Alpha's mate is a male?!?-Chapter 89: New Beginning.
Chapter 89: New Beginning.
Jun arrives, walking up the path toward Ace’s home with a mix of curiosity and excitement.
His heart races at the thought of meeting Ace’s parents. As they approach the front door, Ace hesitates for a moment, glancing at Jun.
"Ready?" Ace who had gone to meet him on the way asks, trying to sound casual but his voice betraying his nerves.
Jun gives him a reassuring smile. "Of course. I’m not going anywhere." He pats Ace on the shoulder, his usual confident self.
Ace has told him everything that his parents told him. How and why they left him there. How they’ve been watching him.
How they are the legends, the only kind remaining.
Ace gives a tight-lipped smile and knocks softly before pushing the door open.
"Welcome, Jun!" Elira’s voice is filled with warmth as she spots them. She pulls Jun into a quick hug, her hands light on his back. "We’ve heard so much about you. Ace talks about you all the time."
Marsel, standing nearby, offers Jun a firm handshake, his eyes full of pride and sincerity. "You’ve been a great support to our son. We can see it, and we’re grateful."
Jun smiles back, feeling the acceptance in their words. "It’s an honor to finally meet you both."
"Come in, come in," Elira insists, gesturing for him to enter. The air is cozy, full of the aroma of food, and Jun immediately feels like he belongs here.
They all sit down at the table, and the conversation flows easily.
Ace is quiet at first, stealing glances at his parents and then at Jun. He notices how Jun effortlessly slips into the role of a family member.
Elira and Marsel have long been watching him, approving of how he treats Ace, how he’s been there for him. They have a deep fondness for him, even before meeting him in person.
Elira places a hand on Jun’s, a soft smile on her lips. "Jun, you’re family. Feel free to call us Mom and Dad, whenever you’re ready. We love you as much as we love Ace."
Jun chuckles softly, his voice warm. "Thank you, Mom, Dad."
Ace watches, a mix of emotions rushing through him. He hasn’t even called them that yet, still struggling with the weight of everything he’s learning.
His throat tightens, his gaze flickering between them. It’s hard for him, so he stays silent.
Marsel notices the struggle, his gaze softening. "Take your time, Ace. No rush. We’re here for you."
Ace finally nods, his heart swelling with an ache he can’t explain. He feels so loved, but part of him is still trying to catch up to this new reality.
He watches Jun, who looks so comfortable and happy, already fitting into this family so naturally.
That night, after a dinner filled with stories and laughter, Jun stays over. Ace can feel the warmth of the house, the peace that settles within its walls. As they all prepare to sleep, Jun pulls Ace aside, speaking softly.
"I can’t believe how easy it feels here, that’s why you always run here all the time." Jun says, his voice filled with admiration.
Ace smiles faintly. "It’s... not easy for me yet."
Jun shrugs, unbothered. "It will be. You’ll get there." He pulls Ace into a hug, knowing his friend needs the reassurance. "We’re family now, Ace. You and me... and them. We’re brothers, and the moment you told me you found your parents, I felt like I have parents again , so I would really love to be part you, of them."
"You are, Jun, you’ve always been, you gave me a family when I didn’t have anyone... and you will always be my family." Ace say.
"Thank you." Jun says quietly.
Ace stays quiet, but the words settle into his chest like a promise.
Almost all night, they spend talking as they share the room. Jun don’t forget to talk about Kieran who has become like some toddler, not doing anything, whining all day and night about Ace.
The next morning, Jun leaves, duty calls. They both can’t be lacking at the hotel.
-
It’s been days,
Ace is becoming more comfortable with his parents.
He wants to focus on other things...
Yet, his mind often drifts back to Kieran’s letters, the ones that keep coming to him everyday.
Each one, written with such raw emotion, speaks to the deep pain Kieran feels from losing him.
It’s clear Kieran has been struggling, but Ace doesn’t know how to respond, or if he’s even ready to face those emotions.
One particular letter, written just the night before, leaves Ace sitting in silence for longer than he anticipated.
