Chapter 90: Feel The Pain In Silence Like I Did"

As they struggle to pack, wondering where they could carry some other things from, a car arrives, for a moment Ace thinks it’s jun, but jun had told him that he was having a meeting and he wished he could join but he can’t, but he will meet them tonight.

Jun knows where the house is located, he helped Ace choose , but Ace bought it on his own.

When the car comes to the view clearly, Ace’s heart stops when he realises who it belongs to.

Kieran gets out, his , his steps cautious as he moves toward the family. For a moment, Ace has no idea how to feel.

"What are you doing here?" He asks, though not sure if he really wants to lush at Kieran like that.

Just as he heard, Kieran looks tired, worn out. Drained.

"I uh came to see you, to talk to you." Kieran says , acknowledging Marsel and Elira’s presence.

"Didn’t I make it clear, Kieran? I really have nothing to talk to you about!" Ace says , his voice, but carries thousands of emotions.

Kieran is quiet for a moment before he bows slightly before Marsel and Elira. "VeilWalkers, beside being here to talk to Ace, am here too to genuinely apologise for being so thoughtless and heartless to your son, I don’t deserve him, he deserves someone much better than me, but am not willing to let him be with someone because that would feel like death to me... so am willing to change for him, to be that better person to him. I acted without thinking, and I regret all my mistakes, and I wish I can take them back." He says, his vision blurring.

But Ace is still startled, stuck at the part where Kieran called him his "your son" he doesn’t understand how kieran knows that.

"How did you know they are my parents?!" Ace asks, his brows knitted.

Kieran doesn’t say a word, but Elira shocks him when she says, "My love, we had told him."

Ace stares blankly.

They had told him?! What do they exactly mean? They had told Kieran even before they told him?!

"You told him." He says his voice low and laced with something they can’t register yet.

"Ace, we know how much he’s hurt you. We’re not ignoring that, and we don’t expect you to forgive him right away. But we’ve seen something in him... something that tells us he’s truly changing. We’re not on his side, we’re on yours_ always. But we also believe he’s part of your story, whether you want him to be or not." Marsel says, dreading.

"You mean... all this time I’ve been complaining about him, crying to you how he has done this and that to me... you were just on his side?! Siding with him even when he hurts me?! Why do I feel like everyone is on his side, ignoring the fact that he has made me go through hell?! Jun is there supporting him, and now you?! And you claim that you love me?! You care about me?! And what are you even talking about when you say that ’the one meant for me’ in case you are forgetting, we don’t have a mate bond anymore!" Ace snaps, his angers flaring, but he doesn’t want to let it go too far.

His parents dare not speak up.

"Ace..." Kieran starts but Ace cuts him.

"Leave Kieran, I was really in a good mood and now you are ruining that!" He says.

"Ace, tell me, do you want me to kneel down in front of the world and beg you for forgiveness for you to knew how sorry I am?! Why don’t you tell me what to do for you to know how terribly sory I am?" Kieran’s pain is evident in every aspect of him.

"You wanna know what I want you to do?" Ace asks firmly. Hope flickering in Kieran that maybe he has a chance because he is willing to do whatever. Anything.

But his hope shutters when Ace says, "Feel the pain, feel the pain that you heartlessly imposed on me, and don’t follow me around again." Ace snaps walking away from him.

For a moment, silence stretches between them, thick with unspoken words and suppressed emotions.

Kieran stands frozen, his breath coming in slow, uneven pulls. Ace watches him, waiting for him to break_ to react, to push back, to say anything.

But Kieran only nods, as if Ace’s words have carved straight through his soul. His jaw tightens, and he swallows hard before speaking.

"If that’s what you want, Ace... I’ll feel the pain." His voice is quiet but steady. "I’ll feel every bit of it. But you should know something_ " he exhales, hands clenching at his sides, "_ I already do."

Ace scoffs, turning away, but Kieran takes a cautious step forward.

"You think I don’t suffer every single day without you? That I don’t relive everything I did, everything I failed to do? I know I don’t deserve another chance. I know I ruined us. But don’t ever think that I walked away unscathed. Because I didn’t."

Ace grits his teeth, his fingers trembling at his sides. He doesn’t want to hear this. He doesn’t want to feel this.

"Then suffer in silence, Kieran. Like I did." Ace says coldly, forcing himself to stay firm.

A sharp breath escapes Kieran, but he doesn’t fight back. Instead, he glances at Marsel and Elira, one last silent plea in his eyes. Then, finally, he steps back.

"I won’t follow you around , anymore, as you wish." His voice is raw. "But I won’t stop loving you either. You don’t really want to be with me anymore, so I won’t bother you. But if you ever you think of me one day, and maybe think that we can be_ then don’t hesitate to come and rescue me from the pain, because as long as I don’t have you by my side, it means I’ll still be in pain."

And with that, he turns and walks back to his car.

Ace should feel relief. He got what he wanted. Kieran is leaving. He’s not pushing anymore.

But instead of relief, an ache builds in his chest. Something hollow. Something he doesn’t want to name.

Yet he pushes it away as he leads his parents to their new home. Silence choking both of them.
