Chapter 121: Who?

Arc 2, Chapter 121— Who?

.

.

What the hell was going on?

Astonished wasn’t even the word to describe Levon’s current state.

"How can this be? Who knew he could appear in a chamber within his own body?

Levon didn’t know what to make of this matter, standing before 2 Giant prison gates opened from the middle, both sides swaying.

The space was dark, only dimly lit by the crimson walls that coated the space.

Looking behind him, he realized there was a long corridor with damp walls... but damp with what?...

"Is that my blood?"

On the walls, beads of blood formed one by one, before sliding down the walls into the toe-deep floors of blood underneath his feet.

Grrrrrr~

A strange muffling noise growled from a distance, prompting Levon to focus his attention to the dark space ahead.

Before him was a mighty Prison... with a barred gate that looked as if it was put in place to keep the Devil himself locked in.

Bubuum, Bubuum~

Levon’s heart rate accelerated. What lay within this forced Prison cell, must be something alarming.

Then something else caught his eyes.

"The broken locks on the gates... Did I do that?"

Levon saw 6 giant locks broken and shattered.

"Could the resistance I’ve had from the start be because of these locks?"

While many advance leaps and bounds with their shards, he was often met with resistance. But now, he felt he found the answer.

Good...

Levon’s eyes gleamed with pique curiosity.

It was odd to say that this was his own body... the body he has known since he could recall cognition.

Looking at the walls, he knew exactly what part of his body he was in.

This was no doubt his first time venturing into his own body, yet he seemed to know the way.

Still, the big question now was not whether these locks were broken by him or not.

"I don’t know why, but I feel that these locks were in place before I had my shard.Did I have them from birth?"

Levon massaged his elbow distractedly.

"Whatever was in me, was imprisoned by who-knows-who... In this world of Bloodrens, Vampires and Ghouls, it’s best to know exactly what my body is imprisoned for."

Hmmm...

Levon was surprised that despite there being no lollipop in his mouth, he could still taste the strawberry sensation on his tongue.

It made sense, since only his consciousness was drawn here. His body was still sucking on a lollipop, surrounded by chaos in the belly of a Toad.

~Tick-Tock. Tick-Tock.

Time was running out.

...

Seated within the forest, Sultan and Gaara continued their little game of chess.

They still played the same game they were on when Levon arrived for training.

Having spent time fighting all sorts of creatures before being thrown into the belly of a toad, it has now been well over 4 hours since Levon began today’s nightly training.

Morning was fast approaching, and the boy had little time left for his escape.

After rubbing his chin, Gaara made a bold move across the chess board. "What do you think? Do you think he can do it?"

"Who knows...." A haunting crackle escaped Sultan’s lips when moving yet another chess piece. "Development and growth is impossible without growth. Likewise, one must choose when their failures are most favorable to them."

It would be a lie to say that the Sultan wasn’t expecting some sort of success.

Lowering his gaze and taking a sip of blood, Sultan wasn’t overly concerned with whether Levon could break out or not.

"I can’t explain it, nor do I know what is going on... However, I sense something within the boy is holding him back."

"Something?" Gaara scratched his head. "How come I didn’t sense a thing?"

Sultan gave Gaara a nonchalant side eye stare.

How can he and him be the same?

Sultan licked his blood stained lips, a few thoughts swimming in his mind.

...

Looking at the darkness, Levon’s thoughts spun deeply.

But as they say: Just as you are staring at the abyss, the Abyss is also staring you right back in the face.

"What’s the matter Kid, afraid of the dark?"

Suddenly, a voice bellowed from the darkness.

Its voice was rustic and coarse, embedded with a bone-chilling tone that sent shivers down his vertebra.

Levon only paused in his steps for a split second, before strolling in.

’The doors are open, yet it doesn’t come out.’ Inwardly observed. ’Its either trapped in another layer of imprisonment, or is overly cocky with its strength.’

