"How was last night?"

I narrowed my eyes to look at Noah when he asked this the next morning.

The look on his face made it clear that he already knew what had happened, or at least had a very good idea of what happened.

It would have been strange if he knew exactly what happened, but for him to know the general gist...

Seeing the way that I looked at him, Noah said, "When they’re preparing all that, it’s hard for me not to know about it. I just never thought that they would have a chance to use it so soon."

I couldn’t help revealing another bitter look when I heard this.

It wasn’t that I was angry with Noah for not telling me about what happened, it was that I was angry that he didn’t stop some of the more particular things that they prepared. Since he knew about them, he should have been able to stop them if he wanted to.

The fact that he didn’t was more than enough to prove that he was enjoying my suffering.

He let them do what they wanted because he knew that I would be getting the short end of the stick because of it. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

Noah didn’t panic at all as he just calmly said, "It’s just a bit of payback."

He didn’t even bother covering it up, he just directly told me that he was well aware of everything that happened and didn’t try to stop it.

All I could do was raise a hand to point a finger at him before...

"Good kid, I’ll get back at you." I said before opening my hand and patting him on the shoulder.

It wasn’t as if I would really get angry at him since he was my brother in law.

Not to mention that I knew that he wouldn’t have been able to do anything to stop them.

I already knew that there was a deep fear of his sister that filled his heart, so he wouldn’t be able to stop her if she was set on doing something.

There was no way that Angela wasn’t involved in this matter with everything that had been prepared.

Not to mention that a whip was technically considered a weapon and wasn’t something that could be brought into the castle without permission.

Only someone like Angela who was part of the original ruling family would be able to do so without raising any suspicions. If Rose and the others were to do so, then it would have at least raised a few questions and revealed part of their plan.

Noah didn’t say anything else, but the look on his face made it clear what he was thinking.

"What are you talking about?"

The two of us couldn’t help jolting as if we had been caught doing something wrong, but then we turned around as if nothing had happened.

Standing there were my wives, but they weren’t alone.

They had brought the kids over to see me.

After all, it wasn’t as if I would be staying much longer.

The wedding was already over and everything else was settled, so there was only one thing that was left for me to do. I had to go back to the Holy Empire and claim that final piece of the Creation God’s inheritance.

I had no idea what would happen, so I really couldn’t tell them how long it would take.

Which was why before I left, they brought the kids to see me.

My three daughters didn’t waste any time in running over to hug me.

Even though they had spent the last week with me, it wasn’t as if they got much time alone with me with how things went. There were still all those people from the other countries that hung around after the wedding.

All of them had been looking to build a relationship with the Kite Kingdom.

In the time that we still needed the racial alliance, it wasn’t as if I could just completely ignore them.

Which was why I really didn’t get to spend much time alone with my kids.

"Dad, come back soon."

All three of them said the same thing as they looked at me with tearful eyes.

There was a twinge that filled my heart seeing this and I wanted to promise that I would be back soon, but it really was hard for me to say this. Especially since I was doing this for them.

"I’ll be back as soon as I can."

In the end, the three of them stopped looking at me with those eyes and looks of determination filled them.

During the time that I hadn’t been here, it seemed like their mothers had been teaching them properly.

But seeing this made my heart hurt a bit more because I was missing the precious childhood of my daughters.

At least it seemed like there was still some innocence in their hearts as they reached their hands out towards me and stretched out their pinkies.

They were still asking me to make a pinky promise.

"I promise that I will be back as soon as possible." I said in the most sincere voice that I could give them.

They looked at me with determined looks before nodding in response, but it was hard to hide the traces of sadness that were in their eyes. In the end, they were still kids and it was impossible for them to completely act like adults.

I wanted to say something, but I couldn’t help closing my mouth right before I could speak.

That was because there was this strange sensation that filled me and it seemed like it was coming from these kids.

It wasn’t as if this was something bad, it was that this was like some kind of connection had been formed between us.

Or the better way to put it was that they had put some kind of blessing on me.

I didn’t know what they put on me, but I trusted that my daughters would never do anything to hurt me whether they did it consciously or unconsciously.
