Betrayed by Fiance, Embraced by Hidden Tycoon-Chapter 246: Seal The Deal
Chapter 246: Seal The Deal
After a few hours immersed in her work, Abigail was interrupted by a knock on the door. Curious, she turned to look at the door and saw Milan standing there.
"Yes, Milan, come in," Abigail said.
Milan walked in, her expression tense as she approached Abigail’s desk.
Abigail noticed her demeanor and asked, "What’s wrong, Milan?"
"Boss, Vincent just called and said that Mr. Andy Bennet is on his way to this floor," Milan reported, excitement in her voice.
"Oh, I see. So, he has already arrived," Abigail replied.
"Yes, boss. He came with his secretary, and they are now in the elevator," Milan explained.
"Alright, thank you, Milan. You can return to your work now," Abigail said, signaling Milan to leave. She quickly focused on finishing her pending tasks before Andy and Amelia arrived.
Not long after, another knock on the door was heard. When Abigail opened it, she was surprised to see a man standing behind Andy.
’Sawyer? Why did he come to this floor?’ Abigail wondered, a smile spreading across her face. Earlier, she had asked him to follow her to her office, but he had refused, saying he wanted to wait on the fifth floor.
"Hey Andy, Amelia, come in..." Abigail let Andy and Amelia walk in first, then waited for Sawyer and walked with him to the seating area.
After letting Andy and his secretary sit across from them, she turned to see Sawyer beside her. She leaned closer and whispered, "Husband, why did you suddenly come here?"
Sawyer’s lips swelled with an affectionate smile. "My little wife, did you forget I work as your Chief Financial Officer?" He whispers.
Her adorable gasp made him want to kiss her, but he held back his urge, sensing two pairs of eyes watching them intently. Instead, he could only squeeze her hand gently before shifting his gaze to Andy.
"Can you give me the project contract you’re offering my wife’s company?" Sawyer asked calmly, but Andy was surprised to hear that.
Andy narrowed his eyes at Sawyer. He was already confused when this man suddenly insisted on joining their meeting. Initially, he thought Sawyer was jealous because he would see his wife again. Still, he soon discovered that Sawyer had helped Abigail build her company and had actually invested in Camellia Modern Design.
"Amelia, please hand Mr. Jones a contract copy," Andy instructed.
After briefly letting Sawyer read the contract, Andy finally asked, "Why not return to Silverstone Group? The company needs you. We could soar higher and faster if you returned!"
It was difficult for Andy to believe that this man would help a startup company instead of returning to manage his business empire. He had always invited him to come back, but Sawyer consistently declined.
Not only was Andy curious, but Abigail and Amelia were as well. Now, all eyes were fixed on Sawyer. They were all waiting for his response.
Sawyer frowned at Andy Bennet for a moment before a small laugh escaped his lips.
"Why do you ask, Andy? Of course, the reason is that I’m going to help my wife develop her business. Haven’t you ever heard the saying: ’If the wife is happy, the marriage will last?’" Sawyer chuckled at their reactions.
Abigail couldn’t help but laugh at his words while Amelia stifled her laughter. She was amazed that this hidden tycoon could make such a playful comment. Andy, however, almost choked.
"Man, can you give me a serious answer?" Andy sighed before continuing, "I’ve always asked you to return to the company, but you’ve repeatedly said you weren’t interested in business anymore. But look at you now; you’re the CFO of Camellia Modern Design?"
"Damn, Andy! Did you forget that this company means a lot to me? This is my wife’s company, not anyone else’s. Naturally, I want to help her grow it. As for Silverstone Group? That company is just too big; I can’t imagine being busy there. That’s why I hired professionals like you to take care of it for me..."
When Sawyer explained his reason, Abigail felt her heart swell. Moved by his words, she said nothing but continued to hear him talk with Andy.
"You clearly know my primary reason, Andy. I don’t want my family to know about my real identity..." Sawyer continued. He didn’t want them to know he owned Silverstone Group. He wouldn’t have peace if they found out, especially his brother.
Andy Bennet nodded, hearing Sawyer’s words. He knew well that Sawyer didn’t want to go head-to-head with J Group, his family business.
"Alright, stop talking about me. Let’s discuss your business offer to Camellia Modern Design..." Sawyer’s tone shifted to become more tense, prompting Andy to stop asking questions and begin discussing the business.
They discussed the project and made several adjustments to the contract for a few more hours before finally ending the meeting after Sawyer allowed Abigail to sign the agreement.
"Mrs. Jones, it was an honor working with your company," Andy said, reaching out to shake her hand after they both signed the new cooperation contract.
"Thank you, Mr. Bennet. I will do my best for Silverstone Group! And thank you for this opportunity," Abigail replied, accepting his outstretched hand.
Just then, Sawyer grabbed her hand and smiled. Seeing her surprised expression, he hurriedly explained, "My wife, we need to go to lunch. It’s past lunchtime..." he insisted.
Abigail didn’t respond verbally but nodded; she was hungry now and needed to eat something.
"Sawyer, let—"
"Andy, you don’t have to join us. I know you’re busy with a lot of work at the office. Right?" Sawyer said just as Andy was about to ask for lunch with them. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
Andy laughed, rising from his seat. "Yeah, I’m swamped handling a huge company like Silverstone Group. Come on, Amelia. We must work hard, or the big boss will scold us." He walked to the door, waving his hand to Abigail.
"Yes, sir..." Amelia giggled as well. She excused herself to Abigail and Sawyer before following her boss to the door.
