Chapter 49: Chapter 43 Terrifying Zombies_1
The sun gradually crawled from the east to the west, marking the passage of another day.
In the room, sweat pooled on the floor as a muscular figure stood rigidly on the floorboards.
[Tai Chi 24Style (Practiced to Heart 23%)]
A line of information flashed across the void in front of him, a gleam sparked in Li Ming’s eyes as he took a deep, yet ceaseless breath.
“In two more days, I should be able to break through in Tai Chi.”
Satisfactorily wrapping up his practice, Li Ming went into the bathroom to wipe his sweat, then indulged in the delicious meal prepared by Zhang Yuan.
After dinner, as darkness descended, Zhang Yuan went to rest. Li Ming lounged in the living room for a moment, waiting for Chen Li to knock on the door.
When he got up to open the door, his eyes lit up at the sight of her. Licking his lips.
As expected, she obediently wore the casual pajamas he had seen her in earlier in the day.
Even though the PJs were ordinary, that domestic feeling was wonderful!
Li Ming’s smile made Chen Li slightly embarrassed, but shortly afterward, she found herself being carried to her front door.
“…”
An hour later.
“Right, I’ve talked to my mom, we have packed up the things at home, we’re ready to leave with you whenever you’re ready.”
Chen Li was carried by Li Ming into her own bedroom, where she spoke softly to him.
“Alright, I will head out in a couple of days to look for a truck. You and your family can follow behind in your own car.”
Without definitive acceptance nor rejection, Li Ming nodded at hearing this. He then kissed her before leaving under her gaze.
That Chen Li’s family is willing to leave with him didn’t come as a surprise. In this post-apocalyptic world, sticking together with two more people was always a good thing. Therefore, he didn’t mind.
After leaving Chen Li’s house and locking the door, he returned to his own home. After locking the front door, Li Ming stopped thinking about it. After comfortably completing his mental power training, he drank some water, then went to bed and cuddled up to Zhang Yuan.

The city was desolate, with only a few entertainment districts teeming with life, where diverse zombies flocked together.
Some zombies clearly stood out, towering over their peers as if they stood among chickens. The ordinary zombies obviously revered these special zombies and stood around them with respect.
At some point, all the special zombies turned simultaneously to the east as if sensing something.
In a dark residential building, suddenly, a window shattered. An eye connected to a slender tube horrifyingly appeared in the air, protruding from the top of the building, gazing eastward.
“Boom, boom…”
A suffocating atmosphere emanated from the east was accompanied by heavy rumbling noises.
A horrifying zombie as tall as a five-story building, with a body made of terrifyingly muscular tissue that was hair-raising, stepped forward. Each step left a deep pit in the ground. It advanced towards the city, its pitch-black pupils glaring.
“Boom…”
A car blocking its path was crushed into fragments under its foot. The massive zombie calmly walked over the debris as if it were stepping on a patch of grass.
Behind it were a series of deep footprints.
………
The next day arrived in the blink of an eye. Li Ming practiced Tai Chi at home again, successfully upgrading it to the proficient stage.
[Tai Chi 24-Style (well-versed in 11%)]
“Tomorrow I should be able to break through the 24-forms of Tai Chi. I wonder what changes will occur.”
With anticipation in his heart, Li Ming generously gave Chen Li the night off, so as not to hinder his progress the next day.
Moonset and sunrise, in a blink, it was the next morning.
The sunlight shone brightly.
Li Ming, who rose early, was normally calm and peaceful as he practiced the Eight Pieces of Brocade in his room. In a flash, he practiced it twice.
As he sat on the chair to take a short break, preparing to continue his training, he was interrupted by a sudden tremor.
“Boom, boom…”
The dull vibrations felt like the advancing footsteps of a giant, clearly transmitted from the floor to his entire body.
An inexplicable tightness gripped his heart. He subconsciously looked towards the direction of the vibrations, but all he saw was a wall.

“What’s happening?”
Zhang Yuan, who was doing yoga, was startled by the sudden vibrations. She quickly ran to Li Ming’s side and asked.
“I don’t know… This kind of vibration, it’s strange…”
Li Ming patted Zhang Yuan’s back to comfort her, his eyebrows furrowed as he tried to make sense of the subtle vibrations.
“Ha, ha, ha…”
The roars of the zombies outside suddenly intensified. Zhang Yuan looked anxiously at the cosmetics on the table as the rhythmic vibrations made them bounce on the surface.
“What’s going on…”
Li Ming’s brows were deeply furrowed. A sense of imminent danger rose in his heart, torn between going out to check and staying still, all he could do was suppress his anxiety. He quickly put on his shoes and clothes, wielding his spear and sword, prepared for anything.
Seeing this, Zhang Yuan snapped out of her daze, quickly pulling on pants and white shoes. She put on a light white shirt and sat beside Li Ming, clutching his arm. Her face turned pale with anxiety.
“Boom, boom…”
“Ha, ha, ha…”
Footstep sounds, and the roars of zombies echoed relentlessly around them.
Once, twice…
Li Ming’s heart pounded uncontrollably, like a water pump in overdrive. The terrifying tramping sound grew louder and louder…
With his eyes almost splitting apart, Li Ming was about to give in to his fear and flee when the footsteps suddenly switched direction and gradually receded.
“Boom, boom, boom…”
Step by step, the terrifying sound grew fainter and faded away. Li Ming’s stiffened body relaxed a bit, but his gaze remained fixated in the direction of the retreating steps.
It was a while before he could look away, but he was too restless to sit still.
“No, I have to see what’s going on.”
Li Ming made up his mind that he couldn’t let such a terrifying unknown event occur around him. He stood up from the bed and headed for the door.
“Where are you going?”
Zhang Yuan rose with Li Ming, her face still pale with fear and worry as she watched his sudden movement.
“I’m going up to the roof for a look. If I don’t know what’s going on with all this commotion, I won’t be able to rest easy.”
Li Ming held Zhang Yuan in his arms, kissed her softly on the lips, then let go of the panting woman and quietly replied.
“Then I’ll wait for you at home. Come back quickly.”
Zhang Yuan nodded nervously and urged him.
“Lock the door and don’t open it unless I ask you to.”
Li Ming nodded, then picked up the telescope he’d found earlier from the table, along with his weapons, and headed upstairs.
“Click…”
As soon as Li Ming left, Zhang Yuan hurriedly shut the room door, bolted it from the inside, and went back to Li Ming’s room. She locked the bedroom door from the inside and anxiously sat on the bed, panting for breath.
“Swish, swish, swish…”
With her feet on the stairs, Li Ming sprinted from the fifth floor straight to the seventh and then straight to the roof.
Thankfully the rooftop access was wide open. Li Ming ran quickly to the roof, halting in the stairwell. He took a deep breath and moved slowly towards the wall, scanning around as much as he could.
Only when he was sure he didn’t see any immediate danger did Li Ming cautiously peek his head out, raising his telescope to look in the direction the vibrations had come from.
As his eyes adjusted to the eyepiece, there was some discomfort initially. He blinked a few times, and when he was used to it, he took a closer look in that direction.
Towering buildings, exposed air conditioning units, cars on the street, countless zombies…
And… a gigantic monster!
