The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 237: Nobody was asking for shit
"Why should I lie when your true nature is incapable of hiding?" Alix responded.
She was yelling and calling her a wench. Wasn't this proof enough that they didn't get along well? Alix had not even said a single thing to Jing Hee since she walked into the police station until this very moment.
Lin Billi could see that her mother was about to lose it and say something unthinkable so she wrapped her hands around Jing Hee's shoulders and squeezed them really hard. "Shhhh." she whispered.
Then, she looked at Alix and said, "Older sister, can we not do this here please. Mom and dad are not angry with you anymore. All they have....."
Alix could not be any interested in whatever scheme Billi was in the mood to concoct. "Shut up already Billi. You have eaten enough shit for the both of us for a lifetime. You don't need to vomit it out, nobody is asking for it."
A young pickpocket in handcuffs two tables over that was supposed to be confessing to his crime guffawed. Some officers cleared their throats while Auntie Mo did not even bother to hide her laughter. Everyone that had watched entertainment news lately had seen the story about Lin Billi eating shit.
Lin Billi dramatically covered her face with her hands and run out of the police station. Her manager that had been sitting close and watching her anxiously run after her.
Many of the people inside the room were now torn between pitying Billi or continuing to laugh at her. Some even felt as if Alix had gone too far. There was no need to taunt her sister with such a hateful memory that had obviously traumatized her.
The young pickpocket loudly said, "This sister, you are so brutal."
He was laughing and the detective taking his statement smacked him over the head with a piece of paper.
"Nice one." Auntie Mo whispered to Alix.
She had cleared one enemy off the table so precisely with just one statement. She was well versed in the art of the ruthless tongue attack. Auntie Mo looked at the remaining two opponents, Jing Hee and Lin Qianfan. They would be the next on the hit list.
As if he had just read her mind, Lin Qianfan offered himself up like a fat calf for slaughter before an ancient deity by speaking up. "Xi Xi, I know that you and your sister have some misunderstandings but that was not necessary. Later, you two should meet up and talk things over."

"Our daughter doesn't speak to thieves." Chairman Heng said.
"Yes, our pretty baby's every minute is precious. She can scribble down an entire music composition in one sitting during a conversation and then end up losing it when she goes to a bathroom. Some fake genius pianists have very quick hands you know." Auntie Mo said pretentiously, veiling her words but driving her point home for the Lin couple to understand.
Both Lin Qianfan and Jing Hee glared at Alix but chairman Heng noticed and he placed himself in front of her. They would not be intimidating her on his watch.
Lin Qianfan revised his strategy immediately. He already knew about the relationship between the Tai's and Alix from pictures he had seen online. What he needed to know now how deep did the relationship go and how could he use it to his advantage. So, he stepped forward and approached Tai Heng. "Chairman, it's clear that the women are very emotional. Why don't we solve this matter just between us men. I am sure that we can come to an understanding."
Auntie Mo turned to the detective and quickly said, "Officer, the assailant's family is approaching the victims family. This is not allowed, they are obviously trying to intimidate us."
Lin Qianfan backed away so as not to give the wrong picture. His face held an apologetic smile only for chairman Heng.
Detective Shao looked at all the lawyers, six in total that had come with both families. The Tai's brought four while the Lin's brought two. The lawyers on both sides had been unrealistically quiet through this ordeal. They didn't even dare to advise their clients on how to behave. Why then had they come in their expensive suits with their shiny cases? Did they just enjoy the smell of the police station?
Despite all the push and pull from both sides, he knew that the case had to be wrapped up one way or another. Detective Shao made up his mind not to be led by their drama and actually do his job the proper way.
"Ahem, witness, I mean miss Alix. Can I please get your identity card?"
Alix handed in her identification card.
So, he typed her name into his computer in order to look at her details. She was indeed Lin Alix, daughter of Lin Qianfan. Her mother was deceased and the accused assailant was her stepmother.
Detective Shao handed it back to her. Now, he at least knew which family she actually belonged to. Why she was with the Tai's was not his business.
"Miss Lin...." he said.
He was cut off by two women that corrected him. "Tai."
Grandma Tai and auntie Mo looked at detective Shao expectantly. In return, detective Shao looked at Alix and hoped he would not have to rip his hair out and end up bold before this minor case was settled.
"Miss...uhm...Alix," To avoid stepping onto any mines, he used her other name. "You are the sole witness to the crime. The hospital's footage was somehow lost and your testimony is the only thing we can rely on now to prove whether this was an accident or deliberate injury."
"Vicious, vicious crime." Auntie Mo chimed in, pointing to her hand in the cast.
For some reason, it made Alix almost guffaw. Auntie Mo was frustrating the detective.
"So, what is your recollection of the event?" detective Shao ignored auntie Mo and asked Alix.
Alix did not even hesitate to respond. She pointed at Jing Hee and said, "That woman came out of nowhere and grabbed my aunt by the hand so hard. I heard my aunt scream and something like the shattering of a bone." Alix faked a tremor and closed her eyes. Softly, she said, "It was horrible."
Detective Shao did not believe Alix at all. Did she know what kind of strength it took to shatter a bone just by grabbing someone?
The victim, suddenly lowered her head and started crying which caused detective Shao to sigh. This was going to be one of those days for him, a day he regretted not faking sickness and staying home to do anything else. Even a bloody crime scene had to be better than dealing with all this drama between two rich families.
Between Alix and auntie Mo, he couldn't decide who was the better actress. Something had happened, that was for sure but they were exaggerating it. If you took into account the complicated family dynamics, then the motives and testimonies behind the incident were also questionable.
The easiest way for this whole thing to go away was for everyone to settle. But, would they agree to do so?
