Chapter 409: Chapter 409: Classes

The card had a weird drawing on the front—some kind of lopsided heart with what looked like a tiny stick figure inside it.

Gu Jin raised an eyebrow. "What’s this supposed to be?"

Long Yifan grinned. "It’s you inside my heart."

Gu Jin stared at him. "It looks like a prison."

Long Yifan gasped, clutching his chest. "Ouch! My artistic skills are hurt!"

Gu Jin rolled her eyes and flipped the card open. Inside, there was a handwritten message:

’Dear Gu Jin, I was dumb before. Now I’m slightly less dumb. Please accept my dumb apology.’

She snorted. "Wow. Such a deep and emotional apology."

Long Yifan nodded seriously. "I put my soul into those words." ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

Gu Jin shut the card and tossed it onto her desk. "Whatever."

Long Yifan leaned closer. "So? Do I get a reward for my hard work?"

Gu Jin looked at him blankly. "What reward?"

"A smile," he said dramatically, placing a hand on his chest. "A single, tiny, little smile from the cold beauty of my dreams."

Gu Jin deadpanned. "Dreams? You mean nightmares?"

Long Yifan chuckled. "Nope. You’re my dream girl."

Gu Jin scoffed, turning away. "Go home, Long Yifan."

He sighed loudly. "Fine, fine. I’ll leave... for now."

Just as he turned toward the window, he paused and smirked. "But, Jin?"

She glanced at him. "What now?"

He pointed at her. "You smiled a little just now."

Gu Jin blinked, then quickly frowned. "I did not."

Long Yifan grinned. "You did. I saw it. I win."

Gu Jin picked up a book from her desk and threw it at him.

He dodged with a laugh. "See you tomorrow, sweetheart!"

Then, he jumped out the window and disappeared.

Gu Jin shook her head. "Idiot."

The little lizard, still munching on a pastry, glanced at her and wiggled its tail.

Gu Jin sighed and flicked its tiny head. "Don’t look at me like that."

But as she sat back down, she found herself staring at the dumb card on her desk.

And for some reason, she didn’t throw it away.

3 days were over, and Gu Jin’s classes resumed.

Today was Gu Jin’s first lecture was the fire department.

The lecture begins,

"Most of you are on the Advanced Stage of Fire Magic, while some of you have reached the Super Rank. There are also some who have awakened the Fire element as their second element.

I will start with the newbies. So as you all know, other than cultivation, you will need a Mystic Seed and a Solar Vein at the primary stage and a Lumino at the intermediate stage.

The task of newbies for this semester would be reaching the Intermediate Rank. While the task of the Advanced Rank would be to reach the Super Rank.

The Super Rank on the other hand has to improve its efficiency, accuracy, and cultivation to Tier 2.

In this session, I will mainly focus on the Advanced Rank mages, and I expect everyone to pay attention, as it will be useful to all of you in some way.

For the Advanced Rank mages, you will need Galaxy Vein to reach the Super Rank Mage. Now I will tell you the types of Galaxy Veins."

The professor cleared his throat and continued,

"There are five types of Galaxy Veins. Each one has a different effect on your fire magic."

He turned to the board and wrote them down:

Blazing Galaxy Vein – Increases attack power.

Inferno Galaxy Vein – Boosts fire control and precision.

Scorching Star Vein – Enhances fire speed and intensity.

Phoenix Flame Vein – Grants faster recovery and regeneration.

Eternal Ember Vein – Strengthens fire endurance and sustainability.

"For those of you aiming for Super Rank, you must absorb one of these veins before advancing. But be warned—absorbing a Galaxy Vein is not easy. It requires strong willpower and a stable foundation in your cultivation."

Gu Jin listened quietly, resting her chin on her hand.

She was already at the Advanced Rank, so she had to start preparing to find a Galaxy Vein soon.

The professor continued explaining how to locate and absorb a Galaxy Vein, but Gu Jin felt someone staring at her.

She glanced sideways and saw Long Yifan grinning at her from a few seats away.

What was he doing here?

She decided to ignore him.

Long Yifan, of course, was not discouraged. He leaned closer and whispered,

"Which Galaxy Vein do you want, my dear fiancée?"

