Chapter 24: Chapter 23 – Anfeng Internet Cafe_1
The refrigerator is key to keeping food from spoiling, so its condition is of utmost importance. Therefore, Li Ming is currently only supplying power from the generator to the refrigerator and the fan. After all, there isn’t much diesel left so he has to conserve it.
He also remembered the things in the three large freezers in the supermarket…he hadn’t even finished packing up half the stuff in them. It seemed like a waste to just abandon them.
In this kind of weather, if the power outage continues, the stuff in the refrigerator will spoil in a matter of days.
But without giving up, and without power, how could he solve this problem?
“I need to move the generator from the internet cafe. There is a storeroom near the supermarket refrigerator. I can install the noisy generator from the cafe in the storeroom, and supply power to the supermarket’s refrigerator to preserve the food.”
Looking at the generator in front of him, Li Ming remembered where he’d discovered it. The location provided a good sound barrier. As he squinted, deep in thought, another task came to his mind: replenishing weapons from the hardware store.
Now, it seemed, he also had to add diesel oil from the gas station to the list.
“The nearest gas station is three kilometers away, I have to make a trip.”
He racked his brain, the gas station, though far away, was necessary. If he wanted the generator to run, he needed enough diesel. If not, this generator was nothing more than a pile of junk. So, he needed to go.
Also, if he wanted to use the car, he would inevitably need gasoline. It would be better to be safe than sorry.
There were also gas tanks…
Li Ming squinted his eyes in thought and decided not to rush his martial arts practice, stretching his muscles and bones before heading back to his room to sleep.
“Click…”
Zhang Yuan opened the door of her house and walked out with the empty rice bowl. Seeing the running generator in the living room, her eyes lit up. She hadn’t noticed the sound in her room.
She quickly rushed to Li Ming’s house and hearing the sound of the refrigerator, began to laugh excitedly: “Li Ming, you installed the generator!”
With the refrigerator, there was now long-term food storage!
“Yes, I am prioritizing the refrigerator for now. How about it? Is it noisy?”
Li Ming, now lying on his bed, turned his head at the sound of Zhang Yuan’s voice, looking at her beautiful legs under the short skirt and asked with a smile.
“No, I didn’t hear this sound while I was in the room talking to him. This is just great!”
Zhang Yuan opened the refrigerator, feeling the cool air coming from inside, its chill penetrating the collar of her top, making her skin tingle. She couldn’t help but exclaim with surprise and delight in her eyes.
When she delivered food to her husband earlier, she told him about Li Ming bringing back lots of food. But the first thing her husband thought was that they could now borrow more!
She was trying to hint that her husband could also go out and find food, but Peng Zhi didn’t show any sign of willingness to confront the zombie creatures that gave her nightmares.
All he thought about was that Li Ming now had more food, so she should try and borrow more from him. That way, her husband could eat for longer, wait for the rescue to arrive.
And asked her to do more work.
Zhang Yuan listened to his excited babble for a while and felt no urge to respond. She said she was going to help Li Ming and got his strong support. He told her that the more work she did for Li Ming, the more smoothly they could borrow food. He urged her to work hard for Li Ming.
Zhang Yuan didn’t want to hear any more of it. After responding hurriedly, she went to the kitchen to tidy up. Taking the bowl and chopsticks with her, she walked out and astonishingly, saw that the generator was running and the refrigerator was lit.
Any frustration she held inside was instantly cleared and replaced with excitement.
“There will be more and more good things in the future. After I wake up in the afternoon, I’ll make another trip out. When I come back, all will be well.”
Li Ming responded with a smile. Zhang Yuan nodded firmly before turning her head and staring intently at him. There was a hopeful look in her eyes.
Li Ming smiled at her, watching as she swung her hips and lifted up her short skirt, taking the dishes to the kitchen to clean.
Though the water supply had been shut off, thanks to Li Ming’s stored water, there was still water for washing dishes. Not to mention, Li Ming had brought back a tricycle full of bottled water today.
After a while, Zhang Yuan finished cleaning up, wiped her hands, walked to Li Ming’s room, shut the door and climbed into the bed.
Li Ming hadn’t fallen asleep yet and started to laugh at the sight of her.
“Li Ming, would you like it if I move in with you?”
As Zhang Yuan lay in bed, she looked at Li Ming with tender affection and asked.
“Oh, wouldn’t your husband cause a fuss?”
Li Ming was a bit surprised and answered during the gap in their conversation.
“It depends on whether or not you want me. If you want me, I will be with you. First, I will stop serving him dinner, then… I …I will spend more and more time here. I will look for an opportunity to reveal something in front of him. When a conflict arises, I will have a fight with him and then you can conveniently take me in.”
