Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 188: Runaway With Spencer
Chapter 188: Chapter 188: Runaway With Spencer
Spencer’s face fell a little. "I have to go... but don’t worry. Tomorrow, we’ll start planning our escape!"
Aurora nodded fiercely. "I’ll pack snacks."
Spencer grinned and gave her one last squeeze on the hand before running back inside, glancing over his shoulder every few steps to make sure she was still there.
Aurora watched him go, standing proudly in the oversized jacket that dragged on the ground and cradling her Swiss chocolates like the most precious things in the world.
Back in the present—
The escalator dinged, snapping Spencer out of his memories.
He looked down at Aurora, his hand still gently holding hers.
Who would have thought that in the end, it was Aurora who would back out and not Spencer?
Aurora forgot those memories, but he...he survived on those memories.
Every time things became unbearable, he would remember the sweet red-haired girl who would wait outside his villa and make plans with him to run away.
Maybe...if they had run away at that time, their situation might have turned out differently.
However, it didn’t matter.
Now he has found Aurora and he will make sure that she end up with him.
"Hey? What are you thinking?" Aurora snapped her fingers, and Spencer smiled,
"Nothing...just childhood stuff. Anyways, if I get kicked out of my position, you will have to take responsibility for me." Spencer teased.
He expected Aurora to retort, but to his surprise, she fell silent.
Just when he wanted to ask what was wrong, Aurora said to him softly,
"Alright. I will take responsibility for you. I will keep you."
For a moment, Spencer thought he had heard wrong.
He blinked down at Aurora, completely stunned. "You...what?"
Aurora’s cheeks were already turning pink, but she lifted her chin stubbornly, refusing to take it back.
"I said I’ll keep you," she repeated, her voice a little quieter but steady. "So you don’t have to worry."
Spencer’s heart slammed against his chest like it was trying to break free.
For a guy who was usually smooth with his words, he found himself suddenly speechless.
He stared at her, a little dazed, like he couldn’t believe the universe had just handed him something so perfect.
"...You better not take that back," he said finally, his voice low and rough around the edges.
Aurora glanced away, pretending to study the mall map on the wall.
"I don’t go back on my word," she mumbled.
Spencer was still staring at her like she was the most precious thing he’d ever seen.
He suddenly leaned down, close enough that Aurora could feel his breath against her ear.
"Then from today onward," he whispered, "I’m officially yours."
Aurora’s ears burned so badly she could practically feel smoke coming out of them.
She shoved at his chest, trying to push him away, but Spencer just laughed softly, grabbing her hand again before she could escape.
"Don’t run away now," he said teasingly. "You already promised."
"I didn’t promise! I just said—!" Aurora spluttered, but Spencer was already pulling her into a nearby elevator, still grinning like an idiot.
Inside the elevator, it was just the two of them.
The doors closed with a quiet swoosh, trapping them in a small, private space.
Spencer finally let go of her hand, but not because he wanted to.
Instead, he leaned casually against the wall, crossing his arms over his chest, looking way too relaxed for someone who just had his life changed.
Aurora stood stiffly in the corner, arms glued to her sides, trying very hard not to look at him.
It didn’t work.
Her eyes betrayed her, sneaking quick glances at him — at the way his shirt clung to his muscles, at the lazy curve of his smile.
Spencer caught her staring and tilted his head, pretending to look thoughtful.
"You know," he said, voice innocent, "if you like what you see, you can touch."
Aurora nearly choked on her own spit.
"WHO SAID I WAS LOOKING?!" she exploded, pointing an accusing finger at him.
Spencer raised an eyebrow, looking extremely unbothered. "Your eyes did."
Aurora gritted her teeth, before her eyes flashed with evil light and she said,
"Oh? Do you still want to be my canary?"
Spencer froze.
Canary?
What was Aurora talking about?
And then...everything clicked. So she wasn’t saying that she would take responsibility, and she literally meant she would ’keep’ him.
However...
That wasn’t bad either.
