The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband-Chapter 330: Secret quest completed (volume 1 ends)
Chapter 330: Secret quest completed (volume 1 ends)
The air smelled like ash; the trees could not stand the flames and were completely burnt, but there was hope of it still growing, hope of the almost dead forest surviving.
"Take the girls back." Evelyn, the shadow 2 instructed, 5 assassins appeared behind her. They were all women, who served as maids under Cedric, having double identities as assassins among his elite shadows.
"They must be the slaves," she added, then ventured further into the burnt forest, searching for Cedric. He should be close because wherever there is destruction he is always close by
The walk took longer than expected as she wandered around the forest until she got to an opening. A cliff overseeing the part of the forest still green and unaffected by the flames that plagued the higher regions.
She stood moving, her eyes falling on the silhouette he formed against the bright sunlight. His black hair fluttered with the wind, long and beautiful, it felt like a scene from a dream.
In his arms, he closely cradled Abrielle, her face against his chest as she slept. It felt peaceful, if not the most peaceful moment she had seen them in. Under the cliff was a lush vegetation and beautiful river that flowed, dividing the scene.
"Your Highness." She called out. Cedric didn’t turn around his gaze focused ahead. "Shush, don’t speak too loud. She is asleep. I don’t think she has been able to sleep peacefully for weeks." Cedric’s voice came out barely a whisper.
Evelyn’s lips sealed immediately. She just stood at a distance. "Cassandra," he called out, still keeping his voice low.
"Yes, Your Highness."
"In the forest, the victims are there, get them to safety. They will be awake soon. We should be able to get their stories then. As for the others, keep them; they will be of good use later. If they are uncooperative, give them to the wolves. I heard they love to play the game of hunt." He instructed.
Abrielle stirred in her sleep; he went stiff, scared he had awakened her. After a while, her breath stabilized, and then she continued sleeping the entire time he held his breath.
Once he was sure she was asleep, he released a breath of relief; her hair was stuck in her mouth as she slept. It was comical. He almost laughed; he pulled it out and then let her continue sleeping.
"Is there anything else I should do?" Evelyn asked, seeing the prince was more relaxed now.
"Prepare the carriage. A bed will be more comfortable. I thought we could see the sunrise together here but it is long over." Cedric Instructed, Evelyn bowed and retreated. The sunrise on the cliff would have been truly magical. Was the storm truly over?

A few hours before Cedric arrived on the scene.
It seemed like a dream, her life was slipping due to the hold on her neck. Then, in her half-conscious state, the blue window appeared just when Abrielle expected it the least.
THE PLOT HAS BEEN COMPROMISED. THIS WORLD HAS BEEN COMPROMISED. THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN COMPROMISED.
A MAIN CHARACTER HAVE BROKEN CHARACTER. WARNING! THE SYSTEM CAN NO LONGER HOLD THE BALANCE ANY MORE
WARNING
WARNING
THE SYSTEM HAS LOST ITS CONTROL OVER THE PLOT. THE PLOT NO LONGER STANDS. THIS WORLD HAS GAIN ITS FREEDOM
SECRET QUEST HAS BEEN COMPLETE. QUEST TO CHANGE THE VILLAIN’S HEART
THE SYSTEM CAN NO LONGER HELP YOU IN ANYWAY
Abrielle was lost, she had no idea of any secret quest. What did it mean that the villain’s heart had changed? Was Cedric now a heroine? No, it wasn’t possible.
It says the system can’t help her in any way. That was funny because, so far, the system only wanted her dead. Was it truly helping her in the first place?
Did any of it happen? Maybe it changed because she was going to die for real this time. Her time was over, there was no hope. She could not even help herself talk less of Abigail or the other girls.
When she was about to completely give up she heard his voice. What is he doing here? Why did he come for her? Is that the reason the system broke down? The main villain came to rescue the villainess, the wife he should have never cared for?

The chirping sounds of birds, followed by occasional flapping of the window, drew her from her sleep. She stirred awake, her lashes fluttering as they slowly opened.
"Where am I?" She asked herself in a low voice staring at the strange ceiling. Her eyes went wide. Did her escape fail, and she was sold to a noble? She asked herself, unable to recognize the luxurious room.
She tried to move her hand that was above her head, the clanking sounds of chain links made her more scared. Her left hand was chained to the bedpost.
Abrielle sat up, puzzled she stared at the chains that bound her to the bed. "No, no this can’t be happening." She said in a panic trying to yank the chains. She saw him, she saw her husband before it all went dark.
Cedric was carrying her in his arms, or was her mind playing games with her when she was close to death? "Cedric," she called out, scared, her eyes finally darting around the enormous room until they stopped at a corner right of the bed.
He was seated there, a book in his hand while a quill in the other while he took notes very. His entire attention is on his work. "You know it’s hard for me to work if you are that noisy. I thought the holy daughter of the Nightshade family was raised with better poise."
Abrielle’s brows furrowed, what was he talking about? She was chained to a bed and all he could do was taunt her. He just had to remind her of all the reasons she wanted to stay away from him
"What are you talking about? How do you expect me to behave? A former slave waking up in chains." She snapped at him. Irritated.
A melodic sound akin to a laugh left his lips, and Abrielle was immediately dumbfounded. "I am glad to see you still have your sharp tongue," Cedric commented, then rose from his seat to approach her bedside. He sat by his side taking a lock of hair he twirled with his fingers.
"Don’t mind the chain. I am just keeping my promise; remember I said if you ever run, I will hunt you and then keep you chained by my side."
