland.
’Can a shard absorb so much?’
Has this ever happened in their history before?
Winhest appeared beside Levon in a flash, again alarmed by how relaxed he was.
Are you sure that shard was a pile 1 shard?... Or...
’Could it be that the boy’s physique was so good that it could withstand the pain of ordinary absorption?’
Soon, Winhest threw such whimsical thoughts out his head.
No, there must be something wrong with the pool the boy was in.
It was unheard of for something like this to happen, especially to someone who had a Pile 1 Shard.
Concluding so, Winhest no longer paid attention to Levon.
No matter what the reason is, a person who awakens a pile 1 shard, will only have limited potential moving forward.
"Your time is up."
Winhest’s words felt like amnesty, crawling out panting heavily.
It hurts... It hurts like hell...
They sat on the floors for a while, no one saying a Goddamn thing.
Well, only Levon felt okay. He brazenly walked out of the pool, standing in observation at the twitching and rolling human silhouettes on the ground.
He couldn’t even see who was who.
Grabbing his shoes, he flared his legs and did his best to dry his feet out before putting them on.
Levon walked over the sprawling, crawling silhouettes, leaving the same way he came.
Winhest gave Levon one last glance, before completely throwing his name out of his thoughts.
’Levon Belmont... Unfortunately, this is the end of the line for you.’
What excellence can come from a Pile One Shard user?

—Trash
That was the meaning behind their disdainful gazes.
Levon was unfazed. What do their opinions have to do with him?
With his hands in his pockets, he walked between Shugo and Artilla, amidst the crowd. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
They had long left the murky pools, no longer so red as before.
With the knowledge of their Shard ranks and potential, many walked more confident than before.
Hah!
No matter how bad they were, they were still far better than LEVON.
Following Winhest diligently, they soon found themselves standing in the classroom from earlier.
It was still empty, echoey, and enormous.
The fact that the tables and benches haven’t popped out from the walls after reentering the classroom, signified they won’t be needing to sit from here on out.
"Shard Training begins now." Winhest announced. "And let me just say that I’ll only show you once. So sit."
With no seats, several people sat cross-legged, while others sat with their knees high and their feet firmly on the ground.
Then—
(Silence)
The classroom was as silent as a graveyard.
They all stared at Winhest, tasting their pulse in their throats.
"Your shards have now become a part of you."
"Thanks to them, your bodies will continue to grow stronger than any humanoid capabilities."
’Just as I expected.’ Levon subconsciously nodded, recalling the supernatural abilities of Winhest and others.
In a nutshell, they will be superhuman, right?
Fufufufufufufu~
Everyone else still had a relaxed appearance, with some leaning down, while others looked to be laying about instead.
However, their ears were all perked to the skies, and their lips stretched into unnatural grins.
Winhest paused, sweeping his cold eyes across the masses. Soon, he stretched his hand forth, allowing his paper ability to appear before them.
Well, it was time to give these little puppies their first True Lesson:—Mutation.
