Ashes of a Fallen Legacy-Chapter 48: Magic Formula’s [2]
Chapter 48 - Magic Formula's [2]
Zane layed down on his bed, holding the magic formula in his hand. The magic formula had an ice symbol in it, indicating that, the spell inside the book was of the ice affinity.
Meanwhile, Velrath was beside him, looking towards the magic formula he was holding.
"I see. So, while I was gone you met one of your buddies, and asked you on a duel?"
Zane nodded, and said:
"Yup, that's right, and he is really strong. So I am not that confident this time, honestly."
Velrath sighed and said:
"Zane, why the hell are you always in this kind of situation?"
"Honestly, I don't even know. But, since it already happened, I don't have any other choice but to go through with it."
Velrath stared at him strangely for a moment, he then said:
"Ah, whatever. Let's just get it done."
Zane had decided to cast aside the Dreadwood Forest issue, and focused more on the duel, which will be held next week.
I mean, the Dreadwood Forest issue is definitely a very important issue. But, it's not like they can do anything for now. The only thing they can do is hope that Zane's footprint was erased by Velrath's destructive spells.
...
It was currently night time already, and Zane had spent most of his time explaining all the things that had happened to him earlier to Velrath.
Like how he met his older sister, his father, and his mother.
And right now, they were finally going to begin with their lesson.
The spell he was going to learn was an advance ice affinity spell, called: Blizzard Wrath.
It's a spell that creates a powerful snowstorm that chills and damages enemies over time. It's definitely a powerful spell, however, the only downside is that it consumes a lot of mana.
But, that isn't a problem with Zane anymore. With his current mana capacity, he could probably activate this spell for hours.
'But, where the hell am I supposed to try this out?'
It was currently night time, and he didn't want to go out because he was already tired and exhausted from all the stuffs that had happened earlier.
If he tried the spell in his room, it could possibly damage the room, which is what he doesn't want to happen.
'Maybe I'll try out the other one?'
Zane took out the other book on the table, with a lightning symbol in it. There was a name inbedded in the front page of the magic formula.
"Godspeed?"
After reading the name embedded on the magic formula, he opened it to look at the process of the spell.
"I'm still gonna need a large space to try this spell out."
He paused, he then added.
"This is much more of a hassle than I thought."
After looking through the process of the spell, he sighed and put it back on the table.
The other spells were most likely just the same. Since, these spells were high tier advance spells, it was pretty much expected that it would be more destructive than what he had learned so far.
'What should I do? If only there was a private place I could use to practice without being seen by others.'
Right now, it was too early to show his improvement. It's only been a week after all, and he was planning on taking it slowly for now.
"Zane, why don't you just ask your mother for a private room to practice? Personally, I think she'd agree—seeing her son so desperate to grow stronger would only make her want to support you, wouldn't it?"
Hearing Velrath's suggestion, he thought that it honestly sounded pretty good. It's just that, he had never really asked anything to his mother before, so it never really crossed his mind.
But, I mean. He genuinely needed a private room to train to.
"Hmm, maybe I should."
But, since it was currently night time now, he would have to wait until tomorrow to be able to meet his mother again.
That means he would have to postpone his training for now, and do it another day when he can finally get a personal room to train with.
Zane then rose up, and said:
"Well, since I can only meet mother tomorrow, I guess I'll skip with the magic lessons for now."
Velrath furrowed his brows, he then asked:
"Oh? You'll be doing physical activities again? I thought you were exhausted already?"
Zane turned his head towards Velrath, he then said:
"Well, I am. But, there's still a lot of time. I can rest later."
Zane then proceeded to head to his desk, and opened his drawer. He then took out another book, this one, looking different than magic formula's on his other table.
He then raised his hand, and stared at the book he was holding.
There was a name embedded on the book, called: The Basic of Swordsmanship.
Zane had been interested about swords for a while now, and had actually been studying the book.
He wanted to cover up all the vulnerabilities he had, and one of his vulnerabilities was his weak physical capabilities.
He wanted to change that by learning swordsmanship.
Without wasting another time, he put the book on his desk and headed to the center of the room.
Of course, before he practiced his swordsmanship, he would have to do some stretches first, and some warm up as well. The last time he worked out, without stretching his body first, it didn't end up that well for him.
That's why, he always made sure to do some stretches first before he did any physical activities.
Moments afterwards, he was finally done with his stretches and warm up. He then headed to his desk again and grabbed the book he was holding earlier.

Since he had read it before, he pretty much knew what to do already. But, just to make sure that his stance was right, he carried it with him and used it as a guide.
Although Zane didn't really have a sword with him, he had his magic wand with him.
Since he was still practicing the basics, there was no need to do it with a wooden sword or a real sword.
Zane then proceeded to imitate all the contents on the book.
As time went by, he realised that he definitely didn't have any talent for swordsmanship. But, that didn't matter. His desperation will drive him forward.
Although he kept making mistakes, he also tried his best to learn from those mistakes.
