~Whoop, Whoop, Whoop, Whoop.
President Glandol and several others watched the chopper take off in knee-deep silence. Everything that happened to say felt like a fairytale—a dark, grim tale a part of them wished they never knew. It was over, yet their hands were twitching spastically.
Struggling to control their quivering, they took out thin buds of cigarettes to ease the trauma. Some smoked, some crouched down staring at the ants in a daze, while others spat out one-liner exclamations and cursed from time to time.
After today, it will be pretty darn hard staying out late into the night.
Hell!
Didn’t you listen to that stuck-up prick? The night is when these Blood suckers are most active. Those with children already felt shaky, wondering how they’d keep their teenage brats under control. In fact, even their adult children were in danger too.
Smoke... smoke... smoke... they needed to have a good smoke or a good drink.
However, one thing was certain: their Beloved Country must remain under the protection of the CHURCH.
President Glandol has never been so freaking terrified in his life. He was about to head towards his own chopper and head for the hills when he got a glimpse of fuzzy silhouettes approaching from the estate’s Gates.
Dammit.
Who the hell are these people?
He opened his mouth, but soon kept it shut when seeing them unleash supernatural abilities similar to Claudina.
The entire estate was torched with a special fire in the blink of an eye. It was odd that the fire didn’t burn anything else apart from the many blood splatters around.
But this wasn’t all. Soon, strange translucent Slugs were released from around the estate. They entered rooms, expanding till it fully cloaks the room in pink goo.
Then after contracting, the room would be left disinfected and everything neatly out in ace as though there wasn’t even a struggle in here in the first place.
Broken chairs were magically glued together, and everything looked as it was before the Ghouls attacked.
This...
Wasn’t this a too-good cleanup job?
If someone had told them that such a massive scene of chaos could be cleaned up in just a few breaths, they would definitely think the speaker was mad.
But the facts were staring them right in the face. Some people slapped themselves on their cheeks, disbelief written all over their faces.
Imagine if they had gone out to report them after, or even told others about it over the phone.
Who would believe it after rushing to the veins screen and seeing everything neat and tidy?
Bah!
What vampire horde? Are you sure you guys didn’t party too well that you began having illusionary fantasies? In a nutshell, no one would believe them.
Suddenly, President Glandol and many others understand why they’ve never gotten and wind of any vampire attacks, or even news of the Church’s protective actions.
Damn. With a cleanup crew like this... what more can anyone say to back up their story of what they witnessed?
The Cleanup crew were in uniforms, wearing long black trench coat jackets that flared majestically in the wind. They walked in unison, their boots singing in rhythm with every step they took.
This was truly an eye-opener for Glandol and everyone else.
The cleanup crew appeared like the wind and also left like the wind, Reconstruction and Restoration in under 6 minutes.... And this was for a gigantic Estate, the size of a palace.
Then imagine how fast they’ll be for a smaller, simpler building?
Like so, the mysterious group vanished in the twinkle of an eye, leaving everything speechless. And when their ’backup’ arrived 25 minutes later, they didn’t know what else to say.
"Mr. President, are you alright? Medic! I need a medic here fast! Quickly, check on the President’s vitals!"
"Mr. President! Mr. President! Are you alright? We came as soon as we could."
"Yes, yes, Minister Ractus. What’s going on? You said you will explain once we arrive. What’s going on? Where is the danger?"
"_" [Glandol, the Ministers, the Guards, the surviving chefs, the staff and everyone else]
...
Now that there was no ’excessive’ evidence, how do you expect them to tell you what really happened here?
If they tell you it was the work of vampires, would you believe it?
At least, the special cleanup crew left some bullet marks and holes on the walls, and even caused explosions in a few corners. There were also some blood splatter patterns making it convincing.
Everyone shook their heads wryly.
Well, the ’evidence’ pointed to just one thing:
"Mercenaries..." Glandol began.
"They came, seized communications, and killed several innocent people..."
It was amazing how Claudina left some body parts of the infected.
Just like a snake’s venom, it takes time to spread to all body parts. And when it does, you completely turn. These body parts hadn’t been corrupted yet. So it made everyone’s story more believable.
In the end, the evidence all showed that there was some battle with guns happening here. It seemed that it happened outside in the open gardens and courtyards.
Mr. President, the Ministers, and many of the guards and the others probably sealed themselves indoors as the battle commenced.
Look, there are tire marks and all sorts of evidence that made their claims accurate.
Glandol and many others smiled wryly, going on with their story they’d discussed. Letting the world that vampires exist could cause widespread panic.
At least some blood was left behind after the cleanup crew vanished and their stories all tied up.
All in all, if Forensics came up here, they could draw up a pretty good scene backing whatever story Glandol was telling them.
They didn’t know it yet, but during the time the vampire horde attacked, a strange cloud that claimed not just the estate, but the far surrounding regions, looking completely natural in nature.
In short, no one would believe whatever fictional story they make up apart from this.
