Chapter 133: Chapter 133: A ghost!

"Stay at my house?! Are you insane?! My parents are arriving soon, and you want them to see you? Nuts!" Sanya’s reaction was as dramatic as always.

"I think it’s a good idea. Let’s go!" Shentu Mingye grabbed Sanya and pulled her away.

"Hey! Don’t touch me!"

"I’m your boss. Haven’t you forgotten?!"

"Boss my ass!"

Qin Zhuzhu could hear them arguing in the distance and shook her head. She sighed and went back to wash up and get some sleep.

The next morning, Qin Zhuzhu woke up to a new day. A new day meant a new beginning. Out of habit, she caressed the phoenix ring before starting her daily routine.

Then she quickly got ready for the final test. She had to get admitted into the fashion company!

"You’re right. Life goes on," Qin Zhuzhu said, looking at the ring and then at herself in the mirror.

In her dreams last night, she had heard a man’s voice whispering in her ear. Raindrops pelted the window outside, and puddles of water collected near the staircase.

A soft, cold breeze swirled around her feet. The clouds darkened above, and a figure inched closer to her bed.

"Life goes on. Don’t be too sad. Just miss me and remember my goodness," the man said, patting her head.

The man in her dreams looked similar to Shentu Jing, but somehow, she couldn’t see his face clearly. It was as if a layer of frost blurred his features.

The third round was coming up, and she didn’t have much time. Not only that, she had to face off against Bai Qianhua, who was sure to play underhanded tricks.

"I’ll show the world that I can do it!" Qin Zhuzhu encouraged herself before setting off. She drove to the venue.

Qin Zhuzhu arrived at a different hotel. The venue for the third round had changed because they had a very special, important guest.

Each candidate was assigned their own assistant. Mei Hong was Qin Zhuzhu’s new assistant. She ran over and greeted her politely.

"No need to be so formal. We’ll be working together in the future," Qin Zhuzhu said with a smile.

"Sure! Miss Qin, this way!" Mei Hong led her to the side where all the candidates were preparing.

For the third round, all candidates had to design a dress and have a model wear it. The model would then parade on stage in the dress. If the judges and the special guest were impressed, that candidate would be selected.

Bai Qianhua had managed to secure the top model in Shengjing, Ji Juying, to wear her designs.

Other candidates were green with envy when they saw how friendly Bai Qianhua was with Ji Juying.

"She’ll definitely win for sure!"

"Anything Ji Juying wears will look amazing!"

"Alright! Candidate number one is up!" the manager called.

All candidates took turns showcasing their dresses and designs on stage, including Qin Zhuzhu, whose Phoenix Coronet Dipped in Wine had become popular online.

Next, it was Bai Qianhua’s turn. The judges seemed pleased with her design. Bai Qianhua had created a new dress for the third round.

"Not bad. Very creative," one judge said.

"I like how she made the skirt swirl around the legs. Very trendy for young customers," another judge added.

Bai Qianhua beamed with pride as everyone praised her. She was sure she would win!

Li Shao looked over the crowd and saw Qin Zhuzhu walking around, looking worried. What’s going on this time? fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

From above, overlooking the hall of the hotel, was a balcony with curtains. Long, slender fingers slowly drew the curtains back, revealing a figure watching the scene with complicated emotions.

At Skyward Peak Residence:

"My poor boss is gone! My poor boss is gone!" Han Juexian mourned loudly.

He was kneeling in front of a photo of Shentu Jing, bawling his eyes out.

Luo Yue lay on the couch, earplugs in his ears and a book covering his face. His suit was crumpled. He had been temporarily dismissed by the new CEO, Shentu Chu.

The new CEO had replaced all the old staff with his own people. Of course, he wouldn’t want someone like Luo Yue, who had worked for the previous CEO.

Ding Yu was sniffling beside Han Juexian on the floor.

"Brother Han, if you keep crying, I’ll be sad too! How can I enjoy my candy like this?" His big eyes were watery as he rubbed his red nose.

"Go enjoy it in your next life!" Han Juexian replied, blowing his nose into a handkerchief.

CLICK!

There was a sound. The front door unlocked, and the sound of steady footsteps echoed across the floorboards, making their heartbeats quicken.

"Who’s that?" Ding Yu shivered, rubbing his arms as he looked toward the hallway.

"I don’t know. Why don’t you take a look?" Han Juexian pushed him forward.

"I’m younger than you. You’re supposed to protect me. Brother Han, didn’t you lock the door?"

"I did. It’s password-locked," Han Juexian replied.

Han Juexian and Ding Yu exchanged glances. The footsteps grew closer, and a pair of shiny shoes came into view.

"Ah! Ghost!" they screamed, scrambling to their feet.

Unfortunately, Luo Yue didn’t hear anything. When he removed the book and earplugs, he found Han Juexian and Ding Yu gone.

He looked around. The photo of Shentu Jing was still on the coffee table. The house was quiet again, and the coffee on the table was left untouched.

"Thank goodness they left!" Luo Yue sighed and threw himself back onto the couch.

Not long ago, a car had pulled up to the hotel where the competition was being held.

The special guest entered through a quieter entrance. One of the hotel staff led the guest to the VIP room with a balcony.

Once inside the room, the watch on his wrist beeped.

"Miss Bai bribed all the models and assistants. No one wants to help her. If she doesn’t come out in time with a model wearing her dress, it will be considered a failure."

"Hmm... Help her."

"But my hands are full!"

"Why do you have so much rubbish?" the man wearing a black mask adorned with silver dragon and phoenix decorations said coldly.