Gu Jin didn’t even look at him. "None of your business."

Long Yifan smirked. "How cold. But don’t worry, I’ll find the best one for you."

Gu Jin sighed. "I can get it myself."

"Still, it wouldn’t hurt to have a handsome helper, right?"

She finally turned to glare at him. "Shut up and listen to the lecture."

Long Yifan chuckled but sat back like an obedient student.

After the lecture ended, Gu Jin hurriedly left for her second class: Thunder.

To her relief, Long Yifan didn’t follow her.

As she settled into the class and waited for the professor to appear.

Gu Jin tapped her fingers on the desk, staring at the front of the classroom.

The Thunder Department was known for being strict and disciplined. She expected an old, grumpy professor to walk in any moment and start lecturing them about the power of lightning.

Instead, the door swung open, and in strolled Long Yifan.

Gu Jin froze.

The other students straightened up, murmuring in confusion.

They clearly didn’t expect someone so young to be their professor.

Long Yifan, on the other hand, looked completely at ease. He strolled to the front, his signature grin plastered on his face.

"Good afternoon, students," he said, leaning against the desk.

"Welcome to the Thunder Department. I am your professor, Long Yifan."

Gu Jin’s eye twitched. This had to be some kind of joke. How could this annoying guy be a professor?

"Some of you may be wondering why someone as handsome as me is your instructor."

He flicked his sleeve dramatically. "The answer is simple: I am a genius."

The class snickered. Gu Jin, however, was unamused.

She crossed her arms and glared at him. Long Yifan met her eyes and winked.

She immediately looked away. This was going to be a long class.

"Now," Long Yifan continued, clapping his hands.

"Let’s talk about what it means to wield Thunder magic." He wrote the word ’THUNDER’ on the board and turned back to the class. "

"Thunder magic is powerful, fast, and unpredictable. It requires both skill and precision."

Gu Jin tried to focus, but every now and then, she could feel Long Yifan glancing at her.

She kept her face blank, refusing to react.

Then, suddenly—

"Gu Jin," Long Yifan called out. "Since you’re so talented, why don’t you answer this question?"

Gu Jin narrowed her eyes. "What question?"

Long Yifan smirked. "What kind of Thunder technique would be most effective in a duel?"

She sighed. "That depends on the opponent."

He nodded approvingly.

"Good answer. But if your opponent was, say... a very handsome, very charming man who happened to be your professor, what would you do?"

Gu Jin deadpanned. "Electrocute him."

The class burst into laughter.

Long Yifan placed a hand over his heart. "Ouch. Right in my soul."

Gu Jin rolled her eyes. "Can we move on now?"

Long Yifan grinned but continued with the lesson. He demonstrated a few lightning spells, explaining how to channel energy efficiently.

Despite his usual playful attitude, his explanations were clear, and he showed impressive skill in controlling lightning.

Gu Jin hated to admit it, but he was actually a good teacher.

When the class finally ended, she grabbed her things and tried to slip out unnoticed. But, of course, Long Yifan was faster.

"Jin!" He appeared beside her, smiling. "Did you enjoy my lecture?"

She stared at him. "It was fine."

"Just fine?" He sighed dramatically. "I expected you to be mesmerized by my brilliance."

Gu Jin walked faster. "Goodbye, Professor Long."

Long Yifan followed her. "Oh? ’Professor Long?’ I like the sound of that. Are we going to use it later as a roleplay?"

Gu Jin: "..."

She hurriedly left for her alchemy class.

On reaching the alchemy class, she was surprised to find it packed with a large number of students.

Each one was busy chattering with each other.

"They won’t be able to become your friend." Long Yifan’s voice sounded behind her.

Gu Jin rolled her eyes.

’When did I crave to make friends?’

She quickly found a seat and waited for the professor to arrive.

Sure enough, an old man with a white beard and a humped back entered the room.

For some reason, Gu Jin kept on feeling as if she had seen the old man before.

The old man introduces himself,

"Hello everyone I am Qiao Hange. I am Heavenly Rsnk alchemist. I know most of you are at Yellow Rank and I found a few impressive ones who had claimed that they were at the Peak of the Yellow Rank."