Zhang Yuan looked at Li Ming with hazy eyes.
Playing it like this?
Li Ming thought about Zhang Yuan’s proposal…
A stir in his heart, he leaned down and planted a gentle kiss on her nose. “Since you have openly expressed your heart, how could I not accept it? You’re such a beautiful woman, I don’t even have enough time to cherish you let alone not wanting you.”
Zhang Yuan was all covered in sweat, consuming him with ever-growing desire…
“Heehee…”
A mesmerizing smile broke out on Zhang Yuan’s face, followed by her trembling voice, “Then from now on, I’ll be with you…”

Today’s nap was interrupted for over 40 minutes. After cleaning up a bit, Li Ming held Zhang Yuan in his arms for the first time as they slipped into sleep.
By the time he woke up, it was past one. Zhang Yuan was still sleeping peacefully.
Watching Zhang Yuan’s face so close to his, a smile formed on Li Ming’s face.
Zhang Yuan hadn’t put on any makeup for more than ten days, but her natural face was still charming enough to score a seven. As he looked at the beauty in his arms, Li Ming was certain that his new journey of happiness was about to start.
“Hm, not sleeping anymore?”
Sleepily waking up, Zhang Yuan moved closer to Li Ming’s chest and asked in a soft voice.
“I need to go out and find some stuff. If you’re still sleepy, you can keep sleeping.”
Li Ming patted her butt playfully with a bright smile and got up to get dressed. Hearing this, Zhang Yuan also sat up, quickly got dressed, and hurriedly began helping Li Ming prepare, her skirt swaying about.
“Where are you planning to go this afternoon?”
After tidying up for Li Ming, Zhang Yuan worriedly asked him.
“First to Anfeng Internet Cafe, then to a hardware store. If there’s still time, I’ll make a run to the gas station.”
Li Ming thought about his aim and casually replied. Zhang Yuan nodded quickly, meticulously helped him with his backpack, and reminded him to be careful.
Li Ming waved his hand, picked up his gun and sword, shouldered his backpack, and once again walked out of the door.
Zhang Yuan watched Li Ming as he left intently, then bit her lip, closed the door, and ran to the window to watch Li Ming go. Her husband glanced at her. Thinking she was just enjoying the view, he continued his game.
He had intended to conserve electricity by reading books, but he just couldn’t pull himself away from the game~

Meanwhile, Li Ming, who had smoothly descended from the fifth floor, got to the off-road vehicle downstairs, started it, secured his gun on the rooftop, placed the sword in the driver’s seat, and drove out of the residential area.
From upstairs, Zhang Yuan watched through the window blinds as that man drove away from her residential compound, her eyes shimmering with admiration…
“Hum…”
Driving on the road, Li Ming felt relieved that the engine sounds were very faint, which wouldn’t attract zombies.
Driving out of the residential area contentedly, Li Ming entered the deserted streets, with only a few zombies in the distance.
“The apocalypse occurred at midnight when most people were sound asleep, so the zombies were mostly trapped in houses. As I thought, the zombies on the street are few.”
He felt a fleeting twinge of sympathy for the people overseas, where it would have been morning, right?
Shaking his head, Li Ming saw that there were few zombies and cars on the street, so without hesitation, he drove to his nearest destination: Anfeng Internet Cafe.
“Hum…”
He encountered a few zombies along the way.
“Heh heh…”
Upon hearing the sound, the nearby zombies smelt Li Ming’s scent and madly pounced towards him. Still, under the powerful force of the off-road vehicle, they either got crushed to death or flung away.
After driving recklessly on the streets, Li Ming arrived at Anfeng Internet Cafe, less than 500 meters away from his residential compound. He parked his car on the side of the road, swiftly got off the car with his sword, took down the gun from the roof, and turned to face the ten zombies that had followed him.
Focusing his gaze, Li Ming seized the scattered positions and distances of the ten zombies, taking the initiative to charge at the front ones. His spear struck fast and steady, and successfully eliminated the first three zombies.
“Heh heh…”
The remaining four zombies then surrounded him, but Li Ming took three steps backwards. As the zombies chased after him, he stabbed two of them with his spear, killed two more after retreating, and ultimately killed all the zombies on the street.
“Cht cht…”
His spear constantly striking, Li Ming backed away while slaying the zombies. Once all the chasing zombies were killed, he breathed lightly, opened his salt water bottle and took a sip, then fixed his gaze on the internet cafe beside him and walked towards it with his spear.
“Heh heh…”
