Chapter 373 - 373: ASG Group

As the saying goes, achieving fame in youth can often lead to arrogance.

Especially at John's age, when two monumental halos hung above his head, a bit of arrogance might seem almost expected, even natural.

But this was John.

Despite his exceptional status, he remained calm and modest, unaffected by the weight of his achievements. He never sought to show off or flaunt his titles. Even when Hugh suggested he could easily leverage his position as the Master of Clouds, John purposefully dodged the opportunity.

It wasn't out of sentimentality. John simply saw no need to boast.

Hugh, having witnessed this countless times, understood. If it weren't for the pressing need to treat his daughter, Lucilla, on the spot, John would likely never reveal his identity as the renowned magic doctor of New York.

This mindset was baffling to Hugh. In his experience, most people in John's position would be eager to bask in the glow of their accomplishments. Yet John seemed to view these dual roles—the magic doctor and the Master of Clouds—as inconsequential, at least when compared to what he likely considered far more important matters.

Hugh thought he understood John well, but after today's conversation, he realized how little he truly knew about him.

John, however, remained oblivious to Hugh's musings and cares little about his assumptions.

He was focused on his next destination: the filming set of his sixth sister, Anita Moore.

The last time John saw Anita, Queenie had pulled her away to witness a great battle in the Pacific Ocean, only for Anita to return with a newfound understanding of John's true identity—he was, in fact, the King of Horizon. Naturally, Anita was ecstatic.

Due to the shock and excitement of these events, the filming process had slowed considerably. The director, Sivan Carter, and the rest of the crew could hardly complain, given Anita's importance in the entertainment industry. Furthermore, their sponsor, Queenie Group, wasn't in a rush. There was little pressure on anyone.

As John arrived at the set, he saw Anita resting, a serious look on her face. Amelia, her agent, was talking to her, but stopped when John approached.

"What's wrong, Sixth Sister?" John asked, his concern evident.

Amelia paused but Anita gave a casual glance. There was nothing she couldn't say to her sworn brother, and besides, this wasn't some hidden secret—it was news that anyone could find with a bit of digging.

Anita sighed, her voice tinged with frustration. "You know the foreign facial mask brand, 'Angel's Gift'?"

John nodded, waiting for her to elaborate.

Anita continued, her gaze hardening. "I'm the spokesperson for their U.S. division. Recently, the CEO of ASG Group, the company behind the brand, posted an inflammatory picture on Twitter. The photo showed a foreigner with a sword in his right hand, holding a dragon's head in his left. He was laughing, and the caption simply said: 'Funny.'"

The image was promptly deleted, but by then, it was already screenshotted and circulating online, especially among foreign netizens who found it humorous. Domestic netizens, on the other hand, were outraged.

The insults were blatant, and as the spokesperson for ASG Group in the U.S., Anita came under fire herself. But that wasn't the worst of it. What angered her most was that the CEO never offered a genuine apology.

Instead, he removed the photo because of the mounting pressure. What made the situation worse was that when the CEO discussed the matter with the company's major shareholders, they reportedly mocked the American public's short memory, implying that, in time, everyone would forget and go back to buying the 'Angel' mask once a price-cutting promotion was launched.

Anita clenched her fists. "I can't stand it. It's not just about being insulted. It's the principle. They dared to mock the faith of the U.S. and belittle people's pride. And to make matters worse, they're treating the public like fools."

Her words echoed in the quiet of the set, and for a moment, the tension hung in the air.

John, ever calm, raised an eyebrow. "So you plan to end your cooperation with them, I assume?"

Anita nodded resolutely. "I'll terminate it, even if it costs me."

John's lips curled into a smile, his expression one of quiet admiration. "You've always been a person of principle, Sixth Sister. I respect that."

Anita looked at him, her anger still simmering. "I'm not just mad for myself. I'll never stand for anyone insulting you, either. You're my brother, and I won't let anyone tarnish your name."

John placed a hand on her shoulder, a gesture of reassurance. "Don't worry, I'll take care of it."