Either way, this was his body; and Levon knew he was the True master, in control of this realm.

He also didn’t think it had anything to do with Ghouls and vampires.

... Or else wouldn’t he have long turned into one the moment the prison gates flung open?

The possibilities of what could happen were endless. But could it beat the current predicament he faced, now trapped in the belly of that slumbering toad?

Stepping into the darkness, he felt he had awakened a lion from its slumber.

Its crescent eyes pierced through the darkness, as did it’s unfathomable pressure that released waves of power, pushing him back.

For a moment, Levon almost felt his vision darken. But so what?

Heh.

Levon planted another step forward, his expression stoic and unwavering.

"Cut the crap; You’re in my body—MINE."

No matter how powerful the enemy was, this was his body, and he wouldn’t allow any bloody person, object or creature to live rent-free in his body while threatening him too.

You must be insane to think he will let anything be the BOSS of his own body.

Fufufufufu~

A slithering laughter bellowed from the darkness.

"Your body?" The voice spoke teasingly, with imposing authority. There was a hint of obvious disdain laced in his tone. "So what if it’s your body? If you think your little rant will have any effect on me, then I must tell you that your puny brain has malfunctioned."

Listening to the darkly sardonic voice, Levon soon saw a glimmer of its true appearance.

Well, Levon was now taken aback by its appearance just now.

Before him, stood a towering and fiercely endowed Feline. That’s right... a Feline!

Its ears resembled that of foxes, but its fur and outer appearance was that of a cat.

Perhaps because of the dim dark crimson hue reflecting from the walls, he couldn’t make out its true color.

But it shouldn’t be red in color, or else it would blend in perfectly with its surroundings, camouflaging at every turn.

He felt it should be a black cat.... A black cat with a fox’s ears.

The giant cat has over 20 strange golden chains wrapped around its gigantic body.

Compared to the feline, Levon’s size was that of an ant standing before a tarantula.

Looking up, anyone would feel their feet betray them. But Levon kept his hands in his pockets, locking gazes with the mighty Feline.

"I figured it out." A slow smile creeped on his lips. "No matter how you act, you need me. If I’m not mistaken, you are My shard, right?"

Bahahahahahahah~

The Feline laughed bemused. "It’s good you’re not too stupid. I indeed need you, since your body is most suitable for my existence... Now then, how about we talk a little more on where the hell you’ve trapped us in?"

The belly of a toad...

Huh.

The Feline narrowed his eyes dangerously.

"Human, let’s get a few things straight."

Oh? Now it wants to talk?

There’s no doubt it’s getting restless.

’If I’m right, it needs me, my body, for survival. And now that we are both facing peril within the belly of the toad, it makes sense that it has grown anxious.’

Perhaps it would have never revealed itself if he, Levon, wasn’t facing true peril.

How interesting....

Despite the goosebumps on his body, Levon’s lips curled, revealing a cruel smile.

"There’s no doubt you are my shard. But something doesn’t quite add up... Tell me, for how long have you been imprisoned in my body?"

The Feline slowly approached Levon, but came to a halt when the restraints wore him down.

Despite the chains, it wore a broad unnatural grin that spoke volumes.

"What a dumb thing to ask—I’ve always been in you, slumbering. But only when a fragment of my misplaced piece awakened, did I open my eyes too.

Levon remained silent, the air around them growing tense.

"Human, you’re too weak and too insignificant to be lied to by me. You may call me Yaeger... For that is one of the only few things I recall about myself."

"So..." Levon began. "The shard I assimilated was but a fragment of you. How did you get in then?"

"Who knows... I have always been with you. But enough chit-chat. WE will die if nothing is done."

Its restlessness was evident. Who could blame it, the floors began to quake, showing his true body was already in danger.

On his own, Levon felt it would be extremely hard to break out. However, the fact that his shard—Yaeger, drew him into his open body in this way, meant it must have a WAY OUT.
