"This is..." Selene blushed, embarrassed by the position she was placed in.

"It’s fine," Xavier assured her. "It’s no different from the others."

Selene still felt embarrassed, but she didn’t make any attempt to switch their position.

Xavier seemed to be hellbent on making use of the side of the bed as he had stood up, holding her in his arms to then place her back on the bed with her back to him.

His hand on her back guided her to keep her upper body down before placing his hands on her waist, pulling her back to him as he slowly entered her.

Her fingers gripped the blanket beneath her as her body moved without second thoughts to have him enter her sooner.

All Selene could think of was Xavier. His name, his touch, and her love for him.

Selene had never felt so loved before.

He filled her mind even more when he started to move, his body colliding with her own. The sound of their bodies colliding with each other and the smell of sex filled the room, soon followed by their voices.

Unlike the other times, Selene didn’t bother to hold her voice back since there were magic stones so no one would overhear them. It was becoming harder to keep her voice low, so doing it was out the window.

Xavier smiled. Selene was becoming more relaxed and less worried about being heard in their own home. He was tempted to do anything and everything to have her voice fill the room. To test what point she would go back to trying to bite her lip.

The moment she went back to the old habit, he would push the limit to have her cry out his name again.

Xavier kept his right hand on her waist to bring her body to his. At the same time, he plunged forward, entering her. He didn’t need to do much work since Selene had followed him, moving her body by herself.

While seeing the shape of her body enticed him, Xavier felt like she was too far away.

Xavier stopped for a moment and leaned forward to bring Selene up to him while his length was still inside of her.

His left hand held her chin, turning her face to the right for him to kiss her. His right hand covered her breast, weighing and enjoying the feel of her soft flesh. Xavier’s right hand moved in a circular motion, his thumb toying with her hardened bud.

Selene reached her hand to the back of Xavier’s neck, pulling him down at a better angle for her to keep kissing him.

His name was muffled by the kiss as he started to move. The hand on her chin moved to go around her waist.

Xavier was the pillar which kept them both from falling.

Selene grabbed a handful of her hair, letting out some of the emotions she felt.

Her mind was going blank, her toes curling from the bliss she felt. There was a fluttery sensation building up in her chest. Perhaps it was the butterflies others often spoke of when they loved someone.

Xavier’s warm breath on her ear, his strong hold on her waist, and the sweet sound of her name leaving his lips were all she needed in the moment.

For the few hours they had before the estate would become busy, all Selene wanted was to be held by her husband, and Xavier was determined to do so.

Away from the estate, Gabriel still laid on the floor as the pain from where he had been stabbed did not go away.

No one came to check on him, most likely because no one was aware of what happened in his home. Gabriel wanted to keep it that way since the town shouldn’t know what he had brought to it.

Gabriel grew upset as he thought of how he had laid with the enemy. He laid with a woman who wanted to kill him and all his peers. He had been searching for the person behind the attacks when one of them was right beside him all along.

If the town found out, it wouldn’t view him as the hero anymore. Everything he worked so hard to get would be taken away from him in the blink of an eye.

Darius would quickly turn his back on him. Gabriel didn’t trust the king would believe him, and this would have the purebloods dislike him even more.

Gabriel covered his face with his hand. He felt like crying.

How had his world become like this?

When did everything go wrong?

"Selene," Gabriel said, her face filling his mind.

She wouldn’t have done this to him. Everything went wrong the moment Selene walked away from him.

There was still some anger lingering from the assumption that Selene was the one who killed his mother, but now, Gabriel wondered if that was a set-up. Selene had been kind to his mother, only misbehaving after he had brought home Cassandra.

He started to doubt that Selene had it in her heart to kill his mother since she knew what it was like to lose a parent. Gabriel was willing to bet Xavier was the one who had something to do with it so Selene couldn’t be blamed.

"I need you," Gabriel said, wanting to get up to go to Selene.

If Selene’s claims of once loving him were true, Selene should still have some love left in her heart to find a way to heal him. Xavier should have some way of helping anyone in this position.

Gabriel groaned as he sat up. Where Cassandra cut him was taking long to heal, and taking a guess, he assumed he was having trouble healing because of the holy weapon.

"I can make it," Gabriel muttered, pulling together what little strength he had to get up.

His only hope would be to go to Selene. He would apologise for what he did wrong and try to fix the past.

"You fool," Gabriel scolded himself.

Why did he have to end up in this position to realise what he had lost?

There would never be another woman like Selene.

For the time Cassandra had been at his side, she refused to care for his home as Selene did. Selene played her role as his wife well and only asked that he protect her from her family.

With Selene at his side, Gabriel still had the purebloods interest in him. He meant something when he was married to Selene, so Gabriel sought to get back what once was his.

Gabriel managed to get off the floor. His body was weak, but he could make it to the estate.

Gabriel headed downstairs and was shocked by the deaths of the servants who had been alive hours ago. The vampires and even the humans he agreed to let Cassandrwa have to serve her were all dead.

"How?" Gabriel wondered, trying to understand how the intruders had made it so far.

It was going to be hard to hide all these deaths. Before the king or town guards learned about this, Gabriel needed to find Cassandra and the men she left with.

First, he needed to go to Selene to share his plans.
