Trapped In A Novel As The Breeding Mate For Four Powerful Alphas-Chapter 23: I’ll get you something to make you feel better
Chapter 23 - I'll get you something to make you feel better
"You're on the run? I'll help you."
The memory was rather clear in my mind as if it were mine to begin with.
A kind and friendly Beta who worked at a serving house. At that moment, even Jo-Pil did not know what kind of establishment that was because he was so focused on running.
It might've looked like a normal serving house from the outside, but once you were inside, you would understand that illegal businesses had a lot of coats to cover up their activities.

The Beta wasn't a manager and appeared to be a normal server but he acted so kind and sincere to Jo-Pil. He acted as if he would take responsibility if his superiors had a problem with what he did and this confused Jo-Pil, who wondered if he could really trust him.
At the moment, he did not have anywhere to go. He was hungry, suffering from his heat fever, and on the run. The people after him were very close as well.
If he hid here, he would be able to lose them for a while so he took his offer to help. Besides, it wasn't as if a Beta would be able affected by his heat Pheromones and try to take advantage of him.
That was what he thought.
This man brought him to a booth where he could hide and even gave him food, acting like a saint, and said he could stay for as long as he wanted and that he would talk to his superiors about it.
"If you're worried about paying me back, you can just repay me by working here." The Beta said with a friendly smile while hiding his devious intentions. "The salary is good, too, so you'll be able to do well on your own after you've repaid me."
His words were like sugar sprinkled on the top of a bitter stew. These words were like redemption to Jo-Pil who had not been able to stick to a job for long in a while.
If he could really work there then maybe he would be able to save enough money to flee the country.
Before Jo-Pil agreed to his terms, the Beta promised to go get him something that would make him feel better from his heat.
Jo-Pil thought he could finally get a breathing space but before long, the Beta showed his true colors.
His intent was as clear as day as he returned with an Alpha who had passed his middle ages.
The Beta was such a scum who wanted to sell Jo-Pil's body to some old guy who was looking to taste an Omega in Heat.
That was the kind of organization this was in the first place. It looked like a normal drink parlor with different booths but secretly, they had Omegas or any gender sell their body to the highest paying customer.
And right now, Jo-Pil's night had been 'bought' without his knowledge.
"I told you I'd get you something to make you feel better." The Beta said, showing his true colors as he snickered. "There's nothing to make an Omega in heat feel great than to lie with an Alpha, kekeke. Thank me later. Oh and when I said working here has good pay, I meant it. Spend a nice night with this gentleman and you will be rewarded,"
That wretched Beta. How did he even end up? I hope he got beaten at a back alley and his body eaten by dogs. I hope that the organization fell flat to the ground and the evil-doers were brought to justice.
That was such a devastating moment for Jo-Pil. A moment that changed his perspective of the world even more and made him hate Alphas to the core.
I guess that's why he never submitted to the Alphas even when they tried to be 'gentle' with him.
I opened my eyes slowly and squinted my eyes, feeling a sharp pain in my head.
'Ugh, did I hit my head when I fainted? My head is spinning.' I couldn't even sit up. What time was it?
I could feel my stomach crying out for a meal. I should probably get something to eat and...
I caught sight of Ki-hoon as I turned my head. He was sitting by my bed with his arms folded and his legs crossed. Ugh, why was he still here? Didn't he have better things to do?
Just thinking about him was giving me a headache.
'I haven't eaten so I don't have the strength to put up with his whims. Should I just pretend to go back to sleep? No, my stomach won't let me.'
"Have you come to?" Ki-hoon asked and I nodded.
"Did I... Pass out?" I asked but his gaze on me was chilly and sharp. Come on, cut me some slack. I didn't mutter anything in my sleep, did I?
"Why did you skip breakfast?" He asked and I darted my eyes away.
Right, Ki-hoon did not like it when Jo-Pil refused to eat. I forgot.
"I didn't skip breakfast," I said. "I woke up late and..." Oh, right. I shouldn't try to skip any detail. He saw me reading when he walked into the room. "...I was so fixated by the book I was reading that I forgot I needed to eat. I didn't do it on purpose, I'm sorry."
Yeah, an apology was the right way to go. If he so much as misinterpreted my actions for stubbornness or rebellion then it was over for me.
So far, so good; he hadn't raised his hand to hit me, so let's keep the momentum going.
"Did I faint from hunger?" I asked.
"What do you think?"
Seriously, couldn't he just answer me? He put me back on the bed and even covered me up with the blanket. Surely, he must've called someone to examine me, right? What was the time anyway?
"I don't know." I said, turning my gaze to the ceiling. "There were so many days I went without food, but I didn't faint like this, so I don't think it's due to hunger."
Ki-hoon looked at me as if I had said the most shocking news before shifting his gaze away. I hated that I couldn't read minds.
At least, if I was going to dream about a novel with completely unpredictable characters, I should've at least been given superpowers to help me go through the novel smoothly.
"If it's not the food," I shifted my gaze towards the window. "It must've just been my body reacting to the bad experience," I said and Ki-hoon paused.
Though I wasn't looking at him, I could tell his finally knit brows were furrowed in disdain. What? Did I hit a sour button or something?
"Finish the story," Ki-hoon suddenly said, his face barely looking at mine and I turned to him.
"Excuse me?" I looked at this man in disbelief. Was he for real? I just made it clear that I fainted from the memory of what I went through and all he's worried about is me finishing the story?
Hah! I knew I couldn't count on a jerk like him. What love? He just does whatever he wants and doesn't care what happens to Jo-Pil.
I wish I could smack his face, pull his hair, and yell in his ear that he was far from perfect, and if he kept up with that attitude, he would stay single for life. But of course, I couldn't do that.
But still... It felt so awful not knowing what he was thinking. I could be misunderstanding things but at the same time, they could be as they were on the surface, so it was such a predicament.
"What do you want to hear, Master?" I asked but he stayed silent. "Is it how I, someone who was frail and suffering from heat fever, killed an Alpha, or how I was able to escape since I had actually killed someone?" I asked but there was no reaction. Which brought me to ask the ultimate question. "Or do you want to know how far that man went?"
