Chapter 633: The Abyss of the Past

Atop an unmoving meteor in the starry skies, Ying Yue held a crystal token between her fingers, sensing Pang Jian's shifting position.

"He sure is fast," Ying Yue said. "At this speed, he'll reach You Kui's star in just over ten Abyss days."

Han Yi gave a reserved smile and asked, "Do I look good?"

Lifting her jade-like hands, she gracefully twirled before the Moon God. Her necklace, earrings, and bracelet glimmered brilliantly with her every movement.

Threads of cold energy seeped from the three accessories, merging with her divine platform to transform into her Frigid Divine Domain.

The necklace, earrings, and bracelet worked together to form a complete set of divine artifacts, amplifying the strength of her Frigid Divine Domain by at least thirty percent.

She had deliberately dressed her best, hoping to leave a lasting impression on Pang Jian.

However, Pang Jian, clueless about romance as he was, barely spared her a glance.

"You look beautiful, just slightly below me," Ying Yue teased with a smile. After a brief hesitation, she added solemnly, "You Kui desires that set of divine artifacts you're wearing."

"I know." Han Yi's expression turned cold.

Part of the reason Han Yi had worn these divine artifacts was precisely because Ying Yue had intercepted a message where You Kui explicitly stated his desire for them.

"You Kui will die, and Pang Jian will get another good look at my divine artifacts," Han Yi said, staring at the Frigid Nether Mountain floating silently in her left palm before turning to the nameless star in the distance. "Pang Jian is incredibly strong now. I believe he can kill You Kui."

"If he fails, he'll die," Ying Yue countered coldly. "He's a True God of the human race. An endless stream of Gods will hunt him down the moment his presence in the starry skies is exposed.

"Zi Mo of the Ghost Race and Great Demon God He Motian would certainly be very interested in him."

"He'll need to retreat into the bizarre mist immediately after killing You Kui to evade pursuit.

"Han Yi, promise me you won't do anything reckless.

"Neither of us can afford to show ourselves, regardless of whether Pang Jian succeeds or fails. We simply cannot let anyone know we have ties to a True God of the human race!"

Ying Yue could not shake the feeling that Han Yi had become increasingly impulsive since getting involved with Pang Jian.

"Mm, I know," Han Yi replied absentmindedly.

Her focus had already shifted to the crystal token that allowed her to communicate with Pang Jian. Through it, she secretly transmitted more details about You Kui's weaknesses, hoping to give Pang Jian every advantage possible.

Three blazing streaks of fiery radiance simultaneously descended upon the Dark Abyss Continent in the Third World.

"Lord Yan Lie!" Sha Jia rose to her feet, bowing respectfully toward the Fire God before offering slight nods to Lie Yang and Qi Xu.

Jing Sha of the Dark Shadow Race and Ah Man of the one-eyed giants also greeted him with reverence, "Lord Yan Lie!"

"I heard you descended on the Fey Spirit Continent and attacked a Fey King attempting to ascend to Fey God? A Giant Abyssal Serpent?" Yan Lie questioned with a frown.

Sha Jia did not deny it. "That Giant Abyssal Serpent's bloodline is linked with darkness. My own bloodline is tied to light. If the Giant Abyssal Serpent becomes a Fey God, it'll inevitably counter me."

"He escaped right under your nose?" Yan Lie pressed further.

Sha Jia's expression turned awkward, but she nodded nonetheless. "Yes, that's what happened."

"The Fey Race has a pact with us. Don't go after him again." Yan Lie snorted coldly. "The Sovereign presides over the Abyss. We can afford to tolerate a Fey God who ascended through darkness.

"Besides, the Sovereign herself wishes for the Giant Abyssal Serpent to ascend. The Abyss needs the birth of a God of Darkness."

Sha Jia's eyes widened in shock. "This is her will?"

"Yes."

"Alright. I understand." Sha Jia immediately abandoned all thoughts of continuing her search for the Giant Abyssal Serpent. Instead, she asked, "My lord, has she truly descended into the endless darkness below?"

Lie Yang, Qi Xu, and Jing Sha exchanged subtle yet noticeable glances at Sha Jia's question.

As Rank Ten powerhouses born in the Fifth World, they naturally understood the significance of the endless darkness. If anyone else had descended into it, they would have assumed that person was gone forever.

It was only because this was the Sovereign that they believed she would return.

"Indeed. She intends to do something, something that will allow the murky energy to surge all the way to the First World," Yan Lie said, his tone deep and inscrutable.

A wave of shock rippled through the assembled powerhouses.

The upward surge of murky energy had always been limited to the Second World in the past.

If murky energy were to reach the First World, all but the most elite human cultivators would face total annihilation.

Mortals and those with low cultivation realms could not withstand the corrosive nature of the murky energy.

Even if the strongest human cultivators survived, the impact on the human race would still be catastrophic.

Smaller sects, citizens of divine kingdoms, and the humans migrated from the Fourth, Third, and Second Worlds would all perish beneath the spreading murky energy.

"The Sovereign's divine might is unparalleled!"

"Victory will be effortlessly ours!"

Qi Xu and Jing Sha exclaimed in joy.

Back at Golden Plume City, Pang Jian touched the golden feather with his finger, sensing the divine power within through both physical contact and divine sense as he meticulously analyzed its mysteries.

One day, he saw a vision of a colossal Golden-Winged Giant Roc, slicing across the sky of the First World with its razor-sharp wings in trails of dazzling golden light.

It was incredibly strong. Cracks fissured through the sky with every flap of its wings, as if space itself was on the verge of shattering.

Despite this, no matter how fiercely it tore at the barrier, it left no mark behind.

It tried repeatedly, golden feathers igniting and Fey God bloodline boiling. Even when its wings were reduced to nothing but golden bones, it still failed to leave a single mark on the barrier.

Defeated but unwilling to back down fully, it plunged into the bizarre mist, heading to the boundary wall for another desperate attempt.

It traveled across the different worlds of the Abyss, searching for weaknesses in the boundary wall to break free.

Unfortunately, each attempt always ended in inevitable failure.

The Golden-Winged Giant Roc was the strongest being of its era. This was during a time when even the First World of the Abyss surged with murky energy. Only near the barrier did a faint trace of spiritual qi leak through.

That scattered spiritual qi was pitifully insignificant compared to the overwhelming presence of the murky energy.

Although the presence of spiritual qi had perplexed the Golden-Winged Giant Roc, it did not care enough to dwell on the matter.

It was the strongest being in the Abyss, and its sole desire was to escape into the starry skies above and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with other legendary divine beings.

These countless failures, however, eventually forced it to make a different choice. It plunged into the endless darkness beneath the Fifth World and was never seen again.

Witnessing the Golden-Winged Giant Roc's unyielding will and relentless attempts allowed Pang Jian to gain insight into its mastery over the Dao of Metal.

At that moment, the golden feather finally succumbed to him, drawn seamlessly into the golden mountain in his dantian.

An otherworldly tremor seemed to echo throughout his dantian from this resounding shift. The gray-black fragmented land had finally become whole.