The words pierce through his defenses, unearthing a pain he thought was buried:
"Ace, I can’t stop thinking about you. The absence of your voice, it haunts me. I know I hurt you, but losing you... losing you feels like a part of me is missing. I can’t fix what I’ve broken, but I swear, I would do anything to have you back. Please, don’t shut me out forever. I need you, Ace. I don’t know how to breathe without you by my side. I love you so much, please give me one last chance. Punish me however you want for hurting you. Am loosing myself without you, I want to think straight but I cant seem to.
Am writing you a letter because I don’t want to make you uncomfortable with my presence, please, punish however you want , but don’t shut me out like this."
Ace’s fingers tremble as he folds the letter, the words too heavy to hold for long. A part of him feels the ache of Kieran’s longing, but the other part remains guarded, unwilling to dive into the mess of emotions they both share.
Shaking his head, Ace sets the letter aside, his thoughts returning to his parents.
Lately, he’s been going out more, visiting town, walking through the busy streets. The weight of the forest that surrounded their home is starting to feel too heavy.
It’s not that he doesn’t love the peace of the woods, but something about it feels isolating now.
He wants to bring his parents into the world_ bring them into a place where they can be part of something larger, where they can feel the life that pulses in the town just outside the trees.
Also, he has a lot to do out there, and he wants to be close to them.
Ace knows that his parents have grown accustomed to their quiet, secluded life, but he’s no longer comfortable with them being isolated like this.
The thought nags at him more each day, and he knows he has to do something about it.
One evening, as they sit together in the dim light of their small cabin, Ace decides to speak.
"Mum, Dad," he begins, his voice steady but filled with resolve. "I’ve been thinking a lot about this place. About us, and the future."
Elira looks up from the knitting in her lap, her brow furrowed in concern. "What’s on your mind, Zeiren?"
"I... I don’t want you to live here anymore." Ace’s words come out firmly, though his heart beats a little faster as he watches their reactions. "I’ve been going out a lot lately, and I realized... this place isn’t enough anymore. You shouldn’t have to live isolated like this, away from everything and everyone."
Marsel tilts his head, a thoughtful look crossing his face. "This is the home we’ve known for so long, Ace. Why the sudden change?"
Ace takes a deep breath, his hand reaching into his pocket to pull out an envelope. He opens it and hands them a set of papers. "I’ve been saving up, and I’ve used most of it to buy a home. It’s a townhome, just on the edge of town, where humans and wolves live side by side. It’s a place where you won’t have to be hidden away. You won’t be isolated. Please, accept my little effort."
Elira’s eyes widen in surprise, and Marsel’s jaw tightens as he scans the papers. They don’t say anything at first, the silence thick as the reality of what Ace is suggesting sinks in.
"You’ve... bought a home for us?" Marsel finally asks, his voice a mix of pride and disbelief.
Ace nods, his expression serious. "I want you both to be close to me. I don’t want to feel like I have to leave you behind to be part of the world. We can be a family, in a real place, not hidden away."
Tears well up in Elira’s eyes, and she looks up at Marsel, who seems to be processing the weight of Ace’s offer.
For years, after they were cast out, they’ve lived in isolation, fearing what might happen if others knew of their existence. But now, their son is asking them to trust him, to trust the world outside. freёwebnoѵel.com
Elira places a hand on Ace’s cheek, her voice soft. "You’ve always been our heart, Zeiren. If this is what you want, then we’ll go with you."
Marsel finally nods, a slight smile on his lips. "We’ve built a life here, but we can start anew. For you, we’ll go anywhere."
Ace feels a rush of relief flood through him. They’re not rejecting him, not turning away from his hopes.
The weight of his emotions, the conflicting desires to be close to them yet not leave Kieran’s pain unaddressed, settles in his chest like a storm cloud.
But for now, with his parents by his side, he feels like he’s made the right choice.
"We’ll get it ready," Marsel says, standing up and clapping Ace on the shoulder. "Let’s pack up. It’s time for a new Chapter. I can’t even wait for a second."
Ace smiles, his heart light. "Thank you."
