Lillian ran after the two, who had strayed farther down the corridor in their fight. As she was running, she couldn't help but note how the corridor wasn't in the least bit damaged from their fight.

She had just regained her vision from the sudden blackout and immediately ran after them with worry in her heart. There was no way that Marionette would actually... Kill her, right?

And where were these teachers while this was happening!? Could it be they were having a meeting or something? Possibly to discuss the fact that tomorrow was the day the tournament was happening?

She glanced down at her necklace. She couldn't help but glare at it for every little misfortune that may occur to her.

Although she wasn't the victim, she was still going to be affected by this!

Marionette and Beatrice battled through the Academy corridors, even passing through ones that were crowded with students, who still lingered around after Academy hours.

Fortunately for both of them, or for Beatrice in this case, Marionette was too focused on the Student President to acknowledge the presence of others in her vicinity.

After reaching another empty corridor, the two slowed down as they stood a few metres away from each other.

While Marionette was the least bit tired, Beatrice's breathing had a hint of raggedness. She gave a low chuckle and asked:

"With the way you are moving, it's almost as though you are trying to kill me..."

Marionette gave her a blank and stoic expression. She raised her hand and gestured towards the woman. With a cold but also arrogant tone, she answered.

"If I wanted you dead... You wouldn't be alive 50 steps ago..."

"Oh? I suppose so..." Having fixed her breathing, Beatrice straightened her back. She pulled off her blazer, causing it to disappear. She tore off her tire as well and unbuttoned the top button of her white shirt.

"Enough running around, shall we? Hand-to-hand combat."

Marionette narrowed her eyes before snorting mockingly. "No running around...? Hand-to-hand combat...? Illogical and foolish decision, but very well..." She raised her wrists, fixing the sleeves of her blazer.

"If you wish to taste the ground much sooner, let's..."

The two then began moving their legs forward...

Step.

... Approaching each other in a steady manner... frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

Step. Step.

And once they reached the metre gap, they shot their fist out at each other's faces.

Beatrice, still flickering with electricity, narrowly dodged a swift strike from Marionette before shooting back with another swing of her own.

The Assassin raised a palm, catching the punch before finding it crumble and dissipate into electricity. The current then travelled into her hand, causing it to twitch uncomfortably and sting.

With a snort, she forced back the control of her hand and shaped it into a fist, delivering a counterattack that tore through Beatrice's head, which turned into electricity.

Her face twitched at her brief loss of control in her hand again before feeling something slam against the centre of her stomach.

BAM!

Beatrice, leaping back and reforming her head, watched as Marionette slowly lowered her hand. She watched as the Assassin patted her stomach without a sign of discomfort on her face.

The Student President tilted her head, "You don't dodge, huh?"

Marionette, moving her attention away from her stomach, turned towards the woman and said:

"Dodge? Dodge from whom? You're just a mere electric eel that is more slippery than most. Why should I dodge from a prey that can barely affect me with her attacks?"

Beatrice smiled wryly, "Is that so? Such confidence." She then glanced at her surroundings. She couldn't help but feel how restricted she was in this corridor.

If she were to even crack something, she would be punished. Fortunately, she wouldn't be fined for the cost of getting in, which covers that, but even so, she would've preferred a much freer arena.

Marionette stared at her as though she had spoken something unbelievable. She then shook her head, feeling her head clear up a bit.

However, even though she wasn't filled with whatever she had been feeling earlier, she wasn't going to let what Beatrice had done to Lillian slide.

"Now, then... Prepare yourself." She rolled her shoulders as she began walking towards her unhurriedly, "Laying hands on my belongings is an unforgiveable act. Especially when doing something so indecent to them."

Beatrice smirked as she walked back, intending to create some more space, "Something? Indecent? What are you talking about?" Her smirk became teasing, "I never done anything to Lillian, you know~."

Marionette then froze mid-step. She stared at the woman silently as her eyes glowed an even deeper red, "Lying will get you nowhere but 6ft under the ground... Student Council President..."

Under the effects of her ability, Beatrice watched as Marionette dashed towards her at a rapid speed. Her body flickered and bent down, dashing at her as well.

BAM!

Marionette's fist clashed against a yellow gauntlet made of pure electricity. She snorted, feeling her hand twitch at the shock before pulling her hand back.

She threw another punch—

BAM!

—Meeting another shocking gauntlet...

While Marionette's strengths were far above what Beatrice could achieve, the blonde-haired woman was undoubtedly faster as electricity coursed through her body.

Unlike someone like the Reph, whose element was no doubt faster than something like electricity, she had built her way of fighting around speed rather than completely beating someone instantly with destructive force.

And because of this, she was able to contend with Marionette in terms of speed, allowing her to dodge narrowly and instantly deal back counterattacks.

Such was the experience she had accumulated over her time at the Academy.

BAM! ZAP!

But even with her speedy advantage, she wasn't doing much in terms of actually affecting Marionette, who had endured her blows without fail.

Marionette, having endured another blow, reached out a hand towards one of Beatrice's gauntlets. Gripping it, she cracked and shattered it, causing it to dissipate into the air.

However, this caused her hand to twitch uncontrollably again from the shock and led the current to travel around her body.

Beatrice watched as Marionette regained control of her body in the blink of an eye without any trouble.

Any normal person would black out from the countless shocks that had occurred on Marionette's body, but she still remained standing. This left Beatrice both impressed and wanting more.

However—

SWISH! SHATTER...!

—In the corner of their eyes, they watched as the glass pane window beside them shattered as something flew between them.

"You guys are idiots, I swear!"
