Pregnant Bunny, Obsessed Beast Husbands
Chapter 84: "Good night, Duke.
He saw the girl’s evasive expression, and one of her rabbit ears drooped guiltily.
Her bright eyes glanced to the side. She clutched the white blanket at her collar, her pink lips parting slightly. "Uh, I thought you were... staff... from the Lost Tower."
The last time at the Lost Tower, he had suddenly pulled her into a small room.
Yu Zhizhi still remembered his name.
’Louis.’
He had been burning up at the time, as if he were in heat. In the end, Yu Zhizhi had exchanged for a Calm Potion for him.
Seeing his exceptionally handsome appearance, Yu Zhizhi had mistaken him for one of the Lost Tower’s Artists.
Now, seeing him in a dark green uniform, he showed none of the distress and pain from that night. His dark eyes held a gentle smile.
Louis looked at the petite female before him and said sincerely, "Thank you for your help last time. It’s my honor to become your Housekeeper."
"You’re welcome."
Yu Zhizhi lowered her gaze.
Louis heard the faint sound of water from the bathroom and glanced over.
He heard the little female explain, "There’s a Mermaid in the bathroom, but he doesn’t really like being around other people. If there’s no reason to, please don’t go in there."
A physician had come during the day, and the Mermaid had been angry for a long time.
"Understood, Miss." Louis averted his gaze and asked, "What would you like for dinner tonight?"
Yu Zhizhi sat back down on the sofa. With the fireplace behind her, the entire soft couch was toasty warm.
"I want noodles with tomato sauce~"
Louis saw the white sofa had become a "rabbit’s nest." The little rabbit girl was curled up in the blanket, with only one small, fair foot peeking out.
"And I want some seaweed and egg drop soup."
"Please wait a moment." Louis gave a slight nod.
He went straight to the kitchen and began preparing dinner. Soon, the aroma of cooking filled the small cabin.
Louis cooked with great skill, which matched the housekeeping experience listed on his resume.
Yu Zhizhi secretly watched his straight back. She pulled a small, keychain-like object from under the sofa—it was the handheld device Luther had left for her.
It could be used for communication, entertainment, watching live streams, purchasing goods, and so on.
It was an essential tool that everyone in the Moon Rising Empire owned.
Yu Zhizhi watched the news for a bit.
On the floating, light-blue electronic screen, all sorts of sensational headlines appeared one after another. At the very bottom was a button to switch regions.
After a moment’s hesitation, Yu Zhizhi tapped it and selected [Valoran Empire] from the pop-up window.
She had been gone for two days and wanted to see if there was any news about her.
On the forums, the trending topics were news about [Don Locke K] and [Duke Bolan].
Scrolling through the homepage, it seemed the Duke had suppressed the news of Yu Zhizhi’s escape. There wasn’t a single ripple in the entire Imperial City.
Louis brought out the food.
He saw the region displayed on the projection screen—
’The Valoran Empire?’
Yu Zhizhi sat up on the sofa, and the floating screen automatically vanished.
She slid onto the carpet and looked at the already-mixed noodles, coated in tomato sauce. They smelled especially fragrant.
Louis presented a pair of wooden chopsticks.
"Thanks~" Yu Zhizhi accepted them happily. She couldn’t wait to take a bite of the noodles. "This is delicious!"
The noodles were cooked to a perfect al dente texture, and the tomatoes were softened and mashed into a sauce~
Louis’s cooking was even better than she had imagined.
Louis smiled faintly.
"You flatter me, Miss."
After eating, Yu Zhizhi didn’t forget to go feed the Mermaid.
Watching the girl head to the bathroom carrying a bag of "feed," the corners of Louis’s mouth lifted slightly. He lowered his gaze and quietly cleared the dishes.
After heading to the kitchen, he sensed something strange in his body. His gentle eyes instantly turned cold.
"This is my time."
After feeding the Mermaid, Yu Zhizhi returned to the sofa.
She loved this spot, feeling as if she were embedded in the softness. The fireplace behind her crackled as the wood burned. Night fell, and a small lamp glowed on the coffee table.
Louis returned from planting a tree in the yard and saw the little female from the Rabbit Clan had fallen asleep, curled up on the sofa.
He closed the door.
He walked over slowly, gently lifted her into his arms, and carried her to the room on the second floor.
Yu Zhizhi was half-asleep, only vaguely aware that she was being carried.
Bodily memory stirred. She thought it was the Duke, so she gently clutched the man’s clothes and mumbled in her sleep, "Good night... Duke..." 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
Louis’s steps faltered slightly—
’The Duke?’
’I wonder which Duke of the Empire the little rabbit girl is talking about?’
Yu Zhizhi slept through the night.
When she woke up, she realized she had somehow gotten back to her room. Pushing open the window, she saw that the snow had stopped.
’I get to go to the Lost Tower and get the Purification Holy Medicine today!’
Yu Zhizhi was thrilled at the thought of going out.
She put on a pair of thick white socks and padded down the stairs, all the way to the warm, yellow carpet in the living room.
The door was ajar.
In the yard, Louis was shoveling snow.
Seeing that she was up, Louis nodded slightly. "Good morning, Miss."
"Good morning~"
"Can we go for a walk today?" Yu Zhizhi asked, her face full of anticipation.
"Of course."
Louis shoveled a path through the snow from the doorway, winding all the way to the outer wooden gate to make it easier for the little rabbit girl to get around.
Yu Zhizhi went back to the living room. After finishing breakfast, she didn’t forget to pop by the bathroom to say hello to the Mermaid.
She put on a thick white coat, wrapped a scarf around her neck, and, because she was afraid of the cold, also put on a pair of gloves.
Louis the Housekeeper stood waiting outside the door.
The wind ruffled his short black hair. His deep, dark eyes were filled with amusement as he watched the little female hop out, her two rabbit ears wiggling happily.
From a male’s perspective, she was truly adorable.
Afraid she might fall, Louis kept his eyes fixed on her footing.
Walking from Zero Star Street toward the command center, they left the neighborhood and entered a vast, snow-covered forest.
This area was situated between the residential district and the command building. The snowy scenery was beautiful. A ray of morning light shone through, illuminating frozen leaves shaped like butterflies, creating a magnificent sight.
Yu Zhizhi walked slowly, crunching through the snow.
Louis stayed right by her side.
Once they reached the command area, the Guard Team drove up in a snowmobile and escorted her all the way to the entrance of the Lost Tower.
When the Elk Host saw Yu Zhizhi, his face was wreathed in an ingratiating smile. "Ms. Zhi Zhi, you’re so early! The Holy Medicine just arrived, and we’re currently drafting a simple instruction manual for it."
The Lost Tower wasn’t as lively during the day as it was at night.
The beautiful glass rooms were all empty, without a single beast-person in sight.
The Elk Host invited them into a VIP room.
He ceremoniously handed the packaged Holy Medicine to Yu Zhizhi.
Along with it was a [User Guide].
Yu Zhizhi looked at the small red gift box and the handwritten guide. The paper seemed very thick.
Seeing the girl’s confused expression, the Elk Host said with a smile:
"After you unwrap the Holy Medicine, it needs to be air-dried for a few days. Before using it, roast it over a fire for one night. That will make it more effective. The specific procedures are all detailed in this guide."
Just as the Elk Host was about to say more, a bloodcurdling scream suddenly erupted from outside the door—
"AHHHH!—"
His expression changed abruptly. He stood up, wringing his hands nervously.
’It can’t be such a coincidence, can it?’
’Of all times for this to happen!’
