I Will Survive Till The End: Blood Extermination Academy-Chapter 174: The Difference Between Fools & Thinkers
Chapter 174: The Difference Between Fools & Thinkers
Arc 3, Chapter 174— The Difference Between Fools & Thinkers
.
.
What a nightmare.
Everyone’s face looked dull and full of dark sags underneath their eyes—they didn’t get any Freakin’ SLEEP!
Drm-Drm-Drm~
The grinding sounds of the train paddling against the tracks, now filled each cabin. Its shrill and overly loud cries pierced through the stillness, weaving a thread of unpredictability in the atmosphere. It now sounded like a haunting melody, one that gave birth to the notion and possibility that those ghouls might return.
It’s been 30 minutes since the Ghouls completely vanished. Yet, many sat still in a daze, no one knowing what was going through their minds.
Soon, Levon rose back to his feet alongside Leo. Heading back down, they also spotted several others on the roofs of many cabins.
The only reason they stayed back was to see if this was a trick from the Ghouls... Who knows if these ghouls would return?
Yes, ghouls are weak under sunlight, and will turn into fire and burn to death after a couple of minutes, depending on their strengths. But one never knows what lengths these ghouls will go, since the sun hadn’t completely risen up yet during the time the ghouls vanished.
Now after 30 minutes, the sun was prominent, and twilight was gone... Now they were certain these ghouls won’t return.
Heading back into the Cabin, Levon was taken aback by the Cabin’s current state. The foul stench of old blood clung to his clothes and filled Levon’s nostrils the moment he stepped in. It was stale, moldy, and honestly gave the illusion that a million maggots were crawling across the space.
Such a bad stench was even more grotesque than rotting old corpses.
Terrible...
The grand purple velvety carpets, as well as the nicely made wooden corridors, were filled with tearing and withering—made even more prominent by the many deep fingernail marks on their surfaces.
It looked like a thousand beasts had clawed on the carpets and the walls.
Some carpet corners were also ripped completely off too, while other parts looked like they had been chewed and broken apart by a wolf dog.
There were dents in the walls... but surprisingly, not on the floor underneath the carpets. It seemed the underlining wood used for the grounds were far superior in strength and durability compared to that of the walls.
What sort of tree was the wood carved from?
After living in this place for so long, Levon knew that there were some trees that were so tough that even he couldn’t cause a dent in them after giving it his best shot.
These trees had exteriors that were as hard as diamond—possibly even stronger.
Levon recalled that he had come across such trees in the forbidden forest. Yet, Gaara was able to shatter these trees with a single poke.
You don’t understand? Gaara had lightly poked just 1 tree, yet tens and hundreds behind it shattered into a million pieces.
It was incredible to watch!
Just how powerful was the force behind Gaara’s simple poking?
It seems that when one reaches a current strength level, if they don’t control themselves, they might end up accidentally destroying the world itself with their overpowered abilities.
Walking in further, Levon slowly pushed his already opened bedroom door, to see shattered pieces of glass and window hinges and silts all across the room.
Damn! There was even a basketball-sized hole on the left side of the wall that left a constant draft in the space.
Levon shook his head wryly, and continued forward with Leo towards the shared common area. Well, it was in an even-worse state than the rooms and the corridors. But he knew that this wasn’t the time to dilly-dally.
Even though there was no Clara here to give them shit for damaging property, they still needed to do something about their current state.
Levon ran his hand through his damp sweaty hair while looking at the mess, and both groups seated on the ground. In a corner, someone was whimpering in pain while wrapping her injured leg, while another was wrapping his injured arm.
Levon’s eyes turned cold, as he slowly began to undress.
They say the weaker a Vampire, the longer its victims take to transform. Whereas, stronger Vampires can control how fast or how slow they want their victims to turn. They can make you turn in under a few seconds, or make you turn in a few hours.
However, no matter how strong a vampire was, it seems the natural Laws only permit it to drag the victim’s transformation to no longer than 4 DAYS. So if attacked by a High powerful vampire, 4 days is that maximum time they have to be human before completely turning.
It could be a few hours before you turn... 2 days, 1 day before they completely turn. However, only the high-ranking vampire that bit then, would know how long they have before the turn.
Bottom line, ghouls have no control over this matter.
....
"Strip." Levon’s words coupled with his strong aura, everyone subconsciously stripped right down to their underwear.
What a joke!
This was a matter of life and death. So who cares if they were dressed in their underpants? If you go to a beach with a bikini, you can strip now for everyone to see if BEATEN or NOT!
Levon’s eyes narrowed dangerously, after seeing a few hesitant people. "Don’t let me repeat myself again...STRIP.
Standing in just their underwear, everyone was scrutinized by each other, right down to the last detail.
Levon breathed out a sigh of relief. Although 2 were injured, they were bitten or infected. Their injuries came from shattered glass and broken wooden pieces embedded into their flesh earlier.
In the other group, several people had a mixture of feelings towards Levon’s group.
Some felt awkward, seeing as Rayna had protected them during the invasion. No doubt it must be her leader, Levon, who gave out such instructions.
Of course, some felt NO gratitude for Levon’s group thinking that these people rescued them only to show off or make them carry the Dept of Rescue in their hearts.
Hmph! They didn’t believe these people would be so kind as to rescue them without expecting anything in return. A majority in the group still had arrogant and haughty expressions when looking at Levon’s side.
As for the last and weakest person in the group, all he felt in his heart was shame—shame for their current strengths. Clenching his fists, he swore to train 20 times harder while on the train!... Maybe after rigorous training, he will be the one saving people and showcasing his newfound strength during the enemies next Invasion.
Speaking of last night’s Invasion, how did Levon’s side know that the enemy was coming?—It wasn’t just that group that pondered on this question, but Levon’s side too.
They didn’t hear or feel anything out of the ordinary. So how did he know?
The eyes of Shugo, Artilla, Rayna and Leo, gleamed thoughtfully. Their leader seemed to be different from them.
It was his shard, wasn’t it?
Drm-Drm-Drm~
The train’s noises continued to churn loudly in their ears.
One by one, everyone was scrutinized collectively by both groups.
’No bite marks, or infection signs.’ Levon nodded inwardly.
So far, so good...
Everyone was honestly dead tired, and knew that if they don’t get some shut eye, they won’t be able to do anything else for the time being. Their rooms were all a mess and filled with holes in the walls.
It’s true that there were also several holes in the walls of the shared space. But this place wasn’t as badly torn down as their rooms.
Looking at the clock on the wall that was still intact and the sun, Levon squinted his eyes thoughtfully. Then, he touched the clock abbot, understanding its steam powered mechanism after a few minutes.
"It’s almost 8 AM now. We’ll rest till 1 PM and rise to get to work."
That gives them 5 hours of rest. That was good enough. Levon had set the clock to wake them up when the time struck 1PM.
Several people nodded, already closing their eyes after laying on the ripped and damaged carpeted floors.
There were planks and wooden pieces everywhere, but they didn’t care. Both groups passed out in the common area in under 4 minutes after Levon spoke.
...
Zzzzzzzz~
The snoring festivities were on.
Shugo and a few others seem to compete in their sleep, snoring in rhythm with one another. Levon was also fast asleep, as well as many in other cabins too.
Of course some chose to bear the weight of their tiredness and get to work. But many like Levon, Hendrix, Florianna, Batista, and a select few other leaders had their groups fall asleep.
Did you know that when exhausted, you complete work 2~3 times slower than usual?
Heh.
For them, time is LIFE.
You might waste an entire day because of your stupidity, after making such a decision.
With that, they too joined the snoring crew after making plans of their own.