Canaries are even more wild. They can do all the shameless things and still pretend to be innocent.
Hence, Spencer nodded his head,
"I want to be. My mom and dad have their own illegitimate child, and each of them is planning to make their own love child as the heir. My position isn’t stable, and maybe I will be kicked out in two days."
Just to not make Aurora suspicious, he said 2 days.
Otherwise, he might have said 2 seconds.
He was dying to be her canary.
The moment he became her canary, he would seduce her every single day, and by the time they graduate from high school, they would become boyfriend and girlfriend.
After graduating from the university, he would propose to her and to prevent her from running away...hehe... he just needed to give all of his things to her.
She would feel pity for him, maybe moved by his sincerity.
Anyways, he was a green tea b*tch from nature, he would latch onto Aurora and make sure no one could slid into her pants other than him.
Unaware of the wild thoughts running in Spencer’s mind, Aurora felt a bit of heartache.
She heard something Spencer didn’t say.
His parents had their own love child, while he...he was the obligation. It meant he never received his parents’ love.
And yet he loved her...with his whole heart.
Though he was arrogant, once he became her canary, she would ask him to behave.
Not to mention, the thought of keeping a canary excited her.
Taking a deep breath, she said,
"Let’s go, I will buy you everything you want."
Spencer handed the black card to Aurora with a completely straight face, but inside, he was grinning like a lunatic.
Aurora frowned, eyeing the card as if it were some kind of dangerous artifact.
"You want me to use it?" she asked, her voice skeptical.
Spencer nodded solemnly. "Yes. Buy whatever you want. No need to feel guilty. It’s not like I’ll have access to it after two days anyway."
That was a lie.
Spencer had access to more wealth than half the country’s elite combined. This black card? It was pocket change
The black card was given to him by his father, who felt guilty for ruining his childhood.
He felt the black card was filthy and never used it.
But now...his mind was filled with only one thought...
Let Aurora have her fun.
Aurora studied him, trying to gauge his sincerity. A part of her hesitated—taking money from Spencer felt weird.
But then she remembered the pitiful expression he had when talking about his so-called family.
His parents favored their illegitimate kids over him. They might take everything from him.
And she had just agreed to keep him.
Her lips pressed together in thought before she finally exhaled and snatched the card from his hand.
"Fine," she said, stuffing it into her pocket. "But don’t regret it later when I max it out."
Spencer barely held back a victorious smirk.
The elevator doors slid open, revealing the luxurious shopping floor of the mall.
The floor-to-ceiling glass storefronts gleamed under bright lights, each store promising exclusive, high-end fashion.
Spencer stepped out first, but instead of letting Aurora walk beside him, he smoothly laced his fingers through hers.
Aurora stiffened. "What are you doing now?"
"You said you’re keeping me," Spencer said matter-of-factly. "Owners hold their canaries, don’t they?"
Aurora narrowed her eyes, but she didn’t pull away.
Not because she wanted to hold his hand.
No.
It was just too much effort to fight him when she had shopping to do.
At least, that’s what she told herself.
The boutique was one of those ultra-exclusive stores where there weren’t any price tags—because if you had to ask, you couldn’t afford it.
A woman in an elegant black dress greeted them at the door.
"Mr. Spencer, welcome back," she said with a warm smile before her eyes flickered toward Aurora with mild curiosity. "And your... guest?"
Spencer grinned, tightening his grip on Aurora’s hand just slightly.
"My keeper," he said smoothly.
Aurora coughed. "I am not—!"
"She’s picking out a dress today," Spencer continued, completely ignoring her protest. Then his eyes fell on a red designer dress with an intricate pattern.
It would look great on Aurora.
"Pack up that," Spencer said to the saleswoman, who nodded, hearing his words.
"No need!" Aurora tugged on Spencer’s sleeves.
She had seen the price from afar. It was worth $50,000! Crazy!
Even a millionaire like her couldn’t bear to spend so much money.
"Exactly, no need, brother. I am buying it!" A smug voice interrupted their conversation.
