Chapter 2704: Introduce Long Hui To Lou Weizhe
Seeing such a tempting and seductive sight so early in the morning, Yu Qi simply could not help herself. She quietly tiptoed toward him from behind, her bare feet making no sound against the kitchen floor, before wrapping her arms tightly around his waist.
The moment she hugged him, her hands immediately began wandering shamelessly across his firm chest, tracing the defined lines of his rock-hard eight-pack abs.
"What are you doing?" Long Hui asked helplessly, though a warm smile was already tugging at the corners of his lips as he leaned into her touch.
"Hugging my man." Yu Qi answered confidently, pressing her face comfortably against the broad, solid expanse of his back.
Long Hui could only shake his head slightly with a soft chuckle before continuing to finish the cooking, despite the fact that Yu Qi was stubbornly clinging onto him from behind like a koala. Soon enough, he finally turned off the stove after ensuring the food was perfectly done. He had prepared a fragrant, steaming batch of fried rice for their breakfast.
"If you have finished playing around, let’s eat breakfast first." Long Hui said while lightly patting her hands to get her to release him.
"Not finished yet." Yu Qi grinned mischievously, deliberately refusing to let him go while continuing to slowly rub and stroke Long Hui’s muscular body with both hands.
Long Hui suddenly turned around with lightning speed until he was directly facing Yu Qi. Without a single word of warning, he grabbed her by the waist and easily lifted her up, setting her down directly onto the edge of the kitchen table.
"Are you sure you want to continue this right now?" Long Hui asked, leaning in close until their noses almost touched while narrowing his eyes dangerously.
The moment Yu Qi saw the dark, predatory glint hidden deep within Long Hui’s eyes, she immediately realized that once he truly started another intense round on this table, there would be absolutely no stopping him today.
"No! No! I will stop now!" Yu Qi immediately said, raising her hands in surrender and speaking as obediently and innocently as possible.
"Hmm... Good girl." Long Hui nodded in satisfaction, a trace of deep amusement in his voice, before he gently gripped her waist again and helped her down from the table.
After that playful morning interruption, both of them sat down together at the dining table and began eating the delicious fried rice Long Hui had prepared earlier.
While they were eating, Long Hui gently asked Yu Qi about everything that had happened during his absence while he was away on his dangerous military mission. Naturally, Yu Qi told him everything from beginning to end without holding back, including the dramatic incident involving the company, starting from the exact moment Chen Meili called her a kept woman all the way to Chen Meili crying miserably on the floor in the middle of the courtroom.
Long Hui quietly listened to the entire story, his expression steady and unreadable as he refrained from interrupting her even once. After finishing that particular topic, Yu Qi continued smoothly, telling him about the much more bizarre matter involving the stolen luck and the spiritual anomalies.
The moment Long Hui heard Yu Qi mention the demon-related incident, his previously relaxed posture instantly stiffened, and his expression immediately became much sharper and colder, radiating a subtle pressure.
"You mean that man actually managed to summon a real demon?" Long Hui asked seriously, his protective instincts instantly kicking in at the thought of her in danger.
"Yes. But unfortunately for him, that demon was far too weak in front of Aoi." Yu Qi stated calmly while taking another casual bite of her food.
"Why didn’t you tell me about this sooner?" Long Hui asked again, his tone lowering noticeably as he became increasingly unhappy about the severe danger Yu Qi had faced without his knowledge.
"I did not want to disturb or distract you during your important mission. Besides, I was not alone at all. I had my contracted beasts with me the entire time. That weak demon could not do anything to me." Yu Qi explained patiently, offering him a soft smile while trying to soothe his obvious protective anger.
"I understand..." Long Hui nodded slowly, though his jaw remained tightly clenched. Then he added with utter seriousness, "However, next time, if a similar supernatural incident happens again, you absolutely need to tell me immediately."
"Okay." Yu Qi nodded obediently, understanding his concern.
Yu Qi still needed to go to work that day. So, after finishing their breakfast, she quickly got herself ready and dressed before heading out to the hospital. As usual, Long Hui continued carrying out his self-appointed role as Yu Qi’s personal bodyguard, driving her to her destination and keeping a watchful eye on her surroundings.
...
The next day, Yu Qi and Long Hui met up with Lou Weizhe at the designated location. Yu Qi had already made careful plans to visit the exact place where Ma Chunwei had summoned the demon. She firmly believed there had to be some lingering clues or spiritual remnants left there regarding Ji Gu Niang’s missing soul.
Yu Qi formally introduced Long Hui to Lou Weizhe before explaining their travel plan to Long Hui as well, informing him that they would be going to Ma Chunwei’s place together with Lou Weizhe as their guide.
"Mr Lou, this is my fiancé, Long Hui. Brother Hui, this is Lou Weizhe from the Heavenly Crane Pavilion." Yu Qi introduced them calmly.
The two men looked at each other briefly, measuring one another up with a single glance, before shaking hands politely.
"Hello. I am Lou Weizhe." Lou Weizhe introduced himself first, maintaining a respectful posture.
