What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?-Chapter 485: They Have A Car
The night club was still open and there were still patrons around so I was surprised that Valiea actually showed up to tell us it was time to go.
I figured that meant her shift was over but the club was still open.
Also, those guys that followed her husband to our table seemed to just be friends of the couple who were trying to back the husband up in case I tried anything violent.
I'm assuming something like that has happened before for them to be that cautious so I don't really blame them.
Anyway… If it really came to a fight, I'm pretty sure they would be the ones on the ground anyway.
Valiea led us out through the front door where we collected our weapons first, the two of them waving farewell to the other staff members and putting on cloaks before they pulled up their hoods to cover their faces and stepped out of the club.
Apparently they're well known enough around here that if people saw them on the streets, they might get swarmed by fans or maybe even competitors trying to take them out.
Seems like it's not even a good thing to be famous in this station…
"Why not hire guards or something?" I asked while we walked through the streets, adjusting my grip on an unconscious Ries who was purring on my back.
Meanwhile, Lea was being carried by Amber who didn't have a problem carrying her since I'm sure she was using her telekinesis to lift her up while pretending like she was using her hands.
"We'll stand out too much with a bunch of guards following us and even if a fight were to occur, we can handle ourselves," Ragbar grinned at me from under his hood.
As he said so, he pushed his cloak to the side to reveal a holster with a rather impressive looking pistol strapped to it.
Valiea didn't say anything but I assume that she was also armed as well, though I was already expecting that since I figured it was normal to be armed on this ring of the station.
We continued walking until we came to what looked like a garage with a shutter at the back.
"You got a car?" Ragbar asked as the couple approached the console at the side.
"We're… Not from this station," I explained, feeling a little weird that despite being here for a while, the thought of cars never even occurred to me.
I mean… I've already seen some of them around other stations but most of the stations I've been to don't really have roads in the first place.
Besides… Cars were pretty much useless to me since we weren't planning on settling down in a station in the first place. And I don't think it's worth our money to invest in one since it has very limited usage.

Ragbar paused, "Ah… So you guys don't have a car… Err… How many of us are there again?"
"Six, if you include the two of you," I told him immediately.
He relaxed, "Ah, then we can all fit in the car. Give me a moment."
He tapped on the console and it seemed to be asking him for a password which he quickly inputted before the words 'Retrieving' appeared on the screen.
There was a soft 'ding' sound before the shutter at the back of the garage slid upwards, revealing a car behind it that rolled out on its own.
Ah, so this is a carpark I guess?
The car itself kind of looked like those campervans except this one was obviously more futuristic looking. It even had a part of the roof sticking out in front as well.
"Sometimes my wife and I go to other parts of the station to promote the club by doing some on site mixing. So we have to get ourselves a mobile bar you see," Ragbar explained while gesturing at the car with a sense of pride. "Come on then!"
I remained where I was, "Hold on… You haven't even told us where you're taking us yet and you're expecting us to just jump into your car?"
Valiea didn't even turn back as she opened the sliding door at the side of the car, "Our home. I have taken an interest in your mixing skills and I would very much like to have a talk about it if you don't mind."
"If I say I do mind?"
She turned to face me, "Then you can just leave right now. I will not stop you. However… I am interested in teaching you how to flair and have a rematch with you again."
I blinked at her, "Wait… What? You want to teach me just so that I can challenge you again? Why?"
"The only reason why it was even a draw today was the fact that you don't know how to flair, right? I had the advantage in knowing how to do that while you didn't. That meant I was being challenged while you weren't even at your best. I want to challenge you again at your best."
"Wait… Aren't you… Basically setting yourself up to be beaten?"
She scoffed, "You may have me beat in taste but that doesn't mean you are that good at flair bartending. I could try to teach you but you end up just having no talent for it. But I would at least still want to challenge you on equal grounds if I'm able to."
Ok… She's basically saying that she wants to train me to defeat her.
I can sort of understand her reasoning since I'm probably the only one who has actually gotten that close to beating her but I wasn't just going to take that at face value.
"What do you want in return for teaching me?" I asked.
She seemed to hesitate for a moment, "I don't even dare to ask this since I'm doing this out of my own selfish wants but… If… If it's not too much trouble… Can you teach us how to mix like you do? How do you even create a drink like that?"
Err… I mean… I can't really tell them that part of it was because of my perks but I guess I could at least tell them how to do it. If Valiea could make something like that drink she gave me, I'm pretty sure she would still benefit from what I can teach her.
Question is… Is this worth it to us?
We're still here for the pirates so we have to prepare for that… But once again, it's not like we're in a rush to deal with them either.
I turned to my girls and both Amber and Mara were giving me looks of anticipation and I pretty much understood that they really wanted to see me flair as well.
I turned back to the couple, "I hope this isn't some kind of elaborate plan to take out the competition…"
Ragbar waved his hand at me, "Please, us? Never. Besides, that girl behind you could possibly kill me faster than I could blink."
I froze. Did he know that Amber is a Psionic?
He grinned before nodding at Amber, "I used to be a Merc too, you know? Though I only reached Silver rank. Nice to meet you, Golden Amber."
Oh, ok… So it's just her reputation as a Merc that made him believe that, not because he somehow knew she was a Psionic.
Amber didn't say anything and simply nodded at him in return.
"Fine… We'll go."
Ragbar let out a bark of laughter, "Perfect! Hop in and get comfortable! Feel free to make yourself a drink at the back if you want to!"
He then hopped into the driver's seat while Valiea held the door for us to climb in.
The inside of the campervan was pretty spacious with a fully stocked mixer bar on one side of the wall while the other side was taken up by a rather long couch.
I had to help buckle Ries in while Amber did the same for Lea before we took a seat ourselves.
The door shut and Valiea jumped into the seat beside her husband before the car moved off without a sound.
"So you girls here on tour or… Is this a Merc job?" Ragbar asked, clearly trying to make small talk for the drive to their place.
"Merc job," I answered, being intentionally vague.
"Oh, not staying for long?"
"We'll be flying off once we're done with the job."
"Ah… We're not disturbing you are we?"
"It's fine, there's no time limit for the job and we're waiting for a good time to deal with it right now."
"That's nice~ Hey honey?"
Valiea shot him a look, "No, you are not going back to the Merc business. We already talked about this."
"Oh come ooon! Just a bit?!"
"No."
The husband groaned at her and I couldn't help but chuckle a little at their dynamic.
They're cute.
But not as cute as my girls of course~
