"She has thrown you away, Eagle King" Alice’s words rang inside the room as well as inside Kyrell’s ears. It was like he was hearing something he shouldn’t. Even though he knew that was a lie...Yes, it was a lie. His Lyra would never abandon him, "What nonsense are you spewing right now? There are lines that you shouldn’t cross, Female"

Alice sighed sadly, "My king, Oh my poor king. What has happened to you? Are you so bewitched by that female that you don’t see the truth?"

"Truth?" asked Kyrell, "When have you ever spoken the truth in front of me, Alice? Because the only things I remember you doing are lying to me and trapping me in uncomfortable situations. And first of all, why the fuck are you here in my tribe anyway?" he had enough of this supposed talk with this annoying female, "Where is my aide? Nathan!?"

As soon as his voice reached the room, many guards patrolling the inner palace rushed toward the king’s quarters. Alice furrowed her brows not at all liking the power Kyrell had over the eagle tribe. It was quite worrisome yes but, their loyalty to Kyrell had its benefits. Alice spun a false tale about her becoming their queen and most of the idiots believed it. More than believing her, the tribesmen have come to hate Lyra, and that prompted them to replace the former with someone else. And that someone else was Alice herself. The tribesmen as well as elders preferred Alice over Lyra.

It took only a few minutes before the said guards came and lined up before Kyrell, "Your majesty"

"Where is Nate?" Kyrell asked without wasting any time. He wanted to meet his aide as soon as possible and ask about everything he had missed during his slumber.

Instead of answering, the guards fidgeted in their places before glancing at Alice. They had received few instructions from their future queen and one of the main ones amongst them was hiding Nate from the King.

Kyrell gnashed his teeth in anger, "What is so wrong with your mouths that you can not speak!? Or should I make you?"

The guards flinched in their places before kneeling on the ground, "Your majesty, we have not seen the aide for a few days now. He went out and never returned"

’Good’ Alice thought. They were speaking just as she had instructed. For her own safety, Alice didn’t want to talk about Nate. If she said something wrong, then it would be over for her. Kyrell was too sharp in catching her schemes. So the best thing she could do was stay silent and talk only when necessary.

"Nate is not inside the tribe?" Kyrell murmured to himself. It was unlike Nate to do this. The latter would never leave Kyrell when he is the most vulnerable or he might have had more important work. Kyrell could only guess, "Inform me as soon as he returns"

"Yes, Your Majesty" the guards replied only to hear more orders from their king, "And as for this female, don’t let her inside my chambers again"

Alice’s face darkened as Kyrell continued, "I don’t like females other than my mate coming here" he looked straight at her and added, "Think this as a last warning or whatever because next time, I will personally throw anyone who steps inside this room without my permission over the balcony" he smirked as his red eyes glowed, "It’s not like you have wings, Alice. I would be careful if I were you"

Alice clenched her fists. She wanted to bury his smirking face inside the ground and put mud over it. How dare he insult her!? And that too in front of these guards? She wanted to do something to get back at him and she did just that, "I’m always careful, Your Majesty but right now, I think it is you who should be careful"

"Me?"

"Yes, Your Majesty. Please be careful when you go to meet that female. Her mates might not welcome you with open arms after all that has happened between you"

Kyrell knew that. Blake, Victor, Demir, Killian.....they would never forgive him for failing to protect their mate. Every wound and beating they inflicted on him was what he deserved. He would have done the same if he was in their position. In accordance with the Beast’s law, his incapability equaled never going near Lyra. She had not been safe with him after all.

However, Kyrell had a small hope. A hope named Lyra.....his beloved. She would never push him away for this alone. Instead, she would be worried about him getting attacked by her mates. That was how she was. And Kyrell believed her. His Lyra will never push him away no matter the circumstance. So he must go to her and that was what he did when he strode toward the balcony before soaring up in the sky in his beast form.

Alice looked in shock watching Kyrell’s figure disappear. She couldn’t believe it. Even after all she tried, he went out while ignoring her. Like her words meant nothing to him. This kind of humiliation overwhelmed her a female who had grown sheltered and her needs catered by everyone around her. Her face flushed in shame when she took a glance at the guards in the room. They looked utterly confused as well as urged each other to send her out of Kyrell’s room. They were following the King’s orders.

"Lady....."

Without giving them a chance to speak, Alice rushed out of that place. Her chest heaved urgently as she tried to suppress her growing anger while she made her way to the guest quarter. She had been residing in the queen’s quarter until now but not anymore. She didn’t want to get disgraced once again by Kyrell for staying in the Queen’s quarters.

That bastard and the bitch...would suffer a fate worse than death. Alice would make sure of that. She had heard of that tramp having a banquet tonight. That made Alice smirk. Today she decided to give that female a gift that would haunt her forever. This enmity between Eagle and all the other tribes will continue to grow. More importantly, the feud between the Lion and Eagle tribes would reach its peak tonight.
