Caishen was not the only one who planned to drink on this night. Alix too intended to finally partake fully in the joy of carefree social drinking with the help of the system.

For two points, the system provided her with a medical patch, a device that was an automatic alcohol synthesizer. Once attached to her skin, she could drink for eight hours and there would be no consequences because it released a chemical that broke down the alcohol components and eliminated it through the pores of her skin.

Alix experienced a new kind of excitement that she had felt only a few times before. The kind which mostly came when she was getting ready to head into a new gaming world.

She did have a nagging little assistant in her mind that kept reminding her to drink responsibly and get enough rest.

As she was filling her glass of wine again, she had it in her mind.

She rolled her eyes this time round, because she was receiving reminder number five.

"Remember that you the final battle is tomorrow."

"I know." She replied and didn't forget to groan.

The groan was loud,

unintentionally and it drew the attention of grandma Tai who was sitting next to her.

She, the two elders, two aunts, chairman Tai, Jiaan, Dalian and not surprising Ho Sun were all playing cards in the living room of the Tai's.

Dinner had already been eaten, they had watched an episode of let's get physical and now they were sharing some very expensive wine, common snacks and playing games.

"Are your cards bad?" Grandma Tai whispered to her.

Alix looked at her cards and she frowned because she was uncertain.

"What card do you need?" Grandma Tai asked her. She had to whisper because they would be cheating.

Even though she was whispering, those closest to her heard what she said to Alix. Chairman Tai shook his head while the two aunts laughed.

Grandpa Tai looked at his cards and wondered if he could help Alix in any way.

The Tai brothers had been expecting this. Their grandparents always cheated at cards, this time round they were just cheating for Alix instead o each other.

"No cheating." Chairman Tai said out loud to everyone.

Even if he said no cheating, it would not stop it from occurring. Alix had won three games so far thanks to cheating. In fact, what they didn't know was that even Majesty was helping Alix cheat.

Currently, the cat was peeking into Tai Ho Sun's cards. He noticed and poked Majesty's head with one of his fingers. Then shooed the cat away.

"I think sister's cat is helping her cheat. Why is it walking around like a prison warden inspecting our cards otherwise?"

"Don't be a sore loser brother." Alix responded.

She not so secretly accepted a card from grandma Tai.

Then she slapped her cards down with force and raised her hands, cheering for herself. "I win, again."

"You cheated." Tai Ho Sun shook his head.

She stuck her tongue out at him childishly and laughed. "Prove it brother."

"Our pretty baby is so smart." Grandma Tai clapped for Alix.

Alix put her head on the shoulder of the elderly woman and she said, "It's because I take after you grandmother."

She had grandma Tai eating out of the palm of her hands and the old woman was loving it. She looked at Alix with doting eyes and pinched her cheek.

"I thought you take after me." Grandpa Tai told her.

She raised her head, tilted it forward and said cheekily, "In looks, grandfather I am as pretty as you."

She had everyone laughing with her jokes and cute act which they adored. Alix was definitely loving it here and she was glad that she had not been invited to the Zhang's for dinner. After a long day, this was certainly better than whatever was going on over there.

Alix reached her hand out with the intention to re-fill her wine glass. The bottle however was quickly pulled away and a glass of water was shoved carefully in front of her. She took it, albeit unwilling.

"You have drunk enough." Tai Ho Sun told her.

She pouted and shook her head. She was having way too much fun to stop now. But, Ho Sun also shook his head stubbornly and he refused to budge.

"Just let her drink a little more." Grandpa Tai told him. "She is at home. If she gets drunk she can just walk to her bedroom and sleep.

In fact, you or one of your brothers can carry her."

He tried to hand Alix his own glass of wine but Ho Sun swiped it before it could arrive and he gave it to Tai Jiaan, gesturing in the direction of the kitchen.

"Girls should not over indulge in alcohol." he insisted. He looked at Alix who was still pouting and he said, "So, mom says you have blood sucking orchids. Is that it?"

He pointed at one of the three potted flowers that had been randomly placed on the table in the living room. Not only had his mother shared information about the orchids but she also shared the price list. He and the other brothers had been planning to buy up her inventory.

"The red one." she replied.

Slurring slightly over her words, auntie Mo loudly said, "We sold everything. Did I tell you that we sold everything?"

"Yes mother." Ho Sun replied slowly.

He briefly glanced at his mother and noticed that she was on her way to being fully intoxicated. His father needed to get that bottle of wine away from her as well.

He looked at the red orchid and then asked curiously. "Who would grow something like that?"

A flower that needed to drink blood was not just unusual but creepy. It was a murder weapon.

"A genius." Alix replied.

Her attention was drawn elsewhere, to the television. Someone had increased the volume and something was being reported about her brother-in-law.

"I am standing outside Light entertainment headquarters were some fans of beloved actor Zhang Bo have gathered to protest his retirement from acting."

A female entertainment

reporter was reporting.

Alix could not believe that the ridiculous fans who discussed this matter online had actually gone ahead to do it. She couldn't understand what kind of hold Zhang Bo had over them or what kind of right they had over him to stop his retirement.

Some of the younger fans were actually crying without fear in front of the cameras.

"That's your husband's brother, right?" Tai Jiaan asked Alix.

She nodded.

Grandpa Tai, like Alix could also not believe what he was seeing. "What is wrong with young fans of today? How can you you cry on television just because your favorite actor is retiring? What will they do if he announces that he is going to get married?"

His comments rhymed with a memory in her mind of Jin Kang crying as if the world had come to an end after news of Xiaobo's existence broke. She was not the only one that cried that day, there were other super fans like her who did the same.

Alix had not cried but she had been surprised. She had not been delusional enough to ever believe that she would personally be involved with someone like him.

Chairman Tai was the one who had increased the volume and he lowered it. "It's all in vain. Rumor has it he is about to be inaugurated as the next chairman of Zhang group."

"He is." Alix confirmed. Then she grabbed her bag that had been casually thrown across the table and pulled out a packet of face masks. "Grandfather, grandmother, do you want to put on a face mask with me?"

She changed the topic deliberately because had come here to relax and all topics Zhang related, she pushed to the back of her mind temporarily.
